Top 10 Films Of 2010

There Are Some Surprises With the year coming close to the end we thought we would wrap up the Top Ten films of 2010 . The list ranges from A toy in a box to sexy vampires, a boy wizard, a green ogre and even a titan if you can believe that.  I was surprised to see some of the box office totals for these film. Check out the list after the Jump.. 1.Toy Story 3 The Pixar threequel, shot in 3D, grossed $1.1 billion at the box office . Domestically, it grossed a handy $415 million. The news overseas was even better, where Toy Story 3 grossed $648.1 million. Not bad for a franchise that took a decade-long hiatus. The extra charge for a 3D ticket no doubt boosted the bottom line for Pixar and Disney. 2. Alice in Wonderland In the months leading up to the release of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, there was rampant speculation about whether audiences would embrace Tim Burton’s retelling of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale. The movie became a hit, and had impressive playability. Domestic

Tom Hardy Cast As Lead In Batman 3

What Role Will Tom Hardy Play In Batman 3? While Tom Hardy 's plan to play Mad Max in the George Miller-directed Mad Max: Fury Road has hit another delay, the fast-rising Hardy's in the mix for another big film at Warner Bros. I'm told that Hardy has been set by his Inception director Chris Nolan for a lead role in the next Batman film at Warner Bros. Insiders are keeping the role secret and won't even say if he's up for a villain role, but that seems a reasonable assumption. Hardy has followed up Inception with lead roles in the Tomas Alfredson-directed adaptation of the John Le Carre novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and he's currently starring with Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon in the McG-directed Fox comedy This Means War . The Other Guys Takes Down Inception

The Other Guys Takes Down Inception The US box office charts this weekend were taken over by a pair of bumbling, enthusiastic cops as Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and director Adam McKay drove The Other Guys to the top spot and knocked the brain-itching former champ Inception down to second place. Ferrell in particular will be happy with the result, as it’s his most successful film for a while, notching up $35.6 million in its first three days. Chris Nolan won’t be too broken-hearted, though – Inception still managed to do decent business, raking in $18.6 million and placing well ahead of the week’s other wide new entry, Step Up 3D . The third dimension didn’t seem to boost to dance pic, which opened with $15.5 million. The remainder of the top five was made up of Salt , with $11.1 million, and Dinner for Schmucks , which dropped from second place with $10.5 million. Thanks to Schmucks, the middle of the charts is a Steve Carell-fest, with Despicable Me still showing strong legs,

"X-Men: First Class"Gets A Rewrite

"X-Men: First Class"Gets A Rewrite Director Matthew Vaughn is hard at work on " X-Men: First Class " in London but he took some time out Sunday to catch a screening of " Inception ." He enjoyed the Christopher Nolan epic immensely -- even though it prompted him to scrap a dozen pages of the " First Class " script. "I saw 'Inception,' which I loved," Vaughn said Monday. "But my heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards." X-Men projections The jettisoned sequence was a sort of dream-space combat, according to Vaughn; that reminded me of "psi war" scenes like the one here on the right from " The Uncanny X-Men" No. 117 way back in 1979, but the filmmaker said for the film the fight involving Professor X ( Ja

Inception Is On Top Again For Third Week

Inception Is On Top Again For Third Week It looked like Dinner for Schmucks might actually be enough to topple the current box office champion, Inception. But by the end of play Sunday, Christopher Nolan’s Cobb and the team pulled off another victory to give the dream thieves a third week atop the charts in the States, Inception nabbing $27.5 million and the Schmucks running away with $23.3 million. Salt slipped down to third place, taking $19.2 million, while Despicable Me stole $15.5 million for fourth. But even the kiddie/3D cash boost factor couldn’t save Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore , with the animal spies sequel bringing in just $12.5 million, which hopefully means this might be the end for the franchise. That said, given the nine-year wait between the first two, maybe we should be wary that, like a horror movie villain, another one could spring up in a decade. Zac Efron won’t be too thrilled either: his latest stab at grown-up filmmaking respecta

New Inception Photo Starring Leonardo DiCaprio

New Inception Photo Starring Leonardo DiCaprio It's fair to say Christopher Nolan is keeping the storyline of the meta-thriller close to his chest. What we do know is it features corporate espionage, is set partly in "the architecture of the mind", blurs dreams and reality, and features cast that also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine, Ellen Page, Ken Wanatabe, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Tom Berenger. Christopher Nolan's Inception Poster

Christopher Nolan's Inception Poster-Leonaro DiCaprio In High Waters The first official poster for Christopher Nolan's Inception has been discovered in a new viral mini-game. I hope this is a sign of things to come, as the viral for The Dark Knight was the best we've ever seen, and I want to see more virals like that. The poster is a similar design to the Joker poster from TDK but this time it has Leonaro DiCaprio facing away from us standing in knee-deep water rushing into a city. No, this isn't another Roland Emmerich disaster movie, this is part of someone's dreams or imagination. That doesn't really explain much, but it's still cool to see. More info on the viral can be found beneath the poster below. A thriller set within the architecture of the mind about a CEO who is involved in a blackmailing scandal. Inception is both written and directed by acclaimed Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Pr
