Aaron Sorkin To Direct And Write John Edwards Film Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has acquired the rights to the Andrew Young book about former presidential candidate John Edwards , " The Politician: An Insider's Account of John Edwards's Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down ." A TV and film mainstay, Sorkin will make his feature directorial debut with the project, which he will also write and produce. Young first volunteered for the Edwards Senate campaign in 1998 and eventually became one of the North Carolina pol's most trusted confidants. During the 2008 presidential primary, Edwards began making unethical demands of Young relating to the candidate's mistress and her child with him. Young's book was published by Thomas Dunne Books earlier this year. Warner Bros. Snaps Up "World War X" " World War X " interseting name for the film. Not alot is known about this film at this time. Warner Bros. snapped up Colin Trevorrow's script which centers on a man recruited by a team of government agents to stop a terrorist from the future who is using time travel to reshape history. Joel Silver and Andrew Rona are producing. Chris Bender, JC Spink, Alex Heineman and Jake Weiner are exec producing. Heineman and Sean Finegan brought the project into Warners. Will Smith To Play Bad Boy Cain Will Smith has attached himself to star in and produce The Legend Of Cain , an epic re-telling of the Biblical sibling tale, this time with a vampiric twist. Smith will play Cain, the original Bad Boy, and he will produce with Overbrook Entertainment partners Jada Pinkett Smith (his wife), James Lassiter, and Ken Stovitz. The script was written by Caleeb Pinkett and Dan Knauf, with Andrea Berloff revising. No studio or director yet for the Overbrook project. The production company is coming off The Karate Kid, which has so far grossed more that. $210 million worldwide. Ghost Rider 2 Is Confirmed Looks like you don't have a choice, they are going to be making a Ghost Rider 2 starring Nicolas Cage is going to be made, and it's been confirmed that Crank directors Neveldine and Taylor will direct the film. The confirmation came from Nic Cage himself on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He told ferguson that "there's gonna be a new one," and that he "just made the deal today." I didn't think the first film was that bad but definitely not great by any means. Neveldine and Taylor are the guys behind the high impact films Crank and Crank 2.
