Hoping to capture our attention in a big way today, Warner Bros. and DC have been drip-feeding little nuggets from the Justice League , culminating in a TV special that will launch looks at some of the new films and introduce a second Suicide Squad trailer. Until then, we have a logo for Wonder Woman and an image of the Justice League. First up is that logo for Wonder Woman to go along with the film that will pencil in a lot more of the character's backstory following her introduction in this year's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice . JAMES WAN TO DIRECT JASON MOMOA IN WARNER BROS. PICTURES’ UPCOMING AQUAMAN FEATURE Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that director James Wan (“Furious Seven,” “The Conjuring”) will take the helm of the Studio’s upcoming Aquaman feature film, with Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) starring as the sea-dwelling Super Hero. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Warner Bros. Pictures. Silverman stated, “We’ve been so lucky to have worked with James, first on New Line’s ‘The Conjuring’ and now on their upcoming ‘The Conjuring 2,’ and are thrilled to have him on board as we continue to expand our DC slate. The intriguing The Bad Batch – whose title really doesn’t give much of a hint as to its out there concept – already boasts Jason Momoa in the lead. Now an eclectic group of actors is joining him in the film, with Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey, Suki Waterhouse and Diego Luna jumping aboard. Annapurna Pictures and VICE are producing this one, with Ana Lily Amirpour as the director. Set in a post-apocalyptic Texan wasteland, the film is described as a cannibal love story where Momoa’s Miami Man has been subsisting by eating the people around him. Included as part of Warner Bros.’ big release date announcement for its DC Comics titles , the adaptation of Suicide Squad is already gathering steam, which is handy since it’s currently set as the first film to launch after 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice . And apparently the studio is pursuing Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie to star. The scribes are writing — separately — scripts for Aquaman , one of the installments in Warner Bros.’ multimovie scheme to create a cinematic universe based on the DC Entertainment characters. Aquaman is being developed on dual tracks, where studios and producers hire two separate writers to work on the same project in the hopes of getting the best version. The practice allows for release dates to be set while a project is still in development while giving it a muscular push. Warners needs just that as last week it dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020. Conan the Barbarian and Game of Thrones stars Jason Momoa has signed to play the villain in Wolves , the feature directorial debut of X-Men scribe David Hayter. Hayter wrote the script for Wolves, which centers on a young man ( Lucas Till ), who transforms into a werewolf and finds himself falsely accused of murdering his parents. He goes on the run, eventually arriving at a small town named Lupine Ridge that has a history of supernatural happenings. Copperhead Entertainment’s Steve Hoban, is producing whileBenedict Carver of Entertainment One is exec producing. The picture will shoot September in Toronto.
