Director Cody Cameron's film about food gone horribly awry is sweet, fun entertainment that doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is. What that is, a movie about food that takes on human attributes, will make you mostly hungry throughout, but will definitely entertain with its cheesiness. Scenes of greasy burgers, sushi, fruits, and deserts perpetuate the environment as scientist Flint Lockwood (voiced by Bill Hader ) attempts to fix his invention which has turned Shadow Falls into a place where food is alive. Writer/Director John Herzfeld’s Passion Project Has Three Weeks Remaining to Reach Kickstarter Campaign Goal. Writer/Director John Herzfeld’s passion project is coming to fruition. REACH ME , an uplifting drama with Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone and an accomplished ensemble cast including Kyra Sedgwick (TNT’s The Closer), Tom Berenger (Inception, Training Day), Terry Crews (The Expendables), Kelsey Grammer (Starz’ BOSS), and rap superstar Nelly , was hit with a major roadblock during filming last winter when an investor backed out during the second week of shooting. Defying the option to shut down production, producers poured their remaining financial resources into the project, believing this was a film the public deserved to see. While their efforts allowed the film to finish shooting, the film still requires a helping hand from the audience to complete. The Kickstarter campaign for the film ends on September 19. Neither of these casting choices are shocks – Mel Gibson was reportedly in talks in June and Antonio Banderas’s named was dropped on Twitter by Expendables boss Sylvester Stallone – but official confirmation has come that both will join The Expendables 3 . The news comes on the heels of 'Willisgate', with Bruce no longer part of the third Expendables cast and Harrison Ford hired in his place. Gibson seems to be relishing the chance to play bad guys at the moment, with a showy villain role in Machete Kills and now this. Perhaps he’s trying to spin his decidedly murky reputation in Hollywood and make a comeback by playing up his dark side. We’re not sure that’ll work, but who knows? The median age of the Expendables 2 cast is about to come down by a few digits, as Liam Hemsworth has agreed to sign on to the movie. Hemsworth – younger brother of Thor man Chris – already has one big ensemble film under his belt, as he’s just finished playing Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games . For the Expendables sequel, he’ll be a sharpshooter who, we assume, will help Sly and co on their mission. After The Expendables turned in a surprisingly strong $275 million worldwide gross, many have wondered what they would do for an encore. How’s this? Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have just closed deals to take “ substantial ” roles in The Expendables 2 , alongside Sylvester Stallone . This has been rumored as possible, and it basically answers the hopes of a lot of fans who weren’t satisfied when action icons Schwarzenegger and Willis turned in cameos in the original, and poked fun at the days when they were the world’s top action stars.
