BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Blu-ray Review: @BadMoms

Bad Moms is a naughty, nasty, raunchfest that doesn't quite deliver on Blu-ray. Review by Matt Cummings As we headed into the home stretch for the Summer 2016 box office, one thing was abundantly clear: it was the worst in terms of quality releases as far back as I've been writing about it. Luckily, Bad Moms arrived to make that long list of trash a bit more bearable while establishing itself as potentially the sleeper hit of the year. And yet its message is one that I hope doesn't resonate with stressed out moms ready to party it up at the expense of their children. Sadly, the home release doesn't fare as well, displaying good audio, decent video, and a disappointing lack of extras. For stressed-out mom Amy (Mila Kunis), every day is spent rushing to parent meetings, working full-time hours at her part-time job, and trying to get her husband to actually do some parenting along the way. But when her marriage suddenly ends over a long-time affair, Amy i

Bad Moms Spin-Off Bad Dads Coming To Theaters In 2017

Variety is reporting STX Entertaintmet is planning a “ Bad Dads ” movie as a spinoff from its “ Bad Moms ” comedy and plans to release the film on July 14, 2017. “ Bad Moms ” has grossed nearly $180 million worldwide at the box office, making it the most successful release by far for two-year-old STX. STX Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group said Monday that it has numerous takes on this spinoff and will reveal additional details shortly. “Where other studios have automatically green lit traditional and significantly more expensive sequels, STX has determined those sequels on average are grossing 68% less than the originals,” the studio said. “Instead, STX has chosen to focus on extending consumer passion for the Bad Moms brand with a series of film spin-offs, a reality television show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products program.” “Bad Moms” was produced for $20 million and opened to $23.8 million at the U.S. box office on the weekend of July 29-31 and

Blu-ray Review: #TheBoss

Although it looks and sounds good, The Boss can't sustain the big laughs with a predictable plot. Review by Matt Cummings It wasn't too long ago that we were singing the praises of Actress Melissa McCarthy's parody Spy, a raunchy ride that actually gave her a story on which to scaffold her amazing comedic talents. Unfortunately, that moment now seems far away, as The Boss returns to McCarthy's tried (and failed) schtick of solid comedic moments filled with a ton of garbage that barely keeps our interests. The Movie - 3/5 Michelle Darnell (McCarthy) is rude, rich, and doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. Announcing "I'm the 47th richest woman in America!", Darnell dons a professional coif and an insanely high turtleneck as she encourages an arena of hungry guests to become rich. But her success has come at a price, betraying her former mentor Ida (Kathy Bates) and business partner/ex-lover Renault (Peter Dinklage) along the way. There&#

#BadMoms First Look

Amy Mitchell ( MILA KUNIS , Black Swan) puts her family first, second, and third. But her man-child husband, high-maintenance kids and idiot boss are taking a toll. She gives and gives, and gives and gives, and then gives a little more, but it’s never enough. When the alpha moms ( CHRISTINA APPLEGATE , Anchorman; ANNIE MUMOLO , Bridesmaids and JADA PINKETT SMITH , Magic Mike XXL) at her kids’ school push her too far, Amy finally snaps. Good Amy becomes Bad Amy really fast -- and she doesn’t go alone. Teaming up with two other misfit moms ( KATHRYN HAHN , Transparent; KRISTEN BELL , Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Amy gets a jolt of freedom that shakes up her life and might even make her a better mom. Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, & Christina Applegate Join Mom Comedy

THR is reporting The comedy project, which was to have starred Leslie Mann and be produced by Judd Apatow for Paramount but languished after the duo left, is back on, this time with Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate and Kristen Bell . STX Entertainment has stepped up to pick up the project, which is now untitled, with Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers behind The Hangover, remaining on board to direct. The duo also penned the script. The story centers on an overachieving mother with a seemingly perfect life whose stress lines are one bad day from cracking. Fed up, she joins two other overstressed mothers, leading them on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities, which includes going on a wild un-mom-like binge of freedom, fun and self-indulgence. The course of action lands them on a collision course with the PTA Queen Bee and her blindly devoted clique of "perfect" moms. STX hopes the strong female roles combined with a timely subject will

Kristen Bell Joins Upcoming #CHIPS Film

With Dax Shepard announced as writer, director and star of a cinematic take on cult cop action show CHiPs, we put out a quiet call to the universe for his wife, Kristen Bell to join him. Whaddya know? The universe heard us! Or… Dax just decided it was easier to cast from within his family. Yes, Bell has boarded the film, which finds Shepherd as Office John Baker , who, along with fellow police biker Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Michael Pena) , must keep the highways and byways free of crime. Which won’t be easy when you’ve got Vincent D’Onofrio as the main villain of the story. Adam Brody and Rosa Salazar are also signed on for the movie, which adapts the series that ran between 1977 and 1983 in the States. Shepard is gearing up to shoot soon for Warner Bros. Bell most recently worked on Melissa McCarthy comedy The Boss (formerly known as Michelle Darnell) and also reprised her role as Anna for the Frozen short Frozen Fever which played before Cinderella this year.
