BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Django Unchained Teaser Poster

Yahoo got their hands on the first teaser poster for The Weinstein Company's " Django Unchained ", the next film from director Quentin Tarantino starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Leonardo DiCaprio . Django Unchained will be out on January 18 next year. Django , of course, finds Jamie Foxx as the titular former slave, who trains to become a bounty hunter and goes looking to rescue his wife ( Kerry Washington ) from the clutches of the nasty Calvin Candie ( Leonardo DiCaprio ). Kerry Washington Will Star In Tarantino's "Django Unchained"

Kerry Washington has won the role of Broomhilda in Django Unchained . Director Quentin Tarantino made his choice and The Weinstein Company began exclusive negotiations with her last night. She’ll play the long-suffering slave wife of Django ( Jamie Foxx ), who is freed by a bounty hunter ( Christoph Waltz ) and taught the tricks of that trade. Django’s real desire is to be reunited with his wife, who winds up in a variety of unsavory places and whose travails drive the plot. It leads to a confrontation in Candyland, a ranch owned by the notorious Calvin Candie ( Leonardo DiCaprio ). Tarantino had his eye on Washington from the beginning, but he was also intrigued with making a discovery in the role, and that led to a long casting search before the director went back to Washington for the female lead. Washington will next be seen in The Details, and she stars with Eddie Murphy in A Thousand Words. . Please Leave A Comment-

Hope Your Ready For Austin Powers 4. Cause It's On It's Way

Are you ready for another Austin Powers movie? I sure am not. Yeah the first two movies were funny but over played.   Mike Myers has had a pretty bad streak lately, Love Guru need I say more.   Shrek has been movie in the bank for him and small part in Quentin Tarantino's " Inglourious Basterds , now Hitfix is reporting that Mike Myers just closed his deal to return to the role. Yep. " Austin Powers 4 " is coming, officially. No word yet on who will be directing. I would hope Jay Roach returns as well, since I think a lot of the kick of the films is the '60s pop aesthetic, and Roach has been a big part of that since day one. There's also no word yet on a proposed storyline, but I will certainly start digging to see what I can come up with. Please Leave A Comment-

Kevin Costner To Star In Django Unchained

Quentin Tarantino never has trouble putting together good casts for his films, but his Sergio Leone-style Spaghetti Western Django Unchained is turning out to be quite something. Kevin Costner is in negotiations to join a cast that is headed by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio . Costner is in talks to play Ace Woody , and it's a real surprise turn for an actor most associated with good guy roles. He's the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes. The club and ranch are owned by Calvin Candie ( DiCaprio ) and Ace Woody is the one who pits the "mandingo" fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don't measure up. The roles that DiCaprio and Costner will play are every bit as sadistic as the one that Waltz played in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds, and whi

Jamie Foxx In Talks To Join Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained"

Quentin Tarantino has settled on the man he wants to star in Django Unchained and  now Jamie Foxx is in negotiations for the lead. Yes, despite spending weeks trying to lure Smith to star in his tale of a freed slave who goes up against a sadistic plantation owner to rescue his long-lost love, only for the actor to pass on snatching the role, the writer/director has been looking down the list of other possible candidates. And while Idris Elba, Terrence Howard and Chris Tucker all took meetings, it seems that Foxx , who has been mentioned before alongside the others, is the man. Leonardo DiCaprio is already attached to play the villainous Calvin Candie, while Inglourious Basterds’ Christoph Waltz had the role of Django’s friend and mentor, a German bounty hunter named Dr Schultz, written for him. Fellow QT regular Samuel L Jackson will be Candie’s right-hand man, Stephen. Tarantino hasn’t yet found the actress he wants to play Broomhilda, the love of Django’s life, though

Quentin Tarantino Next Project "Django Unchained"

The rumours have been buzzing like hornets for ages, spurred along by Quentin Tarantino dropping hints for years about wanting to pump out his own version of the classic Spaghetti Westerns. Despite earlier title and casting reports, the official word has now come down thanks to the front page of the script emerging on Twitter – QT’s next project will be called Django Unchained . There are no real plot details floating around just yet (despite the fact that the script seems to be in the hands of people who could easily spill such things), but given the title, it’ll most likely riff on Sergio Corbucci’s 1966 Spaghetti Western Django, which saw Franco Nero as a Gatling gun-slinger who goes through seven shades of hell. Nero has been linked to Tarantino’s Western project ever since he talked up the idea, so it’s probable that he’s going to be returning to the role. Unlike some of QT’s other actor obsessions, Nero has been working steadily, and continues to crop up in movies including

Russell Crowe The Man With the Iron Fist

Russell Crowe Knows Kung Fu? Hip-hop artist and actor RZA tells me that Crowe has signed on to costar with him in The Man With the Iron Fist , a kung fu flick the Wu-Tang Clan founder is also directing. RZA will play a weapons-making village blacksmith in feudal China—and as for Crowe, RZA doesn't want to say too much. "I won't spoil it for you, but Russell's gonna be the baddest man alive," he told me yesterday at the VMAs. "That man is in fighting shape. That man will knock you out." The Man With the Iron Fist (no relation to the Marvel Comic superhero Iron Fist) starts shooting in Shanghai in December. "It's nerve-wracking," RZA said of directing Crowe. "He's a master of the craft. I'm quite sure that I may learn something from him." Crowe and RZA worked together three years ago in Ridley Scott's American Gangster . They even recorded a song together, but Gangster producers decided not to include it on t

Michael Fassbender As Magneto Or Villain In Spiderman Reboot?

Michael Fassbender As Magneto Or Villain In Spiderman Reboot? Michael Fassbender had a hot year last year, in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” and this years "Jonah Hex". Now Fassbender is in–as his “Basterds” David Nivenish character might say, a bit of a pickle. He’s being pursued, I hear, for two different Marvel comics movies. Matthew Vaughn is said to want him for “ X Men: First Class .” Fassbender would play young Magneto , the precursor for Ian McKellen’s later character. James McAvoy is already signed to play Young Xavier. At the same time, Fassbender is being pursued to play the villain in “ Spider Man 4 ,” aka “No Toby Maguire Here.” Two different movies from Marvel, but two different studios: Fox for the first, and Columbia for the second. He can’t do both. Either way, Fassbender can’t lose. He’s got four films coming out in 2010 alone including “Jonah Hex.” By the time he’s a supercomic villain, he’ll be a bona fide movie star. Plea

Machete Has Found A Home At Fox

Machete Has Found A Home At Fox The auction ended late Friday night and I've been putting together what happened ever since. Certainly you'll recall the big cool quotient around Machete, that famously fake trailer by Robert Rodriguez from Grindhouse. It was considered the single best thing about that Weinstein Co double-feature flop that also included Quentin Tarantino's pic. Rodriguez' fake trailer hinted at a good story (Mexican day laborer is set up, double-crossed, and left for dead -- then starts everyone's worst nightmare) and carried an even better catchphrase ("They just fucked with the wrong Mexican.") Machete's YouTube video alone has 1.4 million views, which wasn't lost on Hollywood. The result was 6 studios all very interested in domestic distribution rights to Rodriguez' latest -- Sony, Lionsgate, Warner Bros, Fox, Paramount, and The Weinstein Co. Rodriguez had made the fake trailer into a real movie outside the studio system. Wit

Inglourious Basterds Prequel In The Works

Inglourious Basterds Prequel In The Works This weekend, we met with Quentin Tarantino, who was still in town after a MoMA Q&A with Elvis Mitchell this past Thursday. As if the weekend's snowstorm wasn’t inconvenience enough, his Hugo Boss coat — which contained his I.D., credit cards, and about $2,000 in cash — was stolen from the West Village bar Galway Hooker on Saturday. Taking pity on him, we paid for some French-vanilla lattes and mimosas the next day, and took the opportunity to ask him about his next film project and how Germans and Israelis perceived Inglourious Basterds. So, are we in for an Inglourious Basterds prequel? Apparently not yet — even though Tarantino says he has 40 pages of it written. He’s not giving up on the idea or the script, especially if the original film does well at the awards shows. But he’s got another project, which he’s keeping under wraps, coming first. It’s going to be “smaller, less epic” in scale than Basterds, and in a “different genre en

"Green Lantern" Offered To Quentin Tarantino First

"Green Lantern"Offered To Quentin Tarantino First Quentin Tarantino recently revealed to MTV News that he had the opportunity to direct "Green Lantern." "I was offered the 'Green Lantern,' " Tarantino told MTV News. "Not since it's been a script, but just like, 'Hey we own the 'Green Lantern.' Would you like it?'" Tarantino declined the opportunity and "Lantern" joined the list of other franchises, like "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," that he was offered but never ended up taking on. "Green Lantern," of course, is now being helmed by Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale") and will star Ryan Reynolds. "It wouldn't be an existing comic book character," he said. "I'm a writer. I'd want to use my imagination and not have to fight with geeks' memories of how this character should be and, 'Oh, I cast an actor as opposed to a bodybuilder' or it's not as

Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards Big Weekend

Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards Crushes Box Office This Week Quentin Tarantino’s WWII tale " Inglourious Basterds " conquered the worldwide B.O., which was welcome news for the Weinstein Co. and Universal as the pic opened to an impressive $37.6 million domestically and $27.1 million more overseas. Pic marks a key win that could yield a new franchise for TWC and Universal Pictures Intl., who are 50-50 partners on "Basterds." The timing is good for both companies. Investors have been putting pressure on TWC to shore up its financials, while U has sustained a series of box office disappointments. Worldwide opening of $65.1 million makes "Basterds" anything but. Sony’s sleeper "District 9" held up well in its second outing, with $18.9 million from 3,050 runs for a cume of $73.5 million. "District" and an unusually healthy crop of late-summer releases helped lift domestic B.O. revs as much as 27% over the same weekend last year.

Inglorious Bastards Movie Review

Inglorious Bastards Movie Review Review By:Chocolate Thunder This film is classic Tarantino . Inglorious Bastards starts off in Tarantino fashion giving us the credits in the beginning, with the cool 80's soundtrack playing. Also in Tarantino fashion the movie has a few different story lines in it that keeps you bouncing around the movie, but never lost. The movies stars are Brad Pitt as Lt Aldo Raine, Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa, and Melanie Laurent as Shosanna Dreyfus. The story imcumbuses the three lives into one explosive ending. There are some lovable characters that help to make the movie memorable. There are some very great moments of violence that get graphic, so if you are squemish, cover your eyes every now and then. Last thing, subtitles are all through the movie, if you dont speak German, French, or italian get ready to read. I give it 8 Sandwichs out of 10 Please leave Comment-

Is the Weinstein Brothers Ship Sinking?

Is the Weinstein Brothers Ship Sinking? I sure hope that Bob and Harvey Weinstein get their shit together. They have made some great movies in the past. But not putting any money behind them to promote the movies is Horse shit. You spend all this money to make the movie and then don't put anything into promoting it. Real Smart. Get it together and bring back the old magic that made this team on of the best out there. IN the wee hours of Friday morning, Quentin Tarantino stood in a West Village bar that had opened for him and his entourage — cast members of his new movie, “ Inglourious Basterds ,” and his longtime producers, Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Swinging a blue cocktail in one hand, he held forth about the time that Harvey told him he’d like to invest in a restaurant. The goal, Harvey explained to Mr. Tarantino at the time, wasn’t to schmooze, or to get the best table. New York City had just banned cigarettes from restaurants and Harvey, then an avid smoker, didn’t approve. “
