Gravity Trailer Starring Clooney & Bullock

Beautiful vistas of the Earth. George Clooney being a reassuring astronaut. Explosions. Sandra Bullock doing her best Shia LaBeouf impression (you’ll understand when you watch it): it can only be the teaser trailer for Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity . Bullock plays Dr Ryan Stone, a medical engineer in orbit for her first shuttle mission, working alongside veteran space jockey Matt Kowalsky ( Clooney ), on his last trip before retirement (because, like police officers, that never ends badly). While they’re out on a routine spacewalk tragedy strikes and their shuttle is destroyed in a random accident. The pair finds themselves suddenly very much alone, tethered only to each other and floating off into the inky depths. There’s no radio contact with Earth, and as panic sets in, they discover the only way to get home might be to go deeper into space. 'Deeper?' we hear you think and then say out loud, 'surely not!' But soothe yourselves: that will all be explained. We

Sandra Bullock To Voice Scarlet Overkill

Playing against her America’s Sweetheart status, Sandra Bullock has been set to provide the lead villain voice in Minions, the Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertainment spinoff of the Despicable Me franchise. Bullock will voice Scarlet Overkill , a stylish bad-ass super-villain who is (what else?) bent on world domination. The 3D CG animated comedy has been set for release December 19, 2014. The adorable yellow henchmen, who got their start in 2010′s Despicable Me , will be back this summer in the sequel. This spinoff establishes that Minions have existed since the beginning of time, in service of history’s most ambitiously evil villains. Through their lovable ineptitude, Minions have managed to thwart and ultimately destroy all of those bad guys. This story picks up in the 1960s, before they hench-ed for Gru. With no more super-villains to serve, the Minions fall into a collective depression and three of them set out to seek a new evil master. They wind up at a villain con

Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy Team Up For Buddy Cop Film

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are teaming for a buddy cop comedy about the strained working relationship between an uptight FBI agent and an unconventional Boston cop. Bridesmaids' Paul Feig will direct and executive produce the Fox project, which was written by Parks and Recreation writer Katie Dippold. A summer shoot is planned, meaning the project is being fast-tracked to fit into the busy schedules of McCarthy, who stars on CBS' Mike and Molly, and Feig, who is developing several projects. This will mark a reunion between Feig and his Bridemaids breakout star McCarthy, a best-supporting actress nominee for her comedic role. At the top of Feig's list is a remake of the hit French comedy Intouchables, about a quadraplegic aristocrat and his ex-con caregiver. That movie could possibly shoot in the fall. Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Dylan Clark are producing for Chernin Entertainment. Bullock won an Oscar in 2010 for the drama The Blind Side but she h

Ben Stiller Is All Talk On HBO

It’s clearly the day that HBO has decided is most auspicious for announcing new comedy pilots. Hot on the heels of news about Paul Feig directing Goldie Hawn in T he Viagra Diaries comes word that Ben Stiller has jumped aboard to star, direct, executive produce and run the electrical department* for All Talk . Novelist Jonathan Safran Foer cooked up the concept and has written the script for the pilot, which will follow the daily dramas of a Jewish family in Washington, DC. Foer, whose book Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close is currently on screen in the US with Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock starring, has labelled the show “politically, religiously, culturally, intellectually and sexually irreverent.” To add that little bit of extra class, Stiller’s Tower Heist co-star Alan Alda (already a telly legend thanks to the likes of M*A*S*H, ER and The West Wing) is in talks to co-star. And working behind the scenes will be Social Network producer and regular Stiller collaborator S

EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE Movie Review By: RAMA

EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE Movie Review By: RAMA So what did RAMA think of EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE ? Make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . 9/11 is a touchy subject, no matter how well-made the films are, like United 93 and Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center , for example, there will always be a certain level of viewing discomfort and questions of whether or not it’s too soon for such depictions to exist. EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE is no different but I think screenwriter Eric Roth and Oscar nominated filmmaker Stephen Daldry, whose film The Hours I admired, manage to approach this adaptation in a respectful manner from the perspective of the young character Oskar as he struggles through the difficulties of letting go the memories of his dad who was in one of the towers when they collapsed on what he’d like to call ‘the worst day’… Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name, “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” tel

George Clooney To Star In Warner Bros. "Gravity"

George Clooney Replaces Robert Downey Jr. George Clooney will star opposite Sandra Bullock in Gravity , Warner Bros.’ and Legendary Pictures' 3D outer space thriller that has become a game of musical chairs for actors. The initial pairing for the Alfonso Cuaron -directed project -- about a female astronaut struggling to survive and trying to make it to Earth after a disaster in space -- was to have been Angelina Jolie and Robert Downey Jr. Then came a protracted series of reversals that saw Jolie leave and come back, and actresses Marion Cotillard, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman involved with the movie to varying degrees, all within the last eight months. Downey stuck with the project throughout the various casting changes but in mid-November, just as things looked set with Bullock, he bailed. Warner considered scrapping the project but conducted a Hail Mary search for the male lead who, while doesn’t carry the movie, is still pivotal in the firs

Sandra Bullock To Reunite With The Proposal Director

Sandra Bullock To Reunite With The Proposal Director Sandra Bullock is reuniting with the director of The Proposal , Anne Fletcher, for an untitled project. Warner Bros. has picked up the pitch, which hails from scribes Pamela Falk and Michael Ellis. Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment are producing. Bullock is attached to star, while Fletcher will direct. Details are scarce, but the contemporary-set project is described as in the vein of the 1978 Paul Mazursky film An Unmarried Woman and Saturday Night Fever. Bullock also will executive produce with her Fortis Films partner Maggie Biggar. Offspring's Matt Smith also is executive producing. Sarah Schechter is overseeing for Warners. The acquisition comes as Bullock is in negotiations to star in the studio's outer space survival movie, Gravity , from director Alfonso Cuaron. Gravity is vying with Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close as her next movie. Choreographer-turned-director Fletcher,

"Most Wanted" Sandra Bullock And Ryan Reynolds

"Most Wanted" Sandra Bullock And Ryan Reynolds The creative team behind "The Proposal" -- stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds , director Anne Fletcher, writer Pete Chiarelli and producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman -- are reuniting for " Most Wanted ," an action comedy project that sold to Universal over the weekend. The story sees Bullock as a criminal suspect with Reynolds as an FBI agent who is supposed to be escorting her to court when the two are ambushed and forced to go on the run. The project is described as having a tone similar to that of "Midnight Run," Universal's 1988 action comedy starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. Universal is developing a sequel to "Midnight Run." The pitch originally went into Disney, the company that made "Proposal," the hit romantic comedy made via its Touchstone label that grossed more than $317 million and was part of Bullock's comeback year. Since the mov

Sandra Bullock Makes Box Office History

Sandra Bullock Makes Box Office History Sandra Bullock rang in the new year making box office history. Some time over the weekend, Bullock starrer "The Blind Side" became the first pic in history driven solely by a top female star to jump the $200 million mark at the domestic B.O. To be precise, the film finished the frame with a cume of $208.5 million in its seventh week in release. Over the weekend, it rose a remarkable 10% over the previous week, and it's still got plenty of life left, according to Warner Bros. prexy of domestic distribution Dan Fellman. "Blind Side" was fully financed and produced by Alcon Entertainment. The project was brought in by Molly Smith, daughter of Alcon backer Fred Smith, founder of FedEx. It's hard to believe, but none of the previous films in which Bullock had top solo billing had reached $200 million, nor have any of the solo starring efforts of the likes of Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie or Reese Witherspoon.
