BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#Akira Film May Still Be Alive

Marco Ramirez will write the script based on the popular Japanese manga. “ Akira ” is alive and well at Warner Bros., which has hired “ Daredevil ” writer Marco Ramirez to adapt the popular Japanese manga, an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap . Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way banner are producing with Andrew Lazar (“American Sniper”) and his company Mad Chance. Warner Bros. executives Drew Crevello and Nik Mavinkurve will oversee the reconfigured project for the studio. Jaume Collet-Serra was set to direct “ Akira ” back in 2012 but Warner Bros. pulled the plug on the project due to issues surrounding the budget, script and casting. At the time, the studio had been in discussions with Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Ken Watanabe and Helena Bonham Carter . The original “Akira” manga followed two brothers in rival biker gangs who clash when one of them begins abusing his new telekinetic powers. Ezra Miller had been eyed to play Hedlund’s brother,

Shutter Island Series Titled "Ashecliffe" Coming To HBO

As the TV biz prepares to celebrate another ground breaking year tonight, underwritten in no small effort by feature talent, the remarkable thing to consider is how much more of this is coming. Here’s one that has great potential: HBO and Paramount Television are making deals to turn the 2010 hit film Shutter Island into a TV series. Tentatively titled Ashecliffe , the plan is for the pilot to be directed by Martin Scorsese from a script by Dennis Lehane, who wrote the bestselling thriller novel that Scorsese and screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis turned into the hit film that Leonardo DiCaprio starred in. Could Christian Bale Star In Travis McGee?

James Mangold , who directed Bale in "3:10 to Yuma," is directing the adaptation of the John D. MacDonald book. Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way banner are producing. The talks with Bale are in the very earliest of stages and the studio has not made him an offer for the role. But he discussed the role with Mangold, who directed him in 2007’s 3:10 to Yuma, and sources say he is keen to do it. The script is based on MacDonald’s 1964 mystery novel The Deep Blue Good-by. DiCaprio was at one point poised to star in the adaptation. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Could Danny Boyle & Leonardo DiCaprio Team Up To Make Steve Jobs Movie

Moving fast to replace David Fincher on its highly anticipated Steve Jobs movie , Sony Pictures is in talks with Danny Boyle to direct the biopic of the late Apple Computer co-founder. Boyle is said to have approached Leonardo DiCaprio to star. As The Hollywood Reporter revealed earlier this month, Fincher fell out of the project due to his aggressive demands for compensation and control. Fincher had wanted Christian Bale for the title role, though the actor was not signed. The film is to be produced by Scott Rudin and written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), based on the best-selling biography of Jobs by Walter Isaacson. The Jobs film could mark a reteaming of DiCaprio and Boyle, the star and director, respectively, of 2000's The Beach. Neither has previously worked with Sorkin. The departure of Fincher dashed hopes of reuniting the team behind Social Network, which grossed $225 million worldwide in 2010. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Top 10 Movies Of 2013. We Promise Lots Of Controversial Choices!

Top 10 Movies of 2013 By: MattInRC Maybe it's just us, but 2013 was a bit of a letdown for films - perhaps 2012 was so boss that almost any year would be considered dull ( The Avengers, Lincoln, Ted, Argo, and Skyfall just to name a few). But, there were several that graced our local rat-infested screens that did keep us awake through other duds like Grudge Match , Identity Thief , and Admission . As always, our list is generated on factors such as memorability, quality, and a completely selfish desire of whether we would pay to buy it or care to watch it again. Many Oscar films might win awards for their technical mastery, but how many of them would you actually watch more than once? Therefore, allow the chastising to commence! 10. Gangster Squad (Dir.Ruben Fleishcer) Plot: Los Angeles, 1949: A secret crew of police officers led by two determined sergeants work together in an effort to take down the ruthless mob king Mickey Cohen who runs the city.(via IMDB)

The Wolf Of Wall Street Review. Electric Performance By Leonardo DiCaprio

The Wolf Of Wall Street Review By: MattInRC  An electric performance by Leonardo DiCaprio saves The Wolf of Wall Street from becoming a coked-up hot mess. As the Oscar season and 2013 concludes, we're treated a rather raucous submission: Martin Scorsese's epic The Wolf of Wall Street , a big, overbearing, coked-up, sexed-up delight of bacchanalia proportions that it almost OD's on itself. This is Gordon Gecko's Wall Street tuned up about 50 notches; the question is, does that make for an Oscar-winning experience? The answer is decidedly yes and no. Based on the Jordan Belfort autobiography, the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the man behind the curtain, an investor and swindler with few morals who rides a wave of drugs, sex, and booze to financial ruin. At film's beginning, he's a wide-eyed stock lapdog looking for a break when a chance lunch meeting with an insane senior broker ( Matthew McConaughey ) opens Jordan's eyes to real wo

Win Tickets To An Advance Screening For THE WOLF OF WALL STREET In San Francisco

Win Tickets To An Advance For Screening For THE WOLF OF WALL STREET on Thursday, December 19th in San Francisco at 7:30. Revered filmmaker Martin Scorsese directs the story of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort ( Leonardo DiCaprio ). From the American dream to corporate greed, Belfort goes from penny stocks and righteousness to IPOs and a life of corruption in the late 80s. Excess success and affluence in his early twenties as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont warranted Belfort the title – “T THE WOLF OF WALL STREET .” Money. Power. Women. Drugs. Temptations were for the taking and the threat of authority was irrelevant. For Jordan and his wolf pack, modesty was quickly deemed overrated and more was never enough.
