Billy Bob Thornton is heading to FX's Fargo. The Oscar winner has been tapped to play Lorne Malvo, the rootless, manipulative man who meets a small-town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Steve Buscemi played a similar role in the 1996 feature. The 10-episode limited series is inspired by the Coen brothers' 1996 best picture nominee and will follow an all-new "true crime" story with a new case and characters all seeped in the humor, murder and "Minnesota nice" of the original. Grown Ups 2 Review By: MattInRC In a Summer of good films, Grown Ups 2 is neither special nor memorable. I've made my disdain fairly clear for Actor Adam Sandler , who's turned in a body of work that hardly ever elevates itself from gross humor. He hit pay dirt last year with Hotel Transylvania , but that didn't come from his studio Happy Madison Productions, nor was it written by him. I had hoped his success in the animated genre would encourage him to produce more family-friendly (and frankly funnier) fare, and to move past the growing number of disappointments and bombs that are littering a once promising career. Grown Ups 2 shows that he's neither learned from his mistakes, nor understands the more lucrative choices placed before him. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA Review  By: MattInRC  HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA is sidesplittingly funny, inventive, just a little gross, and is the best animated feature of 2012 so far.11 2012 has been a rough year for Adam Sandler . Party to one of the worst films of all time in the disgusting/disturbing/ridiculous That's My Boy , it proved that the SNL alumni must leave producing films to more competent people. Another actor with similar troubles is Kevin James , whose fat-man loser comedy persona failed to resonate with fans in the totally forgettable Zookeeper (in which Sandler has a cameo). And in the best example of misery enjoying company, the two joined forces to destroy Grown Ups and The Dilemma. So it goes without saying that the release of HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA   was viewed with a healthy amount of skepticism by critics hoping for greatness but prepared for disaster. Hotel Transylvania finds Dracula ( Sandler ) creating the titular getaway as a safe zone for his monstrous mates. Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi are in talks to join Burt Wonderstone , New Line’s magician comedy starring Steve Carell . Jim Carrey and James Gandolfini are already in negotiations to join the cast. The project is set in the world of rival Las Vegas magicians. Carell is a more traditional magic man who is dethroned by a hipper illusionist doing dangerous tricks and breaks up with his partner then must find a way to rediscover his love for magic. Carrey is playing the magician who represents the new face of magic while Gandolfini will be an owner of a casino. Wilde will play Carell’s love interest, who at first is his assistant but later works for Carrey.  Buscemi will play Carell’s longtime friend and partner who quits the act. The movie is scheduled to go before cameras in January. Veteran TV director Don Scardino is making his feature debut on the project, which is being produced by Chris Bender and J.C. Mouse House chairman Rich Ross made the announcement Thursday afternoon on the studio lot. "Monsters Inc.," released in 2001, becomes only the second Disney-Pixar property to reach sequel status; the first was "Toy Story," which is gearing up for its third installment this summer.
