BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Arnold Explains Why "Crusade" Never Got Made

Elsewhere in our mammoth Arnie feature in this month's Empire, The Austrian Oak tells us about how his Total Recall director, Paul Verhoeven , got so close to making his passion project, Crusade – described by some as part Spartacus, part Conan – before it all fell apart. Not shying away from the anti-semitism and anti-arabian sentiments of the crusaders in question, it was going to be full-on, frank, vintage Verhoeven, with sets already built in Spain and cast ready to roll – including Robert Duvall, Jennifer Connelly, John Turturro , and Christopher McDonald – before it all disappeared into a lick of development hellfire. "It was all written and ready to go but then Paul started going crazy. We had the final meeting with the studio and we were all sitting at this boardroom table. They said, 'So the budget is $100 million. That's a lot of money. What kind of guarantees do you have that we will get it for 100 and it won't go up to 130?'" &q

Jack Reacher Trailer Rolls In

Here is the teaser trailer for Jack Reacher starring my main man Tom Cruise ! Apart from a decidedly not-from-the-books obsession with cars (at certain points you might think you’re watching a promo for the next Fast & Furious franchise outing), it definitely seems that Cruise is going all out to prove he’s got what it takes to embody Lee Child’s hard nut former MP. Adapted from the book One Shot , Reacher finds the man with a mental alarm clock in his head digging into the case of a series of sniper attacks in a US city. The prime suspect is a former military man himself who claims innocence and orders his defence team to get Reacher’s services. The case seems like a slam-dunk, but there’s the small matter of one of the shots missing its target. And soon Mr Jack realises there is much more to the whole affair... With Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins, Werner Herzog and David Oyelowo also among the cast, Jack Reacher smashes its way into our cinemas on December

Ewan McGregor To Star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Ewan McGregor To Star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of his long-delayed film, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote . McGregor will take on the role that Johnny Depp had been set to play in the original, aborted version back in 2000. Depp had still been attached to the role for this version, but with Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 eating into his schedule, and a September start date looming for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Gilliam has clearly decided to go with McGregor instead. McGregor will play, if the current version remains faithful to the original attempt, a 21st century advertising executive who travels back in time to 17th century Spain, where he meets Don Quixote and becomes involved in adventures with him. Robert Duvall has been on board the revamped film, as Quixote, for some time, replacing Jean Rochefort. But the addition of McGregor is brand new. "Robert Duvall is one of the greats, no question - and he can ride a horse!" lau

Crazy Heart Movie Review By:Windy

Crazy Heart Movie Review By:Windy SandwichJohnFilms Residential movie reviewer went out and saw Crazy Heart and came in with this review. Also stop by Windy's home page and let her know what a great job she is doing. And this ain’t no place for the weary kind And this ain’t no place to lose your mind And this ain’t no place to fall behind Pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try “Crazy Heart”, starring Jeff Bridges, opens with Bridges’ familiar tin singing a country tune. His voice is immediately recognizable and the melody of the song sets the tone for the film: lost, somber, perhaps even helpless. Bad Blake, as Bridges’ character is known in the film, is a stereotypical down-and-out country singer who’s had one too many whiskeys, way too many women, and far too many years without a hit. He isn’t pretty to look at – disheveled, pants unbuttoned, visibly drunk and at times stumbling. However, Bridges brings a unique honesty and humbleness to the role. He’s an actor w
