Deadline is reporting that Jamie Foxx is in talks to board Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver opposite Lily James and Ansel Elgort . The film follows a crime boss who coerces a young, talented getaway driver to work for him. Elgort pays the driver, who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best. He must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. Wright will write and direct, with his longtime collaborators, Working Title co-chiefs Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan, producing along with Nira Park through her Big Talk Productions. The film is being co-financed by MRC and TriStar, with TriStar handling worldwide distribution. He is currently filming Baran Bo Odar’s Sleepless Nights, where he stars as a cop with a connection to the criminal underworld scours a nightclub in search of his kidnapped son. Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan are set to star in Sleepless Nights , an action thriller remake of French film Nuit Blanche, distributor Open Road Films said Friday. Baran bo Odar (The Silence) is set to direct the film from a screenplay by Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton, World Trade Center). The film will be produced by Vertigo Entertainment, with worldwide rights acquired by Open Road Films. Nuit Blanche, directed by Frederic Jardin, was released in 2011. In September of that year, as THR reported at the time, Warner Bros. had acquired remake rights to the title after it premiered as a Toronto Midnight Madness title. It’s a remake just for a remake sake. RAMA has delivered another great review. It is possible for a movie musical to show that the actors seem to be having fun on the screen, but unfortunately that fun is not shared by the audiences watching them. ANNIE is one of those movies. It’s a remake just for a remake sake, just so that the studio can have something they can call a new version, with new level of riches, billionaire with a ‘B’, just so that they can have something that simply exists. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the vibe or the hyper energy, but everything about this new ANNIE manages to make musical fans like me hate musicals. It’s a hard knock life indeed for us. There’s nothing wrong with trying to update something using a diverse group of actors, I’m all for that, but if you have a weak script with a runtime that’s unnecessary long, and songs that push you away instead of inviting you in, you’ve got a disaster in your hand. Horrible Bosses 2 uses the same comedic puzzle pieces to entertain once more. Horrible Bosses 2 might as well be subtitled in Latin 'Exactam" or "Perfecte" for its near exact copy of the 2011 original. For the most part, we seem to get Unfunny Comedy Sequel, riddled with plot holes and standing for nothing more than a quick cash-in on past success. “ Spring Breakers ” director Harmony Korine, for the first time in his career, has cast an Oscar-winning actor to star in his movie. Sources tell Variety that Jamie Foxx is attached to topline ensemble gangster drama “ The Trap .” Korine will write and direct the feature, which the controversial filmmaker behind “Kids” and “Trash Humpers” has described as “his most ambitious film to date.” Benicio del Toro is also attached to star. John Lesher and Charles-Marie Anthonioz are producing the film. Plot details on “The Trap” are being kept under wraps. The revenge pic is expected to shoot early next year in Miami. Following the success of of his last project, “Spring Breakers,” which earned Korine and star James Franco critical acclaim, more A-list talent should circle the gangster drama.
