"X-Men: First Class"Gets A Rewrite

"X-Men: First Class"Gets A Rewrite Director Matthew Vaughn is hard at work on " X-Men: First Class " in London but he took some time out Sunday to catch a screening of " Inception ." He enjoyed the Christopher Nolan epic immensely -- even though it prompted him to scrap a dozen pages of the " First Class " script. "I saw 'Inception,' which I loved," Vaughn said Monday. "But my heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards." X-Men projections The jettisoned sequence was a sort of dream-space combat, according to Vaughn; that reminded me of "psi war" scenes like the one here on the right from " The Uncanny X-Men" No. 117 way back in 1979, but the filmmaker said for the film the fight involving Professor X ( Ja

Twilight's Vampire Lands A Roll In X-Men: First Class

Twilight's Vampire Lands A Roll In X-Men: First Class Edi Gathegi, who played a chillingly evil vampire in Twilight and Twilight Saga: New Moon, is joining X-Men: First Class in the role of Darwin . That character, the first bi-racial mutant (in the comic series), has the power of " reactive evolution ," which allows him to adapt to any situation or environment. Plunged underwater, he'll grow gills, he'll gain night vision in pitch black and his skin grows fire retardant when burned. Gathegi, who played Laurent in the Twilight films, just wrapped production on the Paul Johansson-directed adaptation of the Ayn Rand novel Atlas Shrugged. X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has set James McAvoy to play Xavier, Michael Fassbender to play Magneto, Alice Eve as Emma Frost, Nicholas Hoult to play Beast, Jennifer Lawrence to play Mystique, Caleb Landry Jones to play Banshee and Lucas Till to play Havoc. Kevin Bacon is playing the villain. Please Leave

Banshee X-Men: First Class Film

Banshee To Be Introduced In Upcoming X-Men: First Class Film Caleb Landry Jones will play Banshee in 20th Century Fox's origins pic " X-Men: First Class ," marking the first time the mutant has been introduced to the bigscreen franchise. Banshee (Sean Cassidy) is a fictional character, a Marvel Comics superhero who operates as a member of the X-Men. An Irish mutant, Banshee possesses a " sonic scream ," capable of harming enemies’ auditory systems and causing physical vibrations. He is named after the banshee, a legendary ghost from Irish mythology, said to possess a powerful cry, although the banshee spirit is invariably female. A former Interpol agent and NYPD officer, Banshee was always a decade older than most of the X-Men and had only a relatively short tenure as a full-time X-Man. He was, however, a mentor of the 1990s-era junior team Generation X. And in a second key casting, Nicholas Hoult will play Beast. James MacAvoy and Michael Fassben

Multiple Man To Appear In X-Men: First Class

Multiple Man To Appear In X-Men: First Class They are adding multiple characters to the upcoming X-Men: First Class film. And when I say multiple I mean  Jaime Maddrox, known to most fans as Multiple Man . Considering that this is the same source which clued me in to Benjamin Walker's potential casting as the mutant student Henry McCoy (Beast) several weeks ago, I feel fairly certain this information is viable. For those of you unfamiliar with the character, here is a brief biography according to Marvel.com : ' Jamie Madrox's mutant ability was apparent at birth when a duplicate was created upon his being slapped by the doctor. Two weeks later, Jamie's father resigned from the Los Alamos Nuclear Research Center and moved his family to an intentionally isolated farm in Kansas at the suggestion of Professor Charles Xavier. From a young age, Madrox was given a special suit to wear that would neutralize his mutant power, but before this could be explained to him a frea
