DOROTHY OF OZ Movie Poster & Comic Book To Be Revealed At Wonder Con

Fans of the beloved “Oz” franchise will get a glimpse of the Emerald City with the official unveiling of the DOROTHY OF OZ , limited edition comic book Saturday, April 2 at San Francisco’s 2011 WonderCon. The comic, produced by publishers IDW and Summertime Entertainment, is the first in a series of five progressive books carefully designed to bridge the gap from the classic L. Frank Baum “ Wonderful Wizard of Oz ” tale to the upcoming 2012 release of the animated DOROTHY OF OZ , based on the book by his great-grandson Roger Stanton Baum. “There’s a lot of overlap in the worlds of Oz-lovers and Comic book fans, so we figured this was an ideal medium to help set the story framework for where next year’s DOROTHY OF OZ film will begin,” said DOROTHY OF OZ Transmedia Producer James Jones. “The comic series will continue to reveal what happened in Oz once the wicked witch was gone, and its people fell under the control of a new menacing villain. X-Men First Class In Trouble & New Photos

They should just call this week X-Men First Class week with all the news and images 20th Century Fox has released this week. Now we have some rumbling going on concerning the upcoming film. /Films  got a call from director Matthew Vaughn and he claimed that the Cast photo that was released was not an approved photo. But that is not the case, superherohype did alittle digging also and the images were sent to Yahoo!, MSN, Moviefone and IGN. This is the image in question- Vaughn went on to say- "I freaked out on them yesterday. I don't know where the hell that came from. I don't think it's a Fox image. It's not a pre-approved image. When I found out, I said, what the f*ck is this sh*t, and Fox is running around trying to figure out what happened as well. I agree. It's like a bad photoshop, which maybe it was by someone. It didn't reflect the movie. I was shocked when I saw it. I was like 'Jesus Christ'... Now the amazing scoop getter El Ma

New Pictures From X-Men First Class

The LATimes brings us three new exclusive photos from the upcoming X-Men Fist Class film. The movie posters promise that “X-Men: First Class” will be released June 3, but on Tuesday cameras were still rolling on the Fox film’s set and director Matthew Vaughn, making his biggest major studio feature film to date, sounded like a man running out of time. “I’m at that stage where I feel like a boxer against the ropes,” the director said as his crew prepared for the next shot on a location set in Long Beach. “I’m just throwing punches and taking them as they come and making sure I don’t hit the canvas.” In the pages of Marvel Comics, the X-Men have been the ultimate outsiders for decades — even other superheroes view the strange mutant crew with mistrust, prejudice and disdain. So it’s fitting that “First Class,” the fifth Hollywood adventure for the heroes, will arrive in theaters this summer with so much to prove and plenty of doubters. For the all-new cast (led by James McAvoy and Mi

Michael Fassbender Talks Magneto

MSN scored an exclusive interview with  Michael Fassbender who will be playing Magneto in the upcoming Matthew Vaughn's ' X-Men: First Class ' One of the summer films that the fan community is the most curious about is " X-Men: First Class ," which arrives in theaters June 3 and stars James McAvoy ("Wanted") as powerful telepath Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender ("Inglourious Basterds") as master of magnetism Erik Lehnsherr, two young mutants who join forces in the 1960s to make the world safer for their kind before they split apart and become, as Professor X and Magneto, bitter enemies. In other words, the film is a prequel to the three previous "X-Men" pictures (not counting "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"), with McAvoy and Fassbender playing younger versions of the characters first established onscreen by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn ("Kick-Ass") and also star

Alex Gonzalex Casted As Riptide X-Men: First Class

Alex Gonzalex Casted As Riptide In Upcoming X-Men: First Class Another surprise casting news. Director Matthew Vaughn has casted Alex Gonzalex as a mutant called Riptide . Riptide is like a human tornado that has the ability to spin his body at an incredibly fast rate. Upon reaching his top speed, Riptide then hurls shuriken and other objects created from calcified masses at such high velocity that they can punch through steel. The film stars James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier: Leader and founder of the X-Men and one of Magneto's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams. Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr / Magneto: Leader and founder of the Brotherhood of Mutants and one of Professor X's best friends until conflicts of opinion create a rivalry between them and their teams. January Jones As Emma Frost

January Jones As Emma Frost-First Set Photos INF Daily spotted Mad Men actress January Jones on the set of X-Men: First Class in Buckinghamshire, England earlier today. January was clad in her sexy head-to-toe “ White Queen ” costume: a short white coat, knee-high white boots, and a fuzzy white Russian hat. In between takes she added an ankle-length puffy jacket and bright rain boots for a splash of color. X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. But then “a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.” Please Leave A Commen

X-Men: First Class Film To Be Set In The 60's

X-Men: First Class Film To Be Set In The 60's While we’ve had a virtual avalanche of casting info for Matthew Vaughn’s latest outing, the prequel story X-Men: First Class , one element has always been noticeably absent: solid details on the film’s true setting and plot. But now producer Bryan Singer has called up Ain’t It Cool News to deliver some fresh intelligence. From this point on, we’d warn anyone reading that there may be mild spoilers ahead. According to Singer, this version of First Class will not be a direct adaptation of the comic book that bears the name. Instead, this will aim to foster the origin of Singer’s own first two X-Men films (and, to a lesser extent, Brett Ratner’s X-Men: The Last Stand). The story will be set in the 1960s, at a time when civil rights were a big issue and revolution was in the air. We’ll meet Professor Charles Xavier ( James McAvoy ) as a student at Oxford, and this younger take on the character will be neither bald nor in his cust
