Howard Stern Who Can Afford Him?

Howard Stern Who Can Afford Him? I was a huge Howard Stern fan ever since I could get his channel 9 show in high school, and while he was on the radio, but once he moved over to satellite then that is where it all ended for me. I wasn't going to pay for radio, no way in hell. And I was broke at the time too. I have caught a few of his shows on XM and they just aren't the same. When he was on the radio the entire Stern team had to work hard and creatively to get there bits on air. But being on satellite they can say what they want, which has caused the show to lose it magic. Perhaps not technically, but Stern's on-air mentions of his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal winding down at year's end, and his hedged proclamations of competing offers, are what one insider called his "method of operation." Not only is it his way of rallying his fan base so they'll agitate on his behalf, but he also is making sure that celestial and terrestrial radio know they'll ne

Russell Crowe And Beyonce Born To Be Stars

Russell Crowe And Beyonce Born To Be Stars With a new remake of "A Star Is Born" gaining momentum at Warner Bros., the studio could be closing in on, well, a star. Russell Crowe has emerged as the front-runner to take the lead male role of an aging, alcoholic musician who mentors/is schooled by -- and then finds romance with -- a younger female star. While it's not believed there is a formal offer yet, the studio is very high on the 45-year-old actor, who in turn is said to be keen to take the role. The female part would likely be played by Beyonce, who has long been associated with the role and has recently elevated her interest in it. The three previous iterations of "A Star Is Born" have alternated between settings in the film and the music worlds. The most recent one, the 1976 version from Warner Bros. that starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson as doomed pair Esther Hoffman and John Norman Howard, was set in the music world. Nick Cassavetes has re

Sony Wants To Find The Lost Symbol

Sony Wants To Find The Lost Symbol We've known it was coming ever since the book was announced, but now it's official: Sony has decided to ignore the diminishing returns of Angels And Demons and hired writer Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things) to adapt Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. Yes, despite Angels' $486 million haul falling well short of The Da Vinci Code's $758 million worldwide takings, the studio believes there's still life in Tom Hanks' Professor Robert Langdon, his hair and his middle distance stare. That's assuming, of course, that Hanks signs (he hasn't set a deal yet), but you can bet that Sony will be delivering a hefty pay offer to his house as soon as the bank opens. The book, meanwhile, proved to be yet another massive bestseller for Brown, and finds the good prof called to Washington to figure out the symbology of the Freemasons. Dark historical secrets will no doubt be revealed with his life under blah blah the usual. We're bett

Enchanted 2 On It's Way

Enchanted 2 On It's Way It's not surprising, given the success of Amy Adams' first warbling, gown-clad turn, that Disney would press ahead with a sequel to Enchanted. And now the Mouse House has hired both a writer (I Am Sam's Jessie Nelson) and a director (Anne Fletcher of The Proposal) to get it in gear. Considering that the original floundered for years in development limbo, the studio would like this one to flounce in front of cameras a little quicker, with, according to Variety, the aim of possibly having it in cinemas next year. Fletcher should be a good fit, since she's a former choreographer who can handle a dance scene with the best of 'em. Now, though, the big question will be whether Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and possibly Susan Sarandon would all return for another go-around. We're guessing they'd be up for it, given the original's massive success and (general) critical acclaim, but with all of them very much in demand, there

Watchman 2 Get Ready For the Sequel

Watchman 2 Get Ready For the Sequel I’ve heard this one rumbling for a while now. First there was the story that DC Comics Publisher and President Paul Levitz had personally prevented any Watchmen 2 projects, because, despite their differences, he believed that as this would be against Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ wishes, it would cause bery bad feeling in the creative community and would be a creatively bankrupt move. Moore fell out massively with DC Comics, and Paul Levitz specifically, not only choosing not to work with them any further, but scuppering spinoff projects, removing his name from any movie credits and any money due to him from said movies, and taking his one final project The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, from Wildstorm, a publisher DC had purchased But in the wake of the movie, Watchmen became DC’s best selling comic book of all time. One might say partly because it had remained undiluted after all this time. But there were moves. A Wizard splash showing DC’s Cou

Fast and Furious "Fast Five" Confirmed

Fast and Furious "Fast Five" Confirmed Universal Pictures is hitting the accelerator on a fifth installment of "Fast and Furious," currently being referred to as "Fast Five." Studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return to the franchise, which has become one of the studio's most lucrative. Diesel and Walker sat out the third chapter in the series but returned for last year's fourth installment, which was the highest-grossing "Fast and Furious" film and Universal's top grosser of 2009. Its box office haul was more than $350 million worldwide. Chris Morgan is writing "Fast Five," marking the third time he and Lin have teamed for a "Fast and Furious" film. The story finds protags Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen. Lensing will begin later this year for a 2011 release. Original Films' Moritz has produced e

Ca$h Has Found A Home And Ready To Roll Into Theaters

Ca$h Has Found A Home And Ready To Roll Into Theaters This is a good day for the folks over here at SandwichJohnFilms, being that Stephen Milburn Anderson is one of the great directors. And we really hope this films gets the treatment that it deserves with a great cast and film maker. Roadside Attractions has acquired the U.S. right to "Ca$h" the film will be hitting theaters on March 26th, I am hoping that it will get a large relase and not a selected theater in only the major cities. Lionsgate has acquired the the film for DVD. The film was produced and financed by Naveen Chathappuram, of Immortal Thoughts, with Prema Thekkek serving as Executive Producer. Media 8 Entertainment is handling international sales. If you have watched the movie South Central then you know the work of Stephen Milburn Anderson. The film had to be one of the best movies that depicted the gang life in South Central LA. Still to this day I can remember O.G Bobby Johnson. Deuce Deuce (Hoover Street De
