Mr. White To Return In SPECTRE

Those of you who were quick to lament that the return of SPECTRE might mean the continuing abandonment of Quantum can now take heart. He was missing from Thursday's official unveiling of the 24th Bond movie, but Jesper Christensen has confirmed that he will be returning to the role of Mr. White in the new film. Mr White was the liaison for the mysterious criminal organisation Quantum in both Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace . Last we saw of him, he was escaping through the tunnels under Siena, having been saved from enthusiastic "interrogation" by M's double-agent bodyguard Mitchell.* After that, the rest was silence, and there was nary a mention of Quantum or White in Skyfall. But, says Christensen now, "I am looking forward to working with Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig. It is a truly exciting script and a very capable team. So it'll be fun..." Let the speculation of how Quantum and SPECTRE are connected begin. Like Goldfinger, Skyfall seem

What SPECTRE Means to Bond 24

Read on to learn why we're geeked out by Sony Pictures' announcement. When news quietly arrived back in November 2013 of MGM's purchase of two cherished James Bond titles - SPECTRE and baddie Ernst Stavro Blofeld - we had a feeling it wasn't coincidence. Mired in the court system for literally 50 years, MGM and creator Kevin McClory finally agreed to end their differences, paving the way for SPECTRE's return in a future Bond film. The billion-dollar returns for Skyfall weren't an accident, and the franchise has enjoyed a renaissance unequaled with gritty action and graying loyalties. In many ways, the franchise was ready to take the next big step. Up until today, what we didn't realize was just how soon the terrorist organization and its leader would return. When Sony Pictures' media event - held on the Pinewood Studios lot in England - released the name of Bond 24 as SPECTRE , it set off a shockwave of speculation: would Django Unchained

#SPECTRE Bond 24 New Title & Announcement Video

Welcome back, Spectre . We've been expecting you. Today, at a grand unveiling at the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios, director Sam Mendes revealed the title of the 24th James Bond film - and the follow-up to the franchise's first billion-dollar grosser, Skyfall - will be SPECTRE . You can check out an impressive motion poster over on Facebook . And, as Mendes intimated, Bond fans will know what that means. SPECTRE is, of course, the terrorist organisation that was a thorn in Bond's side throughout most of the early 007 films. It stands for Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge And Extortion , and is not to be trifled with. Of late, SPECTRE has not had a presence in the Bond universe thanks to a long-running copyright battle between MGM and the estate of Kevin McClory, the producer of Thunderball and the unofficial Connery Bond, Never Say Never Again. That, however, was resolved in 2013, paving the way for SPECTRE to return to the Bond mov

Bond 24 Delayed Due to Script Rewrites

The fourth Daniel Craig outing will add more Bond repartee. Ever since news broke in November that MGM had acquired both SPECTRE and the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld , fans of the James Bond franchise had breathed a sigh of relief. The biggest news since perhaps the signing of Pierce Brosnan to revive the franchise back in 1994, the acquisition of SPECTRE would now allow MGM to pursue a story arc pitting Bond against the evil think tank of villains which included Blofeld at its head. From all indications, the upcoming Bond 24 was in good shape: the script was complete and 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor had supposed been offered the role of the film's villain . So, it comes as a bit of surprise that The Daily Mail is reporting that some script changes are in the works. Writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade - responsible for five previous Bond films - have been brought on to "polish and punch-up" John Logan's original script. According to the article

Chiwetel Ejiofor Up For Bond Villain Role

After scoring big with Javier Bardem as its last Bond villain, MGM and Sony may be targeting another Oscar-nominated actor to play 007′s nemesis in the next James Bond pic. Sources tell Variety that Chiwetel Ejiofor is the top choice to play the villain in the next installment in the Bond series. No offer has been made yet, and scheduling would still have to be worked out, but sources insist he is the front-runner for the job. The studio had no comment. Daniel Craig is already set to return as Bond, with Ralph Fiennes , Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris set to return as well. “Skyfall” helmer Sam Mendes will again direct. Plot details are unknown at this point. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will produce, with John Logan penning the script. The plan is start production in the summer in order to meet the pic’s release date of Nov. 6, 2015. Casting has been heating up, with the studio also on the lookout for one Scandinavian and one British woman to play the new Bon

007-Skyfall Video Blog

Following Peter Jackson's fine Hobbit examples, Sam Mendes has opted to post occasional video blogs as Skyfall comes together. The first of them has just arrived at official site 007.com Except blogging isn't quite what's going on here: rather than Jackson's method of presenting to-camera, this actually seems to be footage of a Mendes interview, very possibly being put together for a DVD documentary. The director talks about his personal connection to James Bond, his love of the films growing up and how impressed he was with Casino Royale, and with Daniel Craig's Bond in particular. He points out that, despite being a British director, Skyfall is his first British movie, since the previous half dozen have all been shot on American soil. Critically, there's practically no Skyfall footage in the brief ninety-second clip, although there's a glimpse of Craig creeping around with his Walther, as already seen in the still released a few weeks ago. Otherwi

BOND 23 Set For 11/9/2012

Bond Is Back MGM is announcing that " BOND 23 " is set to go into production in late 2011 and today announced that the 23rd James Bond film will have a worldwide release on November 9, 2012 .  Daniel Craig will be returning as the legendary British secret agent, with Sam Mendes directing a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. That script is being kept under wraps but the story begins after Quantum Of Solace leaves off. The reason for the 007 delay is this: Broccoli and Wilson had been in pre-production on Bond #23 for release in 2011 but then it took almost a year for MGM's future to sort itself out what with the failed auction sale of the studio, then the pre-packaged bankruptcy getting approval, and eventually Spyglass taking over studio filmmaking. Meanwhile star Daniel Craig filled in the time with various film commitments which he had to finish. The actor began work on the Hollywood remake of the Swedish original The Girl With The Drag

New James Bond Film Found It's Director.

New James Bond Film Found It's Director. It's Mendes. Sam Mendes. The British helmer is in negotiations to direct the 23rd installment of the venerable James Bond franchise. Production is being fast-tracked and could begin as early as June with an eye toward a 2011 release. Plans for the film are moving forward despite a possible sale of MGM. Sony co-produced and distributed the most recent installment of the 007 series with MGM. Bond regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing, along with "Frost/Nixon" scribe Peter Morgan. Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are producing. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007. The film will be Mendes' first action-heavy project, although his 2005 effort "Jarhead" was set amid U.S. war in Kuwait. Mendes' last directorial effort, the road-trip dramedy "Away We Go," grossed $10 million domestically last summer. Marc Forster directed the previous Bond film, 2008's "Quantum of Solace," w
