The wait is nearly over for Transformers fans. Paramount has set June 28 as the opening date for Transformers: Dark of the Moon , which will screen exclusively at 3D and IMAX-equipped locations nationwide. “Michael Bay has created an incredibly engaging and immersive 3D experience with this latest movie, one that will undoubtedly be among the most entertaining movie going experiences of the summer,” said Paramount’s vice chairman Rob Moore. “Providing fans an opportunity to see it early in 3D is a great way to kick off the movie’s opening.” Those not wanting to see the film in 3-D will have to wait a day, as the movie opens wide from 12 a.m. onwards June 29. Paramount has bumped up the release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon from July 1 to June 29 . Stephen Sommers To Return For G.I. Joe Sequel " G.I. Joe " director Stephen Sommers will return to direct Paramount's sequel. There had been some doubts about whether Sommers would be brought back into the "Joe" fold, as there were conflicting reports across the blogosphere last summer that there had been some tension between Sommers and the studio, but the alleged bad blood appears to have been resolved. Channing Tatum is expected to reprise his role as Capt. Duke Hauser in the sequel, which is still in development at Paramount. As you may have seen me tweet earlier in the week, Chicago was given advance notice of street closures due to the filming of "Transformers 3" in the business district. So, I grabbed my camera and headed out. The streets where filming takes place are blocked off at least one block away on all sides and filming goes on for about a mile straight. Catching the actors (Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel) is tricky. There are no robots to be seen, but the cars that turn into Transformers are roaming the streets ( check out the picture below )!
