First Look Of James Franco In Rise Of The Apes

Here is the first look at James Franco in the upcoming prequel to Plant of the Apes titled Rise Of The Apes .  20th Century Fox has dropped a first look at an Franco, it's not much but at least it is something from the upcoming film. James Franco is set to play a scientist working on a cure for Alzheimer's by testing on apes. When test subject Caesar suddenly begins to mutate rapidly, the scientist takes him home to remove him from the cruel lab doctors. The movie also stars Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Andy Serkis and Brian Cox in an origin story that focuses on the engineering feats that advanced the intelligence in apes and sets off the war for species supremacy. Rise Of The Apes First Look A prequel to the original 1968 Planet of the Apes . The film will be directed by Rupert Wyatt and will be released on June 24, 2011. Unlike previous films in the series, the apes in the film will be created digitally using CGI technology. The photo below shows us James Franco, Freida Pinto and Andy Serkis filming a scene from the movie. Serkis is playing an ape in the film which is why he's sporting the motion capture suit. This will be the second time he's played a monkey in a movie, the first was for Peter Jackson's King Kong.
