The big-budget film Paradise Lost , which was slated to start shooting in January but was pushed till early summer, has been scrapped, I’m told. The epic-sized Alex Proyas-directed film about the battle between good and evil inspired by the John Milton poem was to star Bradley Cooper as Lucifer, Benjamin Walker as the archangel Michael, Diego Boneta playing Adam and Camilla Belle Eve , with a host of other actors lined up for the action epic. Legendary made the decision after trying to bring the cost of the movie down to $120 million, tops. The producer/financier spent low eight figures to get this far but had never green lit the film and therefore should not be on the hook for pay or play talent deals. It is possible that the film could return down the line, as Best Picture nominee Moneyball, American Gangster and some other pictures have done after being scrapped just short of a production start. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ 300 prequel hasn't found its male star yet, but the movie is zeroing in on its female lead. Eva Green has entered negotiations to play Artemisia in the movie, which is currently working with the title 300: Battle of Artemisia . Noam Murro (Smart People) is directing. The epic follow-up to 2006's Gerard Butler action pic 300 sees the Persian king-turned-god Xerxes lead an army against Greek forces, who have little training but are under the guidance of a general named Themistokles. (The giant battle at the center of this movie is supposed to occur at the same time as the fighting in 300.) Titans will clash for the third time, if Warner Bros. has its way. The studio, which is in post-production with Legendary Pictures on Clash of the Titans sequel Wrath of the Titans , is developing the next installment of the tales inspired by the Greek myths, even though Wrath doesn’t open until March 30, 2012. Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote Wrath’s screenplay with Steven Knight and also share story credit with Greg Berlanti, have been enlisted to develop and write a treatment for the threequel, which would continue the adventures of Perseus, played by Sam Worthington . Wrath again reunites not only Worthington but Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Danny Huston as Greek gods, and throws in actors Edgar Ramirez, Rosamund Pike and Bill Nighy among others. Alex Proyas is directing the action fantasy film, which stars Bradley Cooper, Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Ben Walker, Camilla Belle and Callan McAuliffe . Legendary Pictures is producing the action-oriented take on John Milton's epic poem about the war between angels in heaven. Purcell has been cast as Jerahmeel, an angel who falls in with Lucifer and ultimately becomes the Dark One's right-hand man as the renamed Moloch. Djimon Hounsou is the latest heavenly figure to join the cast of " Paradise Lost " for Legendary. Alex Proyas is on board to helm with Bradley Cooper and Ben Walker set to star. David Goyer has worked with Thomas Tull's Legendary Pictures on both Chris Nolan's Batman trilogy and the new Superman reboot Man Of Steel . Now the in-demand writer will pen the screenplay, from a draft written by David Callaham, for Legendary Pictures’ new version of Godzilla. The project will fall under Legendary's overall agreement with Warner Bros while Toho Company, which own the rights to the oversized reptile, will distribute the film in Japan. Toho’s Godzilla franchise boasts one of the most widely recognized film creatures worldwide, resulting in a series of books, television programs, video games and more than 25 films worldwide. Legendary Pictures is developing and producing a film based on Jackie Robinson , the first African American Major League Baseball player. Brian Helgeland (LA Confidential) will write and direct the project. "My family and I are thrilled to have this important film on Jack produced by Legendary Pictures," she said in a statement. Amy Adams  (The Fighter)  has landed the iconic role of journalist Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Adams joins    Henry Cavill , Diane Lane and Kevin Costner on the production, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," Snyder said in a statement Sunday. George Clooney Replaces Robert Downey Jr. George Clooney will star opposite Sandra Bullock in Gravity , Warner Bros.’ and Legendary Pictures' 3D outer space thriller that has become a game of musical chairs for actors. The initial pairing for the Alfonso Cuaron -directed project -- about a female astronaut struggling to survive and trying to make it to Earth after a disaster in space -- was to have been Angelina Jolie and Robert Downey Jr. Then came a protracted series of reversals that saw Jolie leave and come back, and actresses Marion Cotillard, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman involved with the movie to varying degrees, all within the last eight months. Downey stuck with the project throughout the various casting changes but in mid-November, just as things looked set with Bullock, he bailed. Warner considered scrapping the project but conducted a Hail Mary search for the male lead who, while doesn’t carry the movie, is still pivotal in the firs
