Here is the new trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation that will be shown during the Superbowl. Little has been revealed about the plot other than that it will feature the G.I. Joe Team coming into a conflict with Zartan, Storm Shadow and Firefly. Zartan (who is last seen in disguise as the President of the United States) has now got the world leaders all under his thumb, warheads headed towards innocent populaces, and some new heavies on the payroll to keep G.I. Joe at bay. G.I. Joe: Retaliation is directed by Jon M. Chu and stars Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Joseph Mazzello,Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Walton Goggins, Johnathan Pryce, Byung-hun Lee, RZA, and D.J. Cotrona . Dwayne Johnson has become attached to star in Monster Hunter’s Survival Guide , a live action adventure film based on the comic book miniseries by John Paul Russ that was published by Zenescope Entertainment. The film will be produced by Simon Kinberg through his Genre Films shingle. The book series is a comprehensive guide to hunt monsters, the undead and unnatural beasts, and survive the confrontations. Johnson has had quite a rebound year. He joined the cast of Fast Five and helped the film to more than $626 million in worldwide box office, and he revived his Rock persona in the wrestling ring, hosting WrestleMania XXVII. Now, he’s back in the ring and is the main event for Sunday’s Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden, which sold out in 90 minutes. Bruce Willis in talks to join the cast of Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation , with the veteran action actor marked to play the original Joe. Willis, if a deal comes together, would play General Joe Colton , the man who in 1980s comic books starts the G.I. Joe strike team, called the ultimate freedom fighting force, and got the handle G.I. Joe. Jon M. Chu is directing the Lorenzo di Bonaventura-produced action movie, which is bringing a mostly new cast to the franchise. Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and RZA are among the recruits for the second film. The movie begins shooting later this month in New Orleans. Paramount has staked out a June 29, 2012 release date. Thor actor Ray Stevenson has been cast as villain Firefly in Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes . The action movie, to be directed by Jon M. Chu, begins shooting in Louisiana at the end of summer and is slated for release in August 2012. Stevenson will appear opposite Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson in the film, which is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and follows G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, a hit in 2009. Stevenson’s Firefly is a member of the villainous Cobra Organization and is known as a saboteur, ninja master and explosives expert. Other than Tatum, Cobra Strikes will feature an entirely new cast; in addition to franchise newcomers Johnson and Stevenson, the film will include Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, RZA and D.J. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has come forward to explain his intentions behind the Jon M. Chu directed sequel G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes . Dwayne Johnson , also known to some as " The Rock ", recently joined this new adventure as Roadblock . As Lorenzo di Bonaventura tells it, this new addition to theatrical franchise will be one of the movie's two lead characters. "It's a full-on lead role. In a way, he and Snake-Eyes, their stories are really dynamic and very important. ( Dwayne Johnson ) is such a great character to have in 'G.I. Joe 2.' It's an amazing combination. We would not be very good if we didn't fully utilize him, so he's going to have a lot of things to do. It is an ensemble movie, so you have other characters certainly playing it out." French actress Elodie Yung is in talks to join Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum in Paramount's new G.I. Joe movie. Yung will play a ninja member of the Joe squad named Jinx . Jon Chu is directing the movie while Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the action movie, which is rebuilding mode. A host of characters not seen in the first movie are being introduced, with martial arists Jinx being one. Johnson is in negotiations to play Roadblock while Tatum returns as Duke . Yung has already displayed considerable ninja-like prowess in District 13: Ultimatum, the parkour action movie whose highlight included a sequence in which she took on corrupt cops with a knife in her ponytail. The studio and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are rebuilding the franchise title and are bringing in a viper’s nest of new characters, which means that many of the players from the first one won’t be back. Lionsgate announced an August 17, 2012 release date for The Expendables 2 . The film currently has the slot to itself, with G.I. Joe 2 scheduled to hit theaters a week earlier on August 10. Sylvester Stallone 's first film earned an impressive $274.5 million worldwide on a budget of $80 million. While Stallone won’t be calling the shots behind the camera this time, he twitted the script, while still in development, has "a more hard edged tone- An Extreme case of Male-Pattern-Baddness".
