Learn what titles Fox brought to the CinemaCon table. Story by Matt Cummings CinemaCon has quickly become an event that highlights the top upcoming films, as well as upcoming projects. On Wednesday and Thursday, we saw news from both Paramount ( Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation/TGerminator: Genisys ), as well as Sony Pictures ( The Equalizer sequel). Not to be outdone, 20th Century Fox brought out its big guns, including a Matt Damon Science-Fiction drama. Titled The Martian , it follows Damon as a stranded astronaut who tries to survive on Mars following a crash. Ridley Scott is directing the film that also stars Kate Mara and Jessica Chastain - it currently has a November 25, 2015 release date, but that could change. The CinemaCon audience, made up mostly of theater owners, loudly applauded the footage they observed, as well as Damon's appearance via satellite. PARAMOUNT PICTURES TO DISTRIBUTE “ CAPTIVE ” STARRING DAVID OYELOWO AND KATE MARA. THE FILM WILL BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2015 Paramount Pictures announced today that it has secured the worldwide distribution rights to “CAPTIVE,” starring David Oyelowo (“SELMA”) and Kate Mara (“FANTASTIC FOUR,” “House of Cards”). The studio will release the film on September 18, 2015. Directed by veteran filmmaker Jerry Jameson, the film is based on the book Unlikely Angel: The Untold Story of the Atlanta Hostage Hero by Ashley Smith with Stacy Mattingly. Looks like the trailer for  THE FANTASTIC FOUR will be attached to the upcoming release for   KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE . But it looks like there might be some issues with the film. Rumor has it that Trank has made this film more like ‘ Chronicle 2 ′ rather than ‘ The Fantastic Four ’ reboot which is what the studio wanted. Latinoreview  has heard production might go into reshoots in Louisiana. But THE FANTASTIC FOUR screenwriter/Producer Simon Kinberg came straight to Latinoreview and cleared things up confirming the reshoot but he’s confident about the film. To confirm – Fantastic Four will be doing 3-4 days of additional photography with director Josh Trank and some key cast members. One of the most interesting films set to come out next year is the new Fantastic Four reboot with Josh Trank directing and a main cast filled with some of the better up and coming actors working today. Tim Blake Nelson is in final negotiations to join the cast of 20th Century Fox’s reboot of The Fantastic Four . Josh Trank is directing the movie, which once again focuses on the Marvel Comics quartet of scientist-adventurers Reed Richards ( Miles Teller ), aka Mr. Fantastic; his best friend Ben Grimm ( Jamie Bell ), aka The Thing; his girlfriend Sue Storm ( Kate Mara ), aka The Invisible Woman; and her brother, Johnny ( Michael B. Jordan ), aka The Human Torch. Toby Kebbell is playing the villain, Doctor Doom. Nelson will play Harvey Elder, an eccentric and socially awkward scientist. In comics lore, Elder is actually the Mole Man , shunned by humanity and leader of a subterranean group of monsters known as the Moloids.
