BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Sela Ward To Play New President in Independence Day 2

New Commander in Chief to deliver rousing speeches. By Brandon Wolfe Those of you ID4 fans who were expecting Bill Pullman to have been made President for life had better brace yourselves because there will be a new face in the Oval Office for the sequel. ‘90s relic Sela Ward will play President Lanford in the sequel to ‘90s relic Independence Day . Ward has previously worked with director Roland Emmerich in 2004’s The Day After Tomorrow . Ward will join returning ID4 vets Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Vivica A. Fox (but, again, no Will Smith), as well as newcomers Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film will go into production this month for a slightly-too-early release on June 24, 2016. It Follows Star Joins Independence Day Sequel

The First Daughter gets a facelift. By Brandon Wolfe Master of disaster Roland Emmerich has revealed via his Twitter account that It Follows star Maika Monroe has joined the cast of the rapidly assembling Independence Day sequel. Monroe will play the now-grown daughter of Bill Pullman’s President. Though Monroe is rightfully moving quickly up the ladder after her breakout performance in It Follows , the role of the President’s daughter was portrayed by actress Mae Whitman in the original film. Whitman, who remains a very active actress, seen in Arrested Development , Parenthood and, most recently, The Duff , was apparently not given the opportunity to reprise the role, striking up some controversy online about how that may be due to her being less Hollywood-glamorous than Monroe. If that is the case, it is indeed a shame, especially for a sequel that has seemed to take pains to bring back as many original ID4 actors as possible. In related news, Will Smith is still not

Stargate Is Back

Read The Latest News Regarding The Beloved Franchise Story by David Clark In 1994 a movie named Stargate was released that was almost immediately considered a success; however, nobody dreamed of how far that movie would go. In the two decades following the release a franchise was born that consisted of cartoons, comics, books, movies, and television shows. Now, 20 years after the release of the original movie, Stargate is being infused with new life in the form of a reboot. The original concept and screenwriting for the 1994 Stargate movie was done by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin . For those that do not know these two individuals they have spent time in the industry as actors, writers, producers, and directors who most recently were in the news for the successful greenlight on the upcoming Independence Day sequel. In an interview with Devlin he expressed excitement at the opportunity for improving the vision of the franchise while adding to the storied legacy that

Liam Hemsworth Offered Lead In Independence Day Sequel

Liam Hemsworth has an offer to star in the Independence Day sequel, currently titled ID Forever. The sequel to the 1996 alien invasion film has been bubbling away in the development pods for, well, seemingly forever. There have been various versions proposed, talk of two films shot back-to-back and endless rumours about who might return to star. With Will Smith out of the picture for now and Jeff Goldblum and Bill Paxton apparently set to return, director Roland Emmerich is looking for a new star and Hemsworth might just be it. There’s no word on what his character might be, but that’s not even worth considering unless he actually signs on to the thing. Carter Blanchard has written the most recent draft of the script and the studio set a 24 June 2016 release date late last year, so Emmerich needs to get cracking on the movie if he’s to deliver the requisite landmark-destroying mayhem most people will be showing up for. Independence Day Sequel On Its Way. Oh Joy.

It’s been vapourware. It’s been in various stages of development. It’s been two movies set to shoot back-to-back. It’s seen writers come and go. And, most recently, it scored a 2016 release date. But even that wasn’t enough to make 20th Century Fox officially hit the “go” button on the Independence Day sequel . Now, though, the green light is flashing and the cameras should be rolling in May. Roland Emmerich , who has long been the champion of more alien invasion action, has surprisingly not already signed a deal to direct, but given what he’s said about the film in the past months, that’s merely a formality. According to Deadline , the studio will start locking in a cast as soon as Emmerich is officially on board and it will only be a single film: the double-shot option is not going forward for now. Also not present? Will Smith, who has long since apparently passed on appearing. Could he be tempted to relent? It’s not impossible, but don’t count on Captain Steven Hiller showing u

Will Smith Has To "Focus"

At the moment it sounds like we won't be seeing him in Roland Emmerich 's developing Independence Day sequel. But for those with a Will Smith craving there's always Focus , a romantic crime caper co-starring The Wolf Of Wall Street's Empire Award winning Margot Robbie . Filming took place this time last year and the first stills have just arrived online, courtesy of USA Today . Smith plays a con artist getting romantically involved with Robbie's novice grifter, only for the partnership to sour. Flash-forward in time, and our hero is setting up an elaborate heist in Buenos Aires when the owner of an international racing team (300's Rodrigo Santoro ) hires him to help gain an edge over the competition. But when Robbie shows up again, both men compete for her affections and the love triangle’s sharp edges start to cut… Crazy, Stupid, Love directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa wrote the script and are once again behind the cameras, this time in New Or
