The Green Lantern And Zach Snyder's "Sucker Punch." To Be In 3D

The Green Lantern And Zach Snyder's "Sucker Punch." To Be In 3D Warner Bros. is adding two more projects to its growing portfolio of 3D films -- "The Green Lantern" and Zach Snyder's "Sucker Punch." "Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Martin Campbell, is heading into production in Louisiana with a June, 17, 2011, release date. "Sucker Punch," starring Emily Browning as a teen confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, has completed principal photography and is set for a March 25, 2011, launch. Warners is in the process of converting "Clash of the Titans" and the first part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" to stereoscopic 3D (S3D). Studio decided last month to convert "Titans" and moved the launch back a week to April 2, kicking off a flurry of release-date shifts. Studio did not announce the conversion vendor for "Sucker Punch" or whether "Green L

The Flash To Be Directed By Green Lantern Scribe?

The Flash To Be Directed By Green Lantern Scribe? By Last we heard about a proposed movie based on DC Comics' Flash, writer David Goyer said it was "shrouded in mystery." Well, the mystery has lifted a bit, if we are to believe our athletically inclined pals at IESB.net: They're reporting that Greg Berlanti, co-writer of the upcoming Green Lantern and director of Life as We Know It, is in line to direct: The name should ring a bell or two, Berlanti wrote "Green Lantern" with one my favorites Marc Guggenheim and was once attached to direct the film before WB settled on Martin Campbell. It's unclear whether Flash will be based on Goyer's initial idea or will be written by someone else. And, of course, way to early to know who will put on the red suit, though Ryan Reynolds was once Goyer's choice (he's not involved and will instead play Hal Jordan in Green Lantern). Pixar's Cars 2 Delayed Till End Of 2011

Pixar's Cars 2 Delayed Till End Of 2011 Sorry all you Cars fans looks like the film is being pushed back till December of 2011. During Walt Disney Company's first quarter 2010 earnings call on Tuesday, company President and CEO Bob Iger mentioned that Disney•Pixar's Cars 2 will be released in theaters in December of 2011. The film was previously scheduled for a release on June 24, 2011 and this move would leave that release slot empty for now. Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing Green Lantern on June 17, 2011 and Michael Bay's Transformers 3 is targeted for a July 1, 2011 release. We're guessing another movie will quickly jump to June 24 spot, although Paramount moved up Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to a Tuesday night/Wednesday release in 2009, so that is another possibility for the third film. Disney•Pixar had scheduled a December, 2011 release for The Bear and the Bow. We assume that film will be moved as well. In the Brad Lewis-directed Cars 2, all the wor

Tim Robbins Joins Green Lantern Cast

Tim Robbins Joins Green Lantern Cast Tim Robbins has joined the cast of Green Lantern in the role of Senator Hammond, whose disapproving parental style is one of the reasons that Dr Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard ) ends up turning evil. The other reason, of course, is that Hammond Jr becomes infused with psychic powers from a strange meteorite and goes insane. As you do. Martin Campbell has recruited Robbins to the cast to star alongside Ryan Reynolds (as our hero) and Blake Lively (as his love interest, Carol Ferris). They’ll be reporting to the set in March to start shooting and Robbins also be no doubt hoping that this comic book film appearance wipes his early dabble with the genre off his CV, in the infamous Howard The Duck. Green Lantern Concept Art Work For The Film

Green Lantern Concept Art Work For The Film Some concept art form the upcoming Warner Bros. Film Green Lantern has made it's way onto the web. Cosmicbooknews bring us these pictures and apparently the pictures have been verified by a source The pictures can be from the first stage of drawing with some many concept pictures being done daily who knows who is in and out. Director Martin Campbell said this, "Well, Kilowog will be [in it]. Tomar-Re is in it. Sinestro is in it. Abin Sur is in it. All the origin people. Carol [Ferris], of course, who will be played by Blake Lively. All the main characters are there, and it's a complex story. The origin story of Green Lantern is complex, probably one of the most complex, which makes it a challenge to get it right." Now, based on a script we found a couple years back at a comic book message board, Carol Ferris and Sinestro will not be the full fledged villains, but the characters will be set up as the villains for a second

Sinestro To Appear In Green Lantern Film?

Sinestro To Appear In Green Lantern Film? Everyone's up in arms about "Spider-Man" this week, and I can understand why. It's huge news. But it's certainly not the only superhero film that's gearing up to shoot, and "Green Lantern" is actually closer to a start date, with major casting news breaking in the last week. Obviously, Ryan Reynolds was tapped last year after a very close horse race to play Hal Jordan, whose attempt to help a dying alien at a crash site ends up turning him into an intergalactic superhero. Then last week, there was an announcement about Blake Lively, who signed on to play Carol Ferris, and then Peter Saarsgard signed on to play Hector Hammond, a dangerous telepath whose contact with an alien force turns him into a major threat against the security of Earth. I've been making some calls yesterday and today, and what I'm hearing actually confirms some earlier rumors online from October of 2009, when Harry Knowles first

Green Lantern Has Found It's Villain

Green Lantern Has Found It's Villain Peter Sarsgaard is in negotiations to play the villain in "Green Lantern," Warner Bros.' big-budget, Martin Campbell-directed tentpole based on the DC Comics superhero. Ryan Reynolds is starring as Hal Jordan, the test pilot who finds a downed spacecraft with a dying alien who passes him a powerful ring, introducing Jordan to an interstellar police force known as the Green Lanterns. Sarsgaard will play Dr. Hector Hammond , the pathologist son of a senator who is seen as a disappointment in his father's eyes. He becomes infused with psychic powers when he discovers a meteor. The character was created by John Broome and Gil Kane in the early 1960s. Blake Lively has already been cast as Reynolds' love interest, Carol Ferris. The movie is prepping for a March start in New Orleans. Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti are producing. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Blake Lively Nabs Role Of Carol Ferris In Green Lantern

Blake Lively Nabs Role Of Carol Ferris In Green Lantern Blake Lively has nabbed the female lead opposite Ryan Reynolds in Warner Bros.' "Green Lantern." Lively will play Carol Ferris, who runs her father's aerospace company and hires cocky test pilot Hal Jordan (Reynolds), who later becomes the intergalactic policeman Green Lantern. In the comics, the romance became complicated when an alien race bestowed her the power of a crystal called the Star Sapphire. The search for the Martin Campbell-directed film's leading lady was almost as intense as the one for its title star. Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner were reportedly among those in the mix for the role. The role called for a slightly older actress but Lively, who stars in the CW's "Gossip Girl," impressed the studio and filmmakers with her audition. Warners was also impressed with her work in "The Town," its adaptation of the gritty Chuck Hogan novel directed by Ben Affleck now in post-p

Green Lantern Has A Cast Of Lovely Ladies To Choose From

Green Lantern Has A Cast Of Lovely Ladies To Choose From With Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) set to play Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie, Latino Review has narrowed down the contenders to play Carol Ferris, his love interest. And they're quite a group of lovely sci-fi vets: Who would you Pick? If you know me then you know why I picked Jennifer Garner Eva Green- She played Vesper Lynd in the recent James Bond movie, Casino Royale, opposite Daniel Craig, as well as the witchy Serafina Pekkala in The Golden Compass. Keri Russell- Besides appearing in J.J. Abrams' Mission: Impossible III, Russell has voiced Wonder Woman in the recent animated movie and is perhaps best known for playing the title role in Abrams' TV series Felicity. Diane Kruger- The German-born actress starred in Quentin Tarantino's alternate-history World War II action satire Inglourious Basterds and the Nicolas Cage adventure thrillers National Treasure and National Treasure: Book

"Green Lantern" Offered To Quentin Tarantino First

"Green Lantern"Offered To Quentin Tarantino First Quentin Tarantino recently revealed to MTV News that he had the opportunity to direct "Green Lantern." "I was offered the 'Green Lantern,' " Tarantino told MTV News. "Not since it's been a script, but just like, 'Hey we own the 'Green Lantern.' Would you like it?'" Tarantino declined the opportunity and "Lantern" joined the list of other franchises, like "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," that he was offered but never ended up taking on. "Green Lantern," of course, is now being helmed by Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale") and will star Ryan Reynolds. "It wouldn't be an existing comic book character," he said. "I'm a writer. I'd want to use my imagination and not have to fight with geeks' memories of how this character should be and, 'Oh, I cast an actor as opposed to a bodybuilder' or it's not as

Ryan Reynolds Talks Green Lantern And Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds Talks Green Lantern And Deadpool Then again, the 33-year-old can't go into hiding anytime soon. This year, he signed on to two big-budget franchise flicks, "Deadpool" and "Green Lantern." Lucky for him, fanboys couldn't be more excited to see his takes on both iconic comic book characters. I’ve known about Green Lantern my whole life, but I’ve never really followed it before. I fell in love with the character when I met with [director] Martin Campbell. When I sat down with him, I really got what it is that this guy is all about. When you have a guy like Martin Campbell, part of his charm is that he has ba–s of titanium, and the other part is that he’s slightly crazy, and you have to be to take on something with the scope of Green Lantern . He’s less of the director and more of a general. He just really knows strategies, he knows the intricacies, and his attention to detail! It’s infectious. I sat down with him, and I could not even believe wh

Does This Mean Green Lantern Movie Delayed?

Does This Mean Green Lantern Movie Delayed? I sure this doesn't mean that the movie will be delayed. I am really looking forward to this movie. I Have always been a huge fan of Green Lantern and when they announced the movie was going to begin filming this year I was excited. Now this, time can only tell when filming will begin. Green Lantern is the name of several fictional characters, superheroes appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. The first (Alan Scott) was created by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell in All-American Comics #16 (July 1940). Each Green Lantern possesses a power ring that gives the user great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower and strength to wield it. While the ring of the Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott) was magically powered, the rings worn by all subsequent Lanterns were technological creations of the Guardians of the Universe, who granted such rings to worthy candidates. These individu

Jon Cassar wants Ryan Reynolds To Drive The "Motorcade"

Jon Cassar wants Ryan Reynolds To Drive The "Motorcade" DreamWorks is revving up again on "Motorcade," setting as director Jon Cassar , best known as co-executive producer and a prolific helmer of the Fox TV drama "24." The studio hopes to get the picture into production by late summer or early fall 2010, and DreamWorks is eyeing Ryan Reynolds to play the disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the U.S. president is kidnapped in New York. Billy Ray continues to work on a script that was originated by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell. The drama has been a priority for DreamWorks and was one of the projects Tom Cruise seriously considered when "Live Free or Die Hard" helmer Len Wiseman was attached. Reynolds, who will next star in the Martin Campbell-directed "Green Lantern" for Warner Bros. next spring, has not signed on at this point. Though Cassar will be making his first big studio featu

Ryan Reynolds as The Green Lantern?

So is this a rumor or true? I wouldn't mind seeing Ryan Reynolds as The Green Lantern , and I am sure my wife wouldn't mind either. I have always like him since his days in Van Wilder then moving on to Blade. And I really feel he was the best part in Wolverine. After an intense months-long search, Warner Bros. has settled on Ryan Reynolds as its choice to play “Green Lantern,” the studio’s live-action tent pole based on the DC Comics hero. The film is being directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti. Reynolds and his camp entered negotiations for the part Friday, after the studio held two rounds of screen tests, along with actors Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto. Justin Timberlake also did a screen test. . The studio had holding options on the actors, but, except for Reynolds, those expired Monday. Reynolds’ option would have expired end of day Friday. One reason for the long search was De Line, Campbell and the studio each had a different favorit
