TV Recap: Game of Thrones "The Children"

TV Recap: Game of Thrones S04E10: The Children By: Sue It’s the finale already, and I’m just not sure anyone is ready for this. There is so much aftermath to be dealt with still, Tyrion and the battle at the wall are certainly on top! Let’s begin! Jon Snow marches out beyond the wall. Jon allows the wildlings to surround him, raising his hands in surrender as he goes to speak with Mance. They notice he’s wearing a black cloak again, and in his best batman voice he tells Mance that he’s come to negotiate with them. It’s a disappointment that he’s a crow once more, Mance tells him. He was always loyal to the night’s watch, Jon explains, he did what half-hand told him too. Mance asks about Ygritte, if he was enough to turn her, he wasn’t. Jon tells Mance that she put three arrows into him when he left, and she died. They drink to her. Mance is impressed with the crow’s efforts, they speak of their fallen, Mance’s Giant, and Jon’s friend Grenn, and drink to them. Jon tells Manc

How to Train Your Dragon 2 Review: Unexpected Twists Fuel Excellent Sequel

DreamWorks Animation hits animated paydirt with the very good How to Train Your Dragon 2 . DreamWorks Animation has hit a bit of a rough spot in the past three years. Although Mr. Peabody & Sherman ranks as one of the top animated films of 2014, the studio saw disappointing returns for 2013's Turbo and 2012's Rise of the Guardians . Granted, they do have the Madagascar series, but there's been the sense that DWA has been flailing in their search for a second franchise. Luckily, the very good How to Train Your Dragon 2 might just offer the studio exactly what it needs. Set five years after the original, Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) is grown up but not ready to take the reigns from his Viking father Stoick (voiced by Gerard Butler). To his dad, Hiccup is still a boy, content to soaring with Toothless the Dragon and hanging out with his girlfriend Astrid (voiced by America Ferrera). But soon, the two realize that rival kingdoms are gunning for their hom

TV Recap: Game of Thrones "The Watchers on the Wall"

TV Recap: Game of Thrones "The Watchers on the Wall" By: Sue Sam and Jon sit on the wall, gazing over, waiting for what they know is coming. Sam asks what it was like. Jon tells him that she had red hair, but that isn’t what Sam meant. Sam wants to know what it was like to love someone, since that’s the closest he’s going to get with them dying soon and all. Jon asks if he ever had relations with Gilly but he didn’t. Sam points out that there are many parts of their vows, but lying with a woman is not one of them, but it doesn’t matter because they didn’t actually do anything. Jon tries ineloquently to describe what it was like being with Ygritte and fails miserably. He sends Sam down to get some sleep, taking the watch all to himself. A owl flies to the top of the wall. The Warg is watching them. Tormound tells a tale around the fire about sleeping with a bear. Ygritte doesn’t want to think about the bear he didn’t sleep with. She’s more concerned with her arrows, an

Hearing Shae spilling her lies was too much, he fell in love with a whore, and feels stupid for thinking that she fell in love with him too. Tyrion admits that Jamie’s deal was everything that his father could have dreamt up, and it felt good to take that all again. Jamie though, is untouchable, he’s the golden child. Tyrion isn’t ready to give up just yet though, he survived one trial without Jamie’s help, and he may have to survive another. Jamie has been training, and yet he cannot do this.
