Fast & Furious 6  Blu-ray Review By: MattInRC Fast and Furious 6 is absolutely devilish entertainment on Blu-ray. And we're OK with that. Before I get into this review, let's get one thing straight: The Fast and The Furious films are not exactly The Italian Job, nor do they try to be. When you pay the big bucks to sit in a film like this, you know what you're going to get - implausible car chases that defy the laws of physics, bro-mance humor, and badass chicks driving fast cars while extras in skimpy clothes and knee-high boots dance behind them. And while it's not the smart, highly-detailed action/drama of a Skyfall , the franchise has matured over the years, settling in on fun action with enough story to keep things moving. As Fast and Furious 6 arrives on Blu-ray, the boys (and girls) are back with enough stunts and twists to satiate anyone's appetite, while every aspect of the Bu-ray release is nothing short of spectacular. Paul Walker sadly passed away three weeks ago. He was half-way through shooting Fast & Furious 7 , and the production team decided to take time off so that the cast, crew and Walker's family could grieve. Now, although no work is being done on the film at this moment, his co-star and producer of the series, Vin Diesel , has announced that the sequel will hit theaters in April 10, 2015 , although it's still not clear when production will recommence. That April 10 date means the burgeoning billion dollar franchise will have over a year to tweak the script and carry out reshoots before heading to cinemas. Diesel announced the news on his Facebook page, alongside a picture of the last scene the two shot together (see above). The making of Fast & Furious 7 was happening on an accelerated pace to meet next summer’s July 11 release date, but now the movie has come to a complete stop. The unexpected and tragic car-crash death of Paul Walker has led Universal Pictures to put a hold on the movie in mid-production. Fox International Productions is rebooting Hitman , the live action film adaptation of the hit Square Enix video game. They’ve set The Fast And The Furious‘s Paul Walker to star in Agent 47 , an action film that was written by A Good Day To Die Hard‘s Skip Woods and Michael Finch and will be directed by Aleksander Bach, a highly regarded commercials director making his feature helming debut. This gives a new start to Hitman , which was turned into a 2007 film that starred Timothy Olyphant as the genetically engineered elite assassin with the barcode tattooed on the back of his head. Woods wrote that movie, which wasn’t a rave with the critics, but grossed $100 million worldwide.
