Director Julien Temple is set to make a biopic, tentatively titled Midnight Love/Sexual Healing , about legendary soul singer Marvin Gaye . The film is due to begin shooting in Ostend, Belgium later this year. EMI, which holds the rights to Gaye’s music, is understood to be ready to give the greenlight to the project. The story will focus on the Midnight Love album (including the song Sexual Healing) that Gaye recorded in Brussels in the early ’80s. At the time, Gaye - who was living in Ostend - was considered a spent force - a drug addict who had lost the confidence of the record companies. Against the odds, Gaye recorded what many believe to have been his greatest album. Here in Berlin, Jean-Luc Van Damme, producer and managing director of Banana Films (the outfit behind Goodbye Bafana), revealed details of the $8 million Sexual Healing. Today is Valentines Day and I guess even Abe has a lovely lady to celebrate with tonight.  Director Timur Bekmambetov has found his leading lady to play  Mary Todd in the upcoming film  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter which is an adaptation of Seth Graham-Smith's novel with the same name. The guys over at LatinoReview  delivers this news like a cupid shooting an arrow threw her heart.  Robin McLeavy was cast in the role today. The film also stars  Benjamin Walker  who got cast as Abe Lincoln,  Dominican Cooper  who will play Henry Sturges (Abe's mentor), and  Anthony Mackie  who will play Abe's best friend Will. Director Timur Bekmambetov has decided to cast up and comers in the film, and McLeavy's casting is in line with that. Mary Todd is described in the script as a petite 20 year old brunette. Charlize Theron has inked a deal to star in " Prometheus " for Twentieth Century Fox. Theron joins previously-announced cast of Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender . Ridley Scott will direct and produce the project along with David Giler, Walter Hill and Tony Scott. The actor will play Jaxx , who sings Bon Jovi's " Wanted Dead or Alive " in the theater production from which the film is adapted. Tom Cruise is in final negotiations to co-star in Rock of Ages , New Line's adaptation of the hit stage musical about 1980s rockers. Adam Shankman  ( A Walk to Remember, Bringing Down the House) is directing from a script by Chris D'Arienzo. Cruise has been circling the project since October. He will play Stacee Jaxx, the arrogant and charming star at the top of his career. Jaxx sings Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead of Alive" in the theater production. Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand are also circling big roles in the film but do not have deals yet. Shankman's Offspring Entertainment, Tobey Maguire's Maguire Entertainment and Corner Store Entertainment are producing. Production is shooting for a May start date. Shane Black is in contention to direct Iron Man 3 for Marvel Studios. The writer/director has powwowed with Marvel execs about his take on the third installment in the blockbuster franchise. As of now he is being considered for the directing job, but the assumption is that if he gets the gig, he would also write a draft. Insiders said that Black's involvement is far from a sure thing, and that other filmmakers were being looked at. Marvel is keeping the story direction of Iron Man 3 -- which returns Robert Downey Jr . in the title role -- secret. Disney, which owns Marvel, is scheduled to release the threequel on May 3, 2013. The directing spot recently opened up when Jon Favreau , who directed the first two movies, announced he was departing the franchise, so that he can direct Magic Kingdom for Disney.
