Rumor: The Avengers To Battle The Skrulls & The Kree

Would You Like To See This? Marvel Studios behemoth The Avengers will begin shooting in Albuquerque, N.M., next spring, and a local newspaper has possibly revealed some blockbuster news about the storyline. An Albuquerque resident and Ain't It Cool News reader picked up a copy of the Albuquerque Journal on Christmas Eve and, in a story about the production coming to the local Albuquerque Studios for a good six months or so, noticed this line: "The Avengers' script will blend Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger story lines as the Avengers battle with two alien races, the Skrulls and the Kree." The Kree-Skrull war has played a major role in numerous Marvel Comics storylines, centering around an ongoing conflict between the somewhat humanoid Kree and the more malevolent, shape-shifting Skrulls. The battle has come to Earth repeatedly, with the Skrulls impersonating both superheroes and figures in the highest reaches of government. The Journa

Jon Favreau to Direct Magic Kingdom For Disney

Jon Favreau Got His Mickey Ears On Jon Favreau is in talks to direct Magic Kingdom , the Disney film with the premise that the attractions at the venerable theme park come to life. The studio set the project up nearly two years ago and got a draft by Battlestar Galactica's Ron Moore, but a new writer will be set and work on a new draft under Favreau.  Favreau will be signing a development deal, because the project will percolate while he works on other big scale studio films. He just completed Cowboys & Aliens , the DreamWorks/Universal co-production that stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford . Favreau will finish that film for release on July 29, 2011, and he is expected to re-team with Robert Downey Jr . for a third Iron Man . Magic Kingdom is being produced by Strike Entertainment partners Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, and while the studio has previously tapped theme park attractions for films like Pirates of the Caribbean , this is the first time it has created a movie

Ruffalo Hulk In Upcoming Avengers Film To Be Mo-Cap

No CGI For Ruffalo In Upcoming Avengers Film In the two Incredible Hulk movies of the past decade, stars Edward Norton and Eric Bana played Bruce Banner but let the effects crew worry about the big green guy. In Marvel's upcoming The Avengers, though, Mark Ruffalo will actually play the Hulk: "I'm really excited. No one's ever played the Hulk exactly, they've always done CGI,"  "They're going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture.  So I'll actually play the Hulk. That'll be fun." But he's nearly as excited about playing Banner: "I really love the first TV version of it, the Bill Bixby one," Ruffalo told us. "I'm gonna shoot for that a little bit. He was an everyman in it. He's always on the run and trying to find love. It's really a sympathetic character, before he turns into the Hulk and fucks everything up." Also, if you needed one more reason to be excited for Avengers, Ruffalo te

The logline is being kept under wraps, although it is known Holmes will face off against Moriarty. Also making an appearance will be Holmes' brother, Mycroft. Shia LaBeouf #1 On Forbes List

Shia LaBeouf Is Money In The Bank Shia LaBeouf is money in the bank for the second year in a row. Forbes has has put out this years list. For every dollar Shia LaBeouf is paid, the movie he appears in earns an $81 in profit. I would buy his stock if they were for sale. Now I am sure it has to do with the movies that he has starred in the last two years, like " Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ," good for $787 million worldwide, and " Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ," which brought in $836 million worldwide. Anne Hathaway lcame is second, which might be a surprise to some, but with  " Alice in Wonderland " took in $1 billion  worldwide and, to an obviously lesser degree, " Bride Wars ," which brought in $115 million. Hathaway's movies generate $64 in profit for each $1 she earns. Rounding out the Top 5 were Daniel Radcliffe ($61 in profit for each $1 paid), Robert Downey Jr . ($33) and Cate Blanchett ($27).

"It is true that the movie is only going to have one female avenger", But she will not be the only female character". With speculation swirling around that Marvel Studios may be considering British actress Alice Eve for a minor villain role, affirms that Johansson's Black Widow won't be the only female in the film. Terrence Howard: Recommended Robert Downey Jr. For Iron Man

Terrence Howard: Recommended Robert Downey Jr. For Iron Man Terrence Howard is taking credit for Robert Downey Jr. Getting the role to play Tony Stark in the Iron Man films. I highly doubt that Howard had any say in the casting of Downey in the Iron Man films, but you never know. "For me to have recommended him, it means all the more so that I helped someone get to where they are supposed to go," the Crash star continued. "Marvel and I are now talking about doing some other things. And Don Cheadle wanted to play that part before I wanted to play it, so everything is very well." Then he went on to dispel any notion that he had a falling out with the studio or director Jon Favreau. "Despite the customary idea or thought that there's some controversy, it was a wonderful split and I know that they've done well," Howard claimed. "Robert Downey Jr. was born to play that part and it was wonderful that that part has given him the stature

Robert Downey Jr Talks Due Date And Sherlock Holmes 2

Robert Downey Jr Talks Due Date And Sherlock Holmes 2 Moviehole got a chance to talk to Robert Downey Jr about his upcoming movie DUE DATE , and Robert told them it's the second greatest movie he’s ever done.. So what is the first? “I’ve seen the movie. It’s like the second greatest movie I’ve ever done – largely due to Zach Galifianakis, who is crazy good in every scene, and Todd Phillips, who is just one of the great American directors. I guarantee you’re going to love it – I went to the last screening and people were literally saying ‘Oh my god, It’s gotta stop – my face hurts!’ Downey says Galifianakis doesn’t necessarily improvise in the film he “just does what he wants- whether the scene needs it or not”. The actor said he had constantly ask his juvenile co-star, who he jokingly said acted like a children that just “did what he wants” at any time on the set, if “he needed to go to the bathroom because we’re gonna be in the car for an hour”. Harrison Ford To Join Cowboys & Aliens?

Harrison Ford Joining Cowboys & Aliens? Latino Review claims that Harrison Ford maybe joining the cast of the upcoming Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens. Jon Favreau himself posted the following on Twitter this evening... "Some very cool Cowboys & Aliens casting news coming soon..." If true, the sci-fi spaghetti Western would be Ford's first foray into comic-book movies. Based on Scott Mitchell Rosenberg's graphic novel, Cowboys & Aliens is set in a Wild West made even 200% wilder by the presence of extra-terrestrials who enslave humans and slug it out with a united force of cowboys and Apache warriors. Hypothetically, of course, Ford would be joining up with Daniel Craig, who stepped into the role of gunslinger Zeke Jackson when Robert Downey Jr. pulled out. It's a grizzled-faced pairing to scare the hell out of any alien with a pulse. Late last week before the holiday break I got a tip from a source that Harrison Ford was about to jo

It seems like the film might actually lift off the ground.Robert Downey Jr. is negotiating a deal to star in Gravity, the 3D space film directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men and Y tu mama tambien). Tragedy strikes when he and a female colleague are working outside the structure, and debris from a destroyed satellite kills most of their crew mates. Daniel Craig In Negotiation To Star In "Cowboys and Aliens" DreamWorks and Jon Favreau are in talks with Daniel Craig to play the lead role in "Cowboys and Aliens" after Robert Downey Jr. ankled the project. Craig has been offered the role of Jake Johnson in the pic, based on the 2006 graphic novel about a group of Apache Indians and Western settlers who resolve to patch up their differences when an alien spaceship crash-lands in their city. Reps for Craig said it was too early to comment on whether the actor would board "Cowboys and Aliens," which Favreau is directing. Project is written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. While it is still early days and Craig has not officially accepted the role, the thesp does have a long-standing relationship with DreamWorks, having appeared in "Munich" and "Road to Perdition." Robert Downey Jr Will Not Be John Favreau's Cowboy

Robert Downey Jr Will Not Be John Favreau's Cowboy The actor, who had been poised to reunite with "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau for the science-fiction western "Cowboys & Aliens," won't star in the film. The movie, sources s ay, will still move forward with Favreau. But Downey has fallen off the project, and studio DreamWorks is seeking a new hero to replace him. Production is tentatively set to begin this year for a planned release in summer 2011. Originally a serialized graphic novel, "Cowboys & Aliens" focuses on outer-space creatures who land in Arizona circa the mid-19th century intent on enslaving the local population -- until a group of cowboys and Apache Indians fight back. (There was a further Iron Man connection to "Cowboys:" writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby wrote an original draft of the script.) Downey was set to play the gunslinger Zeke Jackson, who leads the anti-alien revolt. But scheduling issues -- Downey

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review By: Windy

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review By: Windy Windy has out done herself again. Coming in with a home run review! What would we do without her? Make sure to visit her site and let her know what a great job she is doing. "Sherlock Holmes", directed by Guy Ritchie, takes place in 1891 London, just as the well-known Tower Bridge was being constructed. The film is extremely fast paced in both movement and dialogue-too fast at times. It may have been the dialect of the time, but in 2009, the words become hard to discern. Kudos to Robert Downey Jr for picking up such a strong dialect, but it needed to be slowed for the audience. Downey Jr's character is well-developed, as we hear his thoughts throughout the movie, see into his home and learn about his techniques for solving mysteries. Dr. John Watson, played by Jude Law, is also well developed as Holmes' partner who has to balance life-threatening detective work, his friendship with Holmes and his relationship with his soon-to

"Sherlock" also served up runner-up opening day records for producer Joel Silver and leading thesp Robert Downey, Jr., whose respective highs are "The Matrix Reloaded" ($42.5 million) and "Iron Man" ($38.7 million).
