The last time we reported on a casting story featuring Dominic Cooper , he passed on the film (Motor City) shortly afterwards, thanks to a scheduling clash. So the producers of action thriller Dead Man Down will be hoping he actually signs on. Dead Man Down finds original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo director Niels Arden Oplev reuniting with his star, Noomi Rapace and adding Colin Farrell for a tale of revenge and death. Farrell will be a grieving husband and father infiltrating the crime syndicate responsible for his family’s death who also deals with Rapace as a mysterious, scarred, beautiful woman who knows a lot about his past. Assuming he signs, Cooper will play Darcy, a family man who helps Farrell on the street. With prolific producer Neal Moritz aboard and a script by The Mexican’s JH Wyman, Oplev is set to kick off shooting next month. Many of those gathered at WonderCon --a smaller-scale Comic-Con held Saturday at the Anaheim Convention Center--arrived eager to see Fox pull back the curtain on Prometheus , director Ridley Scott's return to the sci-fi genre. The project is perhaps the most intriguing movie of the year, since very little is known about it even though it's scheduled to hit theaters on June 8. Many are still wondering if it's a sequel to Scott's sci-fi horror classic Alien, a prequel, or something else entirely. But this latest promo for Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic Prometheus doesn’t exactly hide itself. No, the clip of Guy Pearce pulling a John Hurt as corporate “visionary” Peter Weyland is well and truly tied into the film from the get-go. I thought the previous movie was enjoyable because it presented Sherlock Holmes in a new, refreshing, and renaissance form, a man with many skills, but watching him do his business again in the sequel is a waste of time and money. Robert Downey, Jr. ’s portrayal of the man who solves crimes by way of deductive and logical reasoning gets even more ridiculous this time around. He’s a complete buffoon, he’s gotten more careless than Jack Sparrow. And the bromance between Holmes and Watson has turned from hilarious to uncomfortable and disturbing.
