BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Jonathan Liebesman “Clash of the Titans” Sequel

Jonathan Liebesman Confirmed For “Clash of the Titans” Sequel Jonathan Liebesman has signed a deal to direct a sequel to “Clash of the Titans” for Warner Bros. and Legendary. Liebesman had been in contention to nab the directing gig since early June, with negotiations stretching through the summer. Money was a factor, as was the hurdle of overcoming the negative perception of this year's initial installment. The movie, a remake of the 1981 original, became a worldwide hit for Warners, grossing more than $491 million, although it garnered many negative reviews. The studio is hoping to right the wrongs, shooting it in 3D (as opposed to have it added during postproduction, as with the first movie) and tapping some of its top scribes to work on it. Greg Berlanti, one of the writers of “Green Lantern,” Dan Mazeau, who worked for Warners on “The Flash” and “Jonny Quest,” and David Leslie Johnson, writer of “Red Riding Hood,” the studio’s horror thriller starring Amanda Seyfried,

Black Swan & The Wrestler Were One In The Same

Black Swan & The Wrestler Were One In The Same In some strange parallel universe, one in which filmmaker Darren Aronofsky made some of his choices a little bit differently, " The Wrestler " and his upcoming follow-up "Black Swan" exist as a single film, one about the coupling of a wrestler and a ballet dancer. Bizarre? Absolutely. Aronofsky nonetheless looks at the two films -- the older of which garnered two Oscar nominations while the newer will kick off the Venice Film Festival in a couple days -- as part of a single line of thought. "I've always considered the two films companion pieces," They are really connected and people will see the connections. It's funny, because wrestling some consider the lowest art — if they would even call it art — and ballet some people consider the highest art. But what was amazing to me was how similar the performers in both of these worlds are. They both make incredible use of their bodies to express thems

Tupac Shakur Biopic One Step Closer

Tupac Shakur Has Found His Writers For Upcoming Biopic Oscar-nominated screenwriters Stephen J. Rivele and Chris Wilkinson (Ali, Nixon) have just been hired to write the Tupac Shakur biopic, which means the Antoine Fuqua -directed film could begin shooting by mid-November. (No cast yet; Fuqua is looking for an unknown to play the late rapper.) While the writing partners are known for adapting true lives and stories — they also worked on the Moneyball script, and an upcoming Jackie Robinson story — Wilkinson tells Vulture that the key to this script is an approach that “is not in any way biopic-y.” A previous version of the script was largely documentary in style, simply laying out the facts of the slain rapper-poet-actor's brief 25-year life. But Wilkinson says that their new version will instead center on the last day of Tupac's life, flashing back to show the final four years leading up to it. Rivele admits that "I knew nothing about [Shakur]" before diving

Takers Lands A Step Ahead Of Exorcism At The Boxoffice

Takers Give A The Last Exorcism Sony's crime thriller " Takers " has overtaken Lionsgate's horror pic " The Last Exorcism " for box office bragging rights from the past weekend. Final official data released Monday show " Takers " took in $20.5 million, compared with $20.4 million conjured by " Exorcism ." That gave the competing wide openers the Nos. 1 and 2 positions, respectively, among all films playing in domestic cinemas during the weekend. The rankings were reversed from Sunday, when initial studio estimates showed "Exorcism" with $21.3 million and "Takers" posted a preliminary $21 million. "Takers" staked its weekend win largely on business from urban constituencies. "Exorcism" support skewed 54% to Latino moviegoers, keying on genre and thematic appeal. A hurricane watch in Puerto Rico delayed data collection Monday. Lionsgate execs waited with crossed fingers that "Exorcism&q

Shia LaBeouf #1 On Forbes List

Shia LaBeouf Is Money In The Bank Shia LaBeouf is money in the bank for the second year in a row. Forbes has has put out this years list. For every dollar Shia LaBeouf is paid, the movie he appears in earns an $81 in profit. I would buy his stock if they were for sale. Now I am sure it has to do with the movies that he has starred in the last two years, like " Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ," good for $787 million worldwide, and " Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ," which brought in $836 million worldwide. Anne Hathaway lcame is second, which might be a surprise to some, but with  " Alice in Wonderland " took in $1 billion  worldwide and, to an obviously lesser degree, " Bride Wars ," which brought in $115 million. Hathaway's movies generate $64 in profit for each $1 she earns. Rounding out the Top 5 were Daniel Radcliffe ($61 in profit for each $1 paid), Robert Downey Jr . ($33) and Cate Blanchett ($27).
