Josh Brolin To Voice Thanos In The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

While the trailers for Guardians Of The Galaxy have shown us a fair chunk of the latest Marvel movie’s universe, a lot has still been kept under wraps, including the appearance / voice of “mad titan” and biggest of big bads Thanos , glimpsed at the end of Avengers. We at last know who will be providing his voice, at least, with Latino Review reporting that Josh Brolin ’s throaty growl will be behind the villain. Brolin has been the choice for months and has already been in the recording booth working on his voice duties ready for Guardians , which launches here on July 30 before heading to the US on August 1 Thanos , of course, was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the end of The Avengers, where his massive purple noggin is seen to turn and smile when told by Alexis Denisof’s Other that to attack Earth would be to court death. Since the comics' Thanos has an actual crush on Death and a notion of courting her, that seemed like an awfully tempting idea to him. Hi

Set Images From The Avengers: Age of Ultron. First Look At Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor-Johnson

The Avengers 2 on location in Aosta, Italy, where Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jeremy Renner are filming some major action sequences for the highly anticipated 2015 film. Now, how would you like to get up close with Hawkeye and “The Twins” in these revealing new photos from the set? We’ve already seen what newcomer ‘Avengers 2′ characters Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will look like, thanks to recently released concept art from Marvel’s ‘Assembling a Universe’ special on ABC, but the latest photos to leak from the ‘Avengers 2′ Italy set reveal Olsen and Johnson suited up as the super-powered siblings. Early details from the set reveal that the trio are filming a sequence in which they’re attempting to flee the villainous sentient robot Ultron (voiced by James Spader), but are swarmed by many of his minions, which we also briefly glimpsed through the Quicksilver concept art and set videos. While some Marvelites may seek to critique Johnson’s Quicksilver getup,

Marvel's Phase 2 Concept Art

ABC  aired a celebratory one-hour special called Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe , and with that came some glimpses of its upcoming Phase Two projects. Published simultaneously on Marvel's website are these pieces of concept art and snaps of test footage, showcasing Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Ant-Man and Guardians Of The Galaxy . Possible spoilers follow, so don't look if you don't wanna know. First up is Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron , giving us first impressions of Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, and a shot of Hulk and Black Widow by a collapsing building that looks not unlike something from the climax of Avengers Assembled. There's also an image doing the rounds of Iron Man putting his Hulkbuster armour to its intended use. That one isn't part of the official Marvel-released set, but hey, we'll throw it in anyway. Then we've got Edgar Wright's Ant-Man . These four

Paul Bettany Cast As The Vision In The Avengers: The Age of Ultron

Paul Bettany is getting an upgrade. The actor, who has been lending his voice to Jarvis , the computer program-cum-butler in Marvel’s Iron Man movies, has now been cast as iconic Avenger hero the Vision in The Avengers: The Age of Ultron . Joss Whedon is directing the movie, which promises to be chock-a-block with heroes and villains. The cast of the first movie are returning, which will now include Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlett Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver . James Spader is playing the lead villain, Ultron , while Thomas Kretschmann will play Baron Strucker . Bettany’s casting puts Age of Ultron and maybe even Ant-Man into a clearer lens. Ultron is a classic Marvel villain who was created by Dr. Hank Pym, who he looked at as a father figure. He eventually turned on Pym -- and humanity -- and went on to "father" his own creation, the synthetic orange-skinned android known as the Vision. Vision, in turn, rejects Ultron and joins the Avenge

Agent Carter Being Developed Into TV Show

The “ one shot ” short films featured as extras on Marvel movies’ DVD releases are becoming a hotbed for TV series ideas. After one such short, Item 47 on The Avengers DVD about the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., led to the new ABC/Marvel series, another one may also spawn a series project for ABC. Marvel is notoriously secretive about their development, and no one would comment, but I hear the company is working on a concept for a potential TV series inspired by Agent Carter , a one shot, which will be featured on the upcoming Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3. Directed by Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, Agent Carter brings back Captain America’s girlfriend Peggy Carter , Marvel Agent Carter TV Seriesplayed by Hayley Atwell , and chronicles her life as a budding secret agent after her boyfriend is stranded in ice. The project is in very early stages, one of several in the works at Marvel, and is in the process of locking in a writer. It is unclear if Atwell would reprise h

James Spader Cast As Ultron In The Avengers 2

Poor old DC.  Marvel with a casting bombshell that rains on its parade even as it mixes metaphors. What news, you ask? Only that James Spader will play the titular menace in Avengers sequel Age Of Ultron. Originally announced by writer/director Joss Whedon at Comic-Con, Age Of Ultron will see Tony Stark and the shawarma-chomping gang taking on a brand new threat torn from the pages of Marvel comic lore and given a spit-and-polish origin story wash for the big screen. Ultron is a criminally insane, rogue sentient robot dedicated to conquest and the extermination of humanity. He comes loaded with several powers, including, strength, agility, stunning intelligence and, oh yes, a rage-filled loathing for our heroes and an intent to destroy them. Bad robot! Bad! Spader seems like a fine choice to play the role, given his ability to play smarts, snark and menace when required. Plus he should have a proper handle on Whedon’s trademark snappy dialogue, assuming Ultron gets to be quippy. M

Robert Downey Jr Will Be In The Avengers 2 And 3

Robert Downey Jr . has re-signed to play Tony Stark and his shellheaded alter ego Iron Man in The Avengers 2 and 3 . It's exciting news and should put fans' minds at rest following RDJ's hints that he'd considering hanging up the ferrous suit in the near future. As recently as February, Downey Jr. confessed to having considered his, and Iron Man's future in the franchise. "There's been a death and rebirth of egos three times", he told Empire earlier this year. "The third one being in Iron Man 3. Tony's ego and to a certain extent my own as well, when he comes out of the cave he's been made anew, when he comes out of the wormhole, he's gone to a different level of commitment and I think on this one by the end he's transcended his need to be identified with being Iron Man." Iron Man 3's colossal success strengthened Downey's hand at the negotiating table, where we assume some juicy Tony arcs in the Avengers sequ

Joe Johnston To Direct Gotti Film

Mobster biopic Gotti is getting a second life. Veteran filmmaker Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) has come aboard to direct the film for Fiore Films' Marc Fiore and Radar Pictures' Ted Field, while Relativity Media has snapped up U.S. distribution rights. Gotti also will be heading to Cannes, where IM Global will shop the project to foreign buyers. Gotti stars John Travolta as the famed Gambino crime family head John Gotti Sr., nicknamed the "Dapper Don." The movie has been a longtime passion project for Travolta. "I'm looking forward to portraying John Gotti -- it's been a long time coming. And I think that Johnson is an exciting and fresh addition to the vision of the film. We are all looking forward to starting production," Travolta said in a statement. Added Johnston: “I think we’ve always been fascinated with the idea of the romantic outlaw. John Gotti could be in one instance a charismatic, kind and loving family m

Robert Redford In Captain America: Winter Soldier?

Acting icon Robert Redford is in negotiations to do his first comic book movie. Redford is looking likely to close his deal with Marvel Studios, THR has confirmed, and join the cast of Captain America: Winter Soldier , which will begin shooting May in locations around the U.S. Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the movie, which continues the adventures of Steve Rogers/Captain America ( Chris Evans ) and will focus on his relationship with sidekick Bucky ( Sebastian Stan ), who in the comics returns as the brainwashed assassin Winter Soldier. Sources say that Redford will be playing an older member of secret government agency SHIELD, and one source has compared the role as similar to the one played by Ralph Fiennes as M’s replacement in last year’s James Bond movie Skyfall. Early Concept Art From The Avengers

It might've ended up as one of the biggest hits of the year, but director Joss Whedon and company had some big decisions to make during the development of The Avengers . How should the new characters look? What about the massive battle in downtown New York? Now, thanks to some early concept art, we know how Marvel's magnum opus evolved. Several pieces of concept art generated by artist Andy Park have been released online, many of which were featured in the recent book The Art of Marvel's The Avengers , and they reveal some of the earliest designs for characters like Hawkeye and Agent Maria Hill. It's interesting to see the tweaks made to the classic comic looks compared to how it ended up on screen. Some of the cooler pics are the designs for Thanos in space and the alien attack on Manhattan, both of which look fairly similar to what made it into the finished product. Park has released dozens of images on his official website , which is well worth a lo
