Zachary Levi has signed on to star in NBC’s Heroes Reborn , EW has confirmed. A relaunch of the original superhero drama, which ran from 2006 to 2010, the 13-episode event series will feature a brand new story, though Jack Coleman is slated to reprise his role as Noah Bennett, a.k.a. HRG. “We’re still keeping Zac’s role under wraps because everything is shrouded in mystery for this miniseries, but we’re very excited he’s been cast,” NBC boss Bob Greenblatt told reporters at the Television Critics Associations winter TV previews, noting that more castings will be announced over the next few weeks. A French trailer for Jason Statham 's latest Wild Card emerged online a few weeks ago, and it's followed now by a slightly more subdued affair for the rest of us. There are still plenty of glimpses of crunchy action, but the latest clip chooses to emphasise the dramatic elements in Vegas, with veteran screenwriter William Goldman's name given almost as much prominence as the Stath's. Nobody gets their nose broken with a backwards headbutt this time... Statham's third film with Simon West following The Expendables 2 and The Mechanic , Wild Card was originally called The Heat , and had Brian De Palma attached to direct at one point. Goldman's screenplay is based on his 1985 novel of that latter name (published in the UK as Edged Weapons), and was filmed once before to disappointing results. HRG is back! Jack Coleman has become the first Heroes co-star to sign on for Heroes Reborn , NBC’s upcoming 13-episode miniseries that reboots the popular 2006 superhero drama series. Heroes Reborn , from Heroes creator Tim Kring, will replicate the basic elements of the show’s first season in which ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities, though the producers are keeping details on the plot under wraps. But I have learned that Coleman will reprise his character as Noah Bennett aka HRG, or the Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses, a nickname given to him by fans before the character’s real name was revealed. Heroes alum Milo Ventimiglia is heading to Sony's digital platform Crackle . The actor, who most recently completed TNT's Frank Darabont pilot L.A. Noir, will star in and executive produce Chosen , a half-hour drama from creators Ben Ketai (30 Days of Night: Dark Days) and Ryan Lewis (High School). Crackle has ordered six half-hour episodes of the thriller that follows Ian Mitchell ( Ventimiglia ), a husband, father and lawyer who wakes up one morning to discover a box on his doorstep containing a loaded gun and a photo of a stranger he's instructed to kill within the next three days. The film is music video director Todd Levin's first feature. " Static " is one of the first low-budget features to be shot in full 3D. Levin will use a camera rig designed specifically for the producers and director to hold two Sony PMW-F3 cameras -- Sony's answer to the RED 3D camera -- and control costs. In the end, given the fairly high cost of the drama, the show's consistently declining ratings and the number of new hour-longs coming to NBC next season, the network decided the UMS-produced series wasn't worth an additional season. Heroes Season 4 Premiere Review By April Meneghetti The show opens with a funeral for the brother of the leader of a group of carnies that are going to have a big role this season. The leader is a man named Samuel played by Robert Knepper , who I loved in Prison Break. This guy really knows how to play the bad guy so that you like him, in a sick twisted way. We see our “heroes” scattered, living their own lives. Clare is away at college, Peter is back to working as a paramedic, Hero and Ando are back in Japan , Matt is back at the police dept, and Nathan (or should I say Sylar) is back to work as a politician. Is it just me or is there something off about Clare’s new college buddy? Does she have a power? Did she kill Clare’s new roommate? I guess we will have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, I don’t see Clare having the normal college experience. Peter is back to using his powers for good and saving lives. I have to say that I hated it when he lost his powers. The footage that I saw During Comic Con has got me waiting on Pin and Needles for the new season. I have been waiting forever to see Peter Kick some ass. They showed a great fight Between Peter and Ray Parks Character.
