Steven Spielberg's Terra Nova Clip "Welcome Home"

Terra Nova may not be debuting until the fall, but Fox has a new promo to tide you over. "Welcome to Terra Nova folks. Welcome home." Terra Nova was originally slated for a special two-night preview on Fox in late May, but it was announced earlier this month that the ambitious Steven Spielberg -produced project would be pushed so the visual effects would have ample time "to be realized." Watch the trailer after the Jump... The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction. In an effort to save the human race, scientists develop a portal allowing travel 85 million years back in time to prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy and Zoe) join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway. Avatar: Special Edition DVD/Blu-Ray Update

Avatar: Special Edition DVD/Blu-Ray Extra 16 Minutes Of Footage Avatar: Special Edition hit theaters yesterday and over 9 minutes of extra footage. Has anybody gone out to see it again or for the first time? I would recommend going to watch it in 3D if you haven't had this experience yet. If you were like me I didn't pick up Avatar when it was released on DVD, knowing that down the road there would be a special edition re-release of the film, and now we have word on Avatar: Special Edition DVD & Blu-ray will have 16 minutes of extra footage. “Well, if you buy the box set in November, you can sit down, and in a continuous screening of the film, watch it with the Earth opening … It works very well. It just takes a long time to get the movie started. You have to be sort of predisposed to like the movie like a fan, you know what I mean? And then you can sit and you can have a great ride — a different telling of Avatar. Not inconsistent — it’s just the stuff that happen

First Official Photo Of Jason Momoa As Conan

First Official Photo Of Jason Momoa As Conan Back in May, the first shots of Jason Momoa as Conan the Barbarian popped up online . They were blurry, they were small, and not much to get excited about. Unlike those, the first official photo isn't only much bigger, but at it's a clear picture. View the picture after the jump.. Nu Boyana Film Studios , which recently wrapped production on Marcus Nispel's Conan, has posted the first clear image of everyone's favorite Cimmerian. While it's hard to argue against Arnold Schwarzenegger being the perfect man for the role, it looks as though Momoa, has always been a big guy, did his best to bulk up. Check out the photo below. Avatar 2 Announcement Coming Soon

Avatar 2 Announcement Coming Soon James Cameron was in South Korea, once again preaching about how 3D will replace 2D as the standard format for films, TV, laptops, online content. Actually, when I pitched this to 20th Century Fox four-and-a-half years ago, I said, ‘You know, we’re going to spend a lot of money and time and energy creating not only a process but the assets, the CG assets, we call them - all the models of every rock and tree and plant and creature and the muscle rigs for all the creatures and the facial rigging for the main characters and all that’… huge, millions and millions of dollars. So it really makes sense to think of it as the potential start of a franchise, if you will, or a saga that plays out over several acts, each movie being an act of that saga. I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll

First Look: Jason Momoa As Conan

First Look:  Jason Momoa As Conan Latino Review got there hands on a few set photos of Jason Momoa as Conan. From the big screen reboot of the Robert E. Howard classic character Conan. The reboot by Millenium Pictures focuses on a younger Conan and his wild barbarian ways. Dark Horse has a really good Conan series right now that also is focusing on a younger Conan. Remember they are set photos so they are not the best quality of pictures. I am really hoping they do this film justice and I am praying to CROM that they do not screw up this film we all grew up on. Avatar 2 Will Go Under Water In Pandora

Avatar 2 Will Go Under Water In Pandora We have some interesting news about Avatar and it's sequel. First up James Cameron says a longer version of the film will be back in theaters in August -- and that the franchise will return with a seagoing sequel. Cameron outlined where he sees the adventures of Jake, Neytiri and the rest heading in future films. “We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film. “Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rainforest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well.” The sequel, according

Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan

Rose McGowan Added To The Cast Of Conan Rose McGowan has been added to the cast of the upcoming film Conan. She is set to play an evil half-human/half-witch. McGowan's casting must cause speculation over the fate of the planned Red Sonja film. After all, last we heard McGowan was set to play the lead, and since that story exists in the same universe as Conan, it's a bit odd to cast her as a very different character here. Either they're messing with Sonja's (admittedly confused) backstory, or they're giving her an evil twin, or that film's gone on the backburner or been recast. Based on the Robert E. Howard books, the film is written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer, Sean Hood and Andrew Lobel and centers on the mythical hero driven to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village. Lang will portray a sadistic warlord, and McGowan is to play an evil half-human/half-witch. Howard appears as young Conan, and Perlman portrays Conan

Stephen Lang To Play Khalar Singh In Upcoming Conan Film

Stephen Lang To Play Khalar Singh In Upcoming Conan Film Stephen Lang has confirmed he will be playing the villain in the upcoming " Conan " film. He will be playing warlord Khalar Singh in the film. MTV had a chance to talk to Lang during the red carpet at the Oscars: "I've accepted the role of Khalar Singh," He will star opposite Jason Momoa , who recently reported that the film will be based on Robert E. Howard's original "Conan" novels as opposed to past film iterations. "I have no idea how I'm going to do it," Lang laughed. "First I'm going to find out how I'm going to sound. I'm going to get back on a Mongolian pony and ride like the wind. I'm going to flash my scimitar. I'm going to cut the nuts off Conan and his father." Latino Review reported last week about this casting news. Man those guys are good. The site claiming Lang had been offered the role and citing an anonymous source within M

Avatar Tops The 1 Billion Dollar Mark

Avatar Tops The 1 Billion Dollar Mark Twentieth Century Fox's "Avatar" reached a worldwide cume of $1.02 billion through Sunday, leading the most lucrative Christmas season in history. "Avatar" becomes the fourth highest grosser ever, behind James Cameron's "Titanic" ($1.8 billion), "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" ($1.12 billion) and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" ($1.07 billion). "Avatar" should soon eclipse the latter two pics. Over New Year's weekend, "Avatar" grossed an estimated $68.3 million from 3,461 runs at the domestic B.O. -- the best number ever for a film in its third weekend -- for a cume of $352.1 million in its 17th day in release. Overseas, the 3D sci-fi fantasy added $133.5 million for a foreign cume of $670.2 million in 21 days in release. Of "Avatar's" global total, $66.4 million has come from Imax theaters, a record for the large-format

Avatar Getting Encouraging Feedback About The Film

Avatar Getting Encouraging Feedback About The Film Avatar screened last night in London for members of the press and US screenings started this morning. I saw the film first thing today, and embargo keeps me from saying anything about it. Twitter has been fairly quiet, with those who’ve seen it abiding by the embargo so far. But some UK outlets don’t care as much about the embargo, and there is already a full-fledged review in The Sun and some useful comments in The Guardian. The Sun’s ‘review’ is typical for the paper — thin and shallow. But it is quite exuberant. “The final battle scene is 20 minutes long and absolutely mind-blowing,” the paper says. “It is overwhelming, and that is because you are emotionally tied up in the characters and the story.” The Guardian is more interested in preserving the embargo, but does pass along a couple of rumor-busting notes that are very much worth paying attention to: “And there have been a lot of rumours…Rumours that the 3D effects were making

James Cameron Promises Avatar Sequel

James Cameron Promises Avatar Sequel You've heard some of the buzz surrounding filmmaker James Cameron's upcoming 3-D sci-fi epic movie Avatar? Well, Cameron has a message for the haters: You ain't seen nothing yet. Coming up for air after "four and a half years of intense work," Cameron insists in an exclusive interview that he "consciously made a decision not to read any article or news breaks about Oscar buzz" while he labored to finish the film and also admits that he's been "well aware" of some of the negative fan buzz surrounding the project, based on screenings of early footage and trailers. "I know there's been a lot of talk and speculation about it, but it's kind of like the generic Oscar buzz out there—it's pretty ridiculous when people haven't even see the movie," he says, addressing the issue. "All anyone has seen is the 25 minutes of various scenes we showed at Comic-Con—and that's not the mo

Avatar: Flying With Banshees Behind the Magic

Avatar: Flying With Banshees Behind the Magic Fox Movie Channel has released their Making a Scene segment on James Cameron’s Avatar on Hulu. The ten minute segment takes a look at a scene in the film when Jake Sully and Neytiri fly together on Banshees for the first time. The segment gives us a glimpse at the work that went on behind the scenes to create this scene. It’s fine if you’re not impressed by how Avatar looks, but after watching this featurette, you should at least be impressed by some of the the technical innovations and processes that were created to make this film.
