Dallas Buyers Club Review. The Film Is Sure To Be An Oscar Contender, But We're Not Happy About It

Dallas Buyers Club Review By: MattInRC Why does the raunchy Dallas Buyers Club have to be so...raunchy? The intense and rowdy Dallas Buyers Club is uncomfortable to watch, not merely for its story about a 1986 Dallas bull rider stricken with AIDS (a particularly good Matthew McConaughey ) and his attempts to bring medicine across the Mexican border, but for the line it crosses in the first minute. McConaughey's Woodroof is seen having sex in the bull stalls before a competition, while a fellow rider appears to die in the ring. For that time, such lewd behavior was probably normal, but soon he's using language that no reviewer can share to describe actor Rock Hudson's affliction and Woodroof's feelings about homosexuals. Cue the moment when a local doctor informs him that he too has contracted HIV, due entirely to a wild sex-drugs lifestyle that's left him emaciated and easily bruised. Woodroof decides it's time to seek treatment, which won

Charlie Hunnam Out Of Fifty Shades Of Grey Film

Christian Grey no more! Universal Pictures and Focus Features have announced that Charlie Hunnam will be replaced in the highly anticipated film adaption of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey due to his busy schedule. After a tireless search, Hunnam, 33, was finally confirmed on Sept. 2 to take on the lead role of Grey alongside actress Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. "So... The World's End Review. Add It To Your Summer Movie List!

The World's End Review By: MattInRC The appropriately-named The World's End is the funniest comedy of the year. If you've seen Actor Simon Pegg before his Star Trek: Into Darkness days, you'll remember him as the guy who created Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz , both hilarious takes on their respective genres. Since then, we've seen zombie and conspiracy flicks get a lot more serious leading to a 2013 Summer seemingly inundated with them. Luckily, Pegg's new project The World's End doesn't take itself too seriously, merging two seemingly unconnected things - drinking and alien invasion - into one of the funniest and most rewarding comedies we've seen in awhile. THE WORLD'S END Junket Interviews With Cast- Gary King ( Pegg ) is a washed-up drunken loser who can't seem to move on from his free teenage days. Institutionalized for a brief period and sporting the same 'trenchcoat fashion' from his youth, his best days are clea

THE WORLD'S END Junket Interviews With Cast

We had the pleasure of being invited to attend  THE WORLD'S END  junket in San Francisco earlier this month.  And who other to send but our main man Nic Souza. Mr. Souza (if your nasty) also attended the junket for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS in May for us. It was like Simon Pegg and Nic were best Friends when they sat down and talked this go around. The day after the San Francisco premier of the last entry in the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy The World's End , which was followed by a brief Q&A session with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright , Here is Nic's interview below: I sat down for a round table interview with the trio. Interviewer: Last night during the brief Q&A, you talked about wanting to show parts of England that weren't London. Then in your movies you have parts of England that aren't London have zombies, they have murderers, they have what we see in this movie. Edgar Wright: Which is basically saying, “don't go to England.”

Anne Hathaway Gets "The Lifeboat"

Working Title and Focus Features have picked up the rights to Charlotte Rogan's debut historical novel. Anne Hathaway is attached to star in and produce The Lifeboat, an adaptation of a book by Charlotte Rogan, whose rights have just been jointly acquired by Working Title and Focus Features. The story centers on Grace Winter, who is standing trial for murder in 1914. The young woman is both a newlywed and a widow, and she recounts how she survived the sinking of the transatlantic ship Empress with the help of her new husband only to end up in a lifeboat. The quandary, however, is that there are too many people in the boat and the survivors soon start talking about getting rid of certain people. William Broyles Jr., whose credits range from Apollo 13 to Castaway to Flags of Our Fathers , is writing the script. Hathaway will produce with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Liza Chasin of Working Title, along with Film 360's Suzan Bymel and Ben Forkner. Broyles will exec produ

Has Fifty Shades Of Grey Found A Director

After a lengthy search, Universal and Focus Features seem to be closer to starting production on their much-anticipated adaptation of “ Fifty Shades of Grey .” Several sources tell Variety that while no deal is in place, Joe Wright is the choice to helm the feature adaptation of the steamy E.L. James novel. Though some reports say Wright has not won the job, one insider very close to the production says he is the man. Universal had no comment. U, Focus and producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti had been looking for some time for a director who could bring prestige to a book described by many as “mommy porn.” It’s a tricky project since following the book closely would inevitably result in an commercially undesirable NC-17 rating, while going easy on the sensuous elements of the story could disappoint fans of the runaway bestseller that started as an e-book derived from “Twilight” fan fiction. The other directors considered for the job included “Monster” helmer Patty J
