Pain And Gain Review By: MattInRC Pain and Gain is a hilarious, irreverent look at drug dealing, torture, and sex toys in 1995 Miami. But is it worth recommending? If you've been reading this site for awhile, you know our love for the unique movie. Sure, we love our large-scale superhero epics, but we're also big fans of the quirky and dark comedy. To us, film should push the boundaries and this genre is perfectly suited for such expectations. With the arrival of the based-on-a-true-story Pain and Gain, we have yet another reason to actually pay for a film. Mark Walhberg (Ted) plays Daniel Lugo, a fitness nut at a local Miami gym with a penchant for smooth talking his clients into dubious and even illegal schemes.
