Martin Scorsese's HUGO International Trailer

It's a Martin Scorsese 3D family film! Sure, that might seem like one of the less likely sentences ever written, but that was before Hugo, which sees the cinephile director adapt Brian Selznick's delightful (and cinema-loving) children's book The Invention Of Hugo Cabret for the big screen. And here's the new international trailer. The film stars Chloe Moretz, Asa Butterfield, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Michael Pitt, Emily Mortimer, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory, Ray Winstone, Richard Griffiths, Michael Stuhlbarg and Frances de la Tour. We've already had one trailer, of course, but this new one offers a few new tidbits from the film, and the sight of Scorsese himself discussing his plans. From what we can see here, we feel confident in saying that it's going to look breathtaking and that Sacha Baron Cohen is going to have a close encounter with a cake. Sacha Baron Cohen As The Dictator

Paramount Pictures has released the first images of Sacha Baron Cohen as The Dictator . The film, due out May 11, 2012, tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed, the studio said earlier this year. It is inspired by the novel Zabibah and The King by Saddam Hussein. Producing alongside Baron Cohen are Scott Rudin, Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Fletch Remake Is On The Way

David Mandel, one of the writers on Sacha Baron Cohen's upcoming comedy The Dictator , is in negotiations to pen Warner Bros.' new Fletch movie. The studio picked up the movie rights to the Gregory McDonald mystery novels featuring investigative reporter Fletch in February for an adaptation to be produced by Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Michael Sugar as well as David List, the manager of McDonald's estate. No plot details were given, but Warners and the producers are aiming for a reimagining, not a remake of the 1985 Chevy Chase film or its sequel, and hope to make a smart action comedy that plays out on a bigger canvas than the previous movies. The project is said to be a high priority for the studio, and a great vehicle for an A-list comedy star. Sources said Mandel beat out several high-profile scribes for the opportunity to write the script. The 11 mystery books, the first of which was published in 1974, center on a reporter named I.M. Fletcher who

Anna Faris To Star In The Dictator

Anna Faris is in negotiations to play the female lead in The Dictator , the new comedy Sacha Baron Cohen is doing for Paramount. Larry Charles , who directed Borat, is back in the helming saddle for the Paramount movie, which has been described as "the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed." Cohen is said to play dual roles of a goat herder and a deposed foreign ruler who gets lost in the U.S. Ben Kingsley and Jason Mantzoukas are also in the movie, playing fellows from the Middle East. Faris will play the owner of a Whole Foods-style store in New York. The movie is being done in a similar manner as Borat in the sense that Cohen and his team are looking for people with very strong improvisational skills. The movie is aiming to start June 5 in New York and Spain. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Sacha Baron Cohen To Portray Mercury In Upcoming Film

Sacha Baron Cohen To Play A Queen Are you ready for Borat to play a queen?  Sacha Baron Cohen has closed a deal to play Queen front man Freddie Mercury in a film that’s being scripted by Peter Morgan for a 2011 production start. The untitled film will be financed by GK Films partners Graham King and Tim Headington, who'll produce in partnership with Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s Tribeca Productions, and Queen Films. Morgan is already working on a script focused on the band’s formative years, leading up to Queen’s appearance at Live Aid in 1985. Queen’s performance is considered one of the rock's all-time great live concert appearances. A rights package has been set that includes the band’s tunes, including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions , Another One Bites The Dust and You’re My Best Friend. It is unclear whether Baron Cohen will sing—I’m told he can sing—or whether Mercury’s vocals will be used. Nobody sang like Mercury, so trying to rep

Sacha Baron Cohen To Play Walter Mitty?

Sacha Baron Cohen To Play Walter Mitty? The next twist in the long development of a remake of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty has just struck Hollywood – Sacha Baron Cohen is the latest name rumored to be starring in the film, according to Pajiba. Adapted from 1947’s Danny Kaye comedy, Walter Mitty is one of those movies that attracts major talent, but can’t ever seem to make it to the screen. First mooted in 1994 with Jim Carrey starring for New Line, it’s been passed like a brightly wrapped present at a child’s birthday present between studios and directors, with Paramount and DreamWorks both involved, Ron Howard briefly attached and Steven Spielberg making it one of the 73,000 films he’s planned to direct over the years. Carrey dropped out, Owen Wilson became attached, and Spielberg just couldn’t find the time (he is, after all, a very busy man). And not to mention the screenplays – half the script doctors in LA and beyond have had their paws on it. Now 20th Century Fox, whi
