We’ve already seen what newcomer ‘Avengers 2′ characters Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will look like, thanks to recently released concept art from Marvel’s ‘Assembling a Universe’ special on ABC, but the latest photos to leak from the ‘Avengers 2′ Italy set reveal Olsen and Johnson suited up as the super-powered siblings. Early details from the set reveal that the trio are filming a sequence in which they’re attempting to flee the villainous sentient robot Ultron (voiced by James Spader), but are swarmed by many of his minions, which we also briefly glimpsed through the Quicksilver concept art and set videos. While some Marvelites may seek to critique Johnson’s Quicksilver getup,

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Leads Into The Avengers: Age of Ultron

“ Captain America: The Winter Soldier ” will “set critical events in motion” that will lead directly into next year’s “ The Avengers: Age of Ultron ,” The Walt Disney Company CEO and Chairman Robert Iger told investors and analysts Wednesday. In addition, the Disney chief said that the parts of the “ Captain America ” sequel’s plot will be reflected in ABC’s “ Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D .” It continues Disney’s transmedia strategy, an approach that weaves a narrative across multiple media platforms, spanning movies, television shows, comics and social media outlets. The company has used this approach in previous Marvel Comics adaptations, orchestrating “ Iron Man ,” “ Iron Man 2 ,” “ The Incredible Hulk ,” “ Thor ” and the first “ Captain America ” so they all bled into “ The Avengers .” The studio isn’t the only adherent. Sony Pictures announced last year that it plans to expand its “ Spider-Man ” movie universe and will produce spin-off movies based on villains and ancill

Paul Bettany Cast As The Vision In The Avengers: The Age of Ultron

Paul Bettany is getting an upgrade. The actor, who has been lending his voice to Jarvis , the computer program-cum-butler in Marvel’s Iron Man movies, has now been cast as iconic Avenger hero the Vision in The Avengers: The Age of Ultron . Joss Whedon is directing the movie, which promises to be chock-a-block with heroes and villains. The cast of the first movie are returning, which will now include Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlett Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver . James Spader is playing the lead villain, Ultron , while Thomas Kretschmann will play Baron Strucker . Bettany’s casting puts Age of Ultron and maybe even Ant-Man into a clearer lens. Ultron is a classic Marvel villain who was created by Dr. Hank Pym, who he looked at as a father figure. He eventually turned on Pym -- and humanity -- and went on to "father" his own creation, the synthetic orange-skinned android known as the Vision. Vision, in turn, rejects Ultron and joins the Avenge

Extended Captain America: The Winter Soldier Trailer

This year’s Super Bowl seems like the perfect launching point for the new, and possibly final, Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer . Both come wrapped in the Stars and Stripes and both feature a clash between powerful forces. There’s much more at stake in Steve Rogers’ latest adventure, though… Blending some of what we’ve seen already – the mysterious Winter Soldier , Chris Evans' Cap butting heads with S.H.I.E.L.D. brass including Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Alexander Pierce ( Robert Redford ) – this second full promo goes further, with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow explaining the legend that has been swirling around the Soldier, and Cap talking about his abilities. There’s plenty more action here, with Rogers taking on both the Soldier and other enemies – as he explains to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon , the bad guys are anyone who is shooting at them – and all the running, jumping, shield-chucking, Helicarrier-breaking mayhem you might want. And yes, that

Georges St-Pierre As Georges Batroc Image

Here are new images from Captain America: The Winter Soldier . We get our first look at Georges St-Pierre as Georges Batroc. Directing the film is the team of Anthony and Joe Russo (“Welcome to Collinwood”) from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) & Stephen McFeely (“Captain America: The First Avenger”). Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” returns Chris Evans (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”) as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with Scarlett Johansson (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 2”) as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 2”) as Nick Fury. In addition, film icon Robert Redford has joined the all-star cast as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release in the U.S. on April 4, 2014. “ Captain America: The Winter Soldier ” will

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Character Posters

Nature's Black Widows aren't well-known for their flying abilities, but it looks like Marvel's Scarlett Johansson version is perfectly happy in mid-air, making your jaw drop. She's the star of one of three new Captain America: The Winter Soldier character posters, and you'll want to look at all of them ASAP. What can we take from these? Well, Black Widow seems to have gone on the Photoshop diet, but aside from her unlikely waist looks pretty darn cool. Nick Fury's signature cool overcoat is looking more serious of purpose than ever. And Cap seems weighed down by the cares of the modern world, and also the shield on his back. As these one-sheets hint, the new adventures of the First Avenger will be a bit darker and more morally confused than its Stars-and-Stripes waving predecessor. This time, Steve Rogers ( Chris Evans ), AKA Cap, discovers something rotten in the state of S.H.I.E.L.D., and also has to deal with the reappearance of his old friend Buck

Captain America 3 Could Be On It's Way

Marvel is still focusing on “ Captain America: The Winter Soldier ,” which arrives in April, but sources tell Variety that Anthony and Joe Russo will be back in the director’s chair for a third installment, even though the film hasn’t officially been greenlit. Marvel and Russo’s reps had no comment. Negotiations wouldn’t begin untill after “ Winter Soldier ” bows but sources say Marvel has been so impressed with the production of the film, as well as with strong results from recent test screenings, that the studio has moved fast to attach the brothers to the next installment. Since many of the actors have options for a third installment, a threequel is likely in the cards as long as “Winter Soldier” performs well. A writer and release date are still pending for “ Captain America 3 ″ but sources say Marvel and the Russos are already putting together an outline of what the third film’s story arc would look like. Kevin Feige will produce with Chris Evans returning in the title

New Images From Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Sequels are often darker than their predecessors, but Captain America is taking that literally in The Winter Soldier , swapping his star-spangled uniform for a darker grey suit. Perhaps it's no wonder that he's feeling gloomy, with his old pal Bucky transformed into the titular Winter Soldier and the odds stacked against him. Here are some exclusive new pictures from the film that appear in the new February issue of Empire magazine (out Tuesday, December 31). So there you get a look at Captain America's new duds; Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow running full tilt for, er, important reasons; Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier holding Cap's shield (clutch your pearls in horror now, everyone!) and Robert Redford's Alexander Pierce laying down the law (it seems) to S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). See all the images after the Jump... Please Leave A Comment- Source- Empire

Agent Carter Being Developed Into TV Show

The “ one shot ” short films featured as extras on Marvel movies’ DVD releases are becoming a hotbed for TV series ideas. After one such short, Item 47 on The Avengers DVD about the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., led to the new ABC/Marvel series, another one may also spawn a series project for ABC. Marvel is notoriously secretive about their development, and no one would comment, but I hear the company is working on a concept for a potential TV series inspired by Agent Carter , a one shot, which will be featured on the upcoming Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3. Directed by Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, Agent Carter brings back Captain America’s girlfriend Peggy Carter , Marvel Agent Carter TV Seriesplayed by Hayley Atwell , and chronicles her life as a budding secret agent after her boyfriend is stranded in ice. The project is in very early stages, one of several in the works at Marvel, and is in the process of locking in a writer. It is unclear if Atwell would reprise h

James Spader Cast As Ultron In The Avengers 2

Poor old DC.  Marvel with a casting bombshell that rains on its parade even as it mixes metaphors. What news, you ask? Only that James Spader will play the titular menace in Avengers sequel Age Of Ultron. Originally announced by writer/director Joss Whedon at Comic-Con, Age Of Ultron will see Tony Stark and the shawarma-chomping gang taking on a brand new threat torn from the pages of Marvel comic lore and given a spit-and-polish origin story wash for the big screen. Ultron is a criminally insane, rogue sentient robot dedicated to conquest and the extermination of humanity. He comes loaded with several powers, including, strength, agility, stunning intelligence and, oh yes, a rage-filled loathing for our heroes and an intent to destroy them. Bad robot! Bad! Spader seems like a fine choice to play the role, given his ability to play smarts, snark and menace when required. Plus he should have a proper handle on Whedon’s trademark snappy dialogue, assuming Ultron gets to be quippy. M
