DreamWorks Martin Luther King Film Moving Forward

While other Martin Luther King projects seem to be on the ropes, DreamWorks’ untitled MLK biopic is starting to come together. Kario Salem, best known for writing the 2001 Robert De Niro-Edward Norton drama The Score , is in negotiations to pen the project, which also sees Warner Bros. coming on board to co-finance and to distribute with Disney’s Touchstone label. (Disney is where DreamWorks is housed.) DreamWorks acquired the life rights of the civil rights leader in May 2009, with Sam Nappi, Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones on board as producers. Not only did it secure the cooperation of the King estate, the studio also has access to King's intellectual property, including his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Warners, meanwhile, had been working on its biopic for several years and had a Salem script in deep development. Salem is said to have done three-and-a-half years worth of research and interviews when writing his screenplay. But while the DreamWorks and Wa

First Picture Of Hugh Jackman In "Real Steel"

First Picture Of Hugh Jackman In "Real Steel" Now I for one would not want to face this guy in the ring. The iron-jawed fighter is from the upcoming film Real Steel, the film stars Hugh Jackman and he will not be throwing any punches. The movie, directed by Shawn Levy (Date Night), imagines a world in which human boxing is non-existent, replaced by leagues of mechanized pugilists. It's expected to arrive in theaters in November 2011. "The moment of walking in and seeing these robots, my jaw was on the floor," Jackman said Monday. That's because the robot in this image is a real device, not a digital visual effect. Motion-capture animation is used in the film when the machines are brawling (with boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard working as an adviser on those), but 19 real-life animatronic giants were created for scenes with the human actors. Levy says that blend was encouraged by Steven Spielberg , an executive producer. (This is a DreamWorks fil

DR. Who And McLovin Join The Cast Of "Fright Night"

DR. Who And McLovin Join The Cast Of "Fright Night" David Tennant , best known for starring in the BBC series “ Doctor Who ,” and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are joining the cast of “ Fright Night ,” DreamWorks’ remake of the cult 1985 film. Tennant and Mintz-Plasse join Anton Yelchin as Charlie, a teen convinced that his new neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire. Toni Collette is the teen’s disbelieving mom, who falls under the vampire’s spell. Tennant will play Peter Vincent , a character who in the original movie was played by Roddy McDowall as the host of a late-night horror show. In the remake, he’s a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he’s less than helpful. Mintz-Plasse is playing Evil Ed, Yelchin’s friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire’s coven. The movie marks the first real foray into

Transformers 3 Plot Line And Of Course In 3D

Transformers 3 Plot Line And Of Course In 3D With shooting underway on a third movie and plans to debut next summer, Michael Bay and Co. acknowledge missteps with the last one and aim to upgrade the shape-shifting robot franchise with a more coherent story, less goofball humor and a pledge that characters who die will stay dead. It will also be in 3-D. "I'll take some of the criticism," says Bay, standing at a set built to resemble a dilapidated nuclear reactor. "It was very hard to put (the sequel) together that quickly after the writers' strike (of 2007-08)." Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura says the rush strained the plot: "We tried to do too many things in the second movie, which didn't give enough time in any one of them. We were constantly jumping to the next piece of information, the next place." Bay is not one for mea culpas, but he says he can do better. "This one really builds to a final crescendo. It's not three multip

Shia LaBeou Transformers 3 Back To Basics

Shia LaBeou Transformers 3 Back To Basics Shia LaBeouf says the second "Transformers" movie got too big for its own good -- but the third one brings the heart back to the franchise. LaBeouf, who starts work on the next "Transformers" sequel Tuesday, said the third installment will be the best one yet. The new script restores a human element that got lost in the second movie, LaBeouf said. "When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did," LaBeouf said in an interview Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival, where his finance drama "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" is premiering. "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone." Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Colin Farrell Joins Cast Of Fright Night

Colin Farrell Joins Cast Of Fright Night Colin Farrell has stayed away from studio films in the last few years, but now has found two he can sink his teeth into. I'm told Farrell has just committed to play Jerry Dandrige who is the neighbor/vampire in Fright Night, the Craig Gillespie-directed DreamWorks remake of the 1985 thriller that will also star Anton Yelchin and Toni Collette. In Fright Night, he'll play the role originated by Chris Sarandon, the charming bloodsucker who tries to cover his tracks when his young horror-film-fanatic neighbor become sure he's a vampire come to drain the populace. I can remember when the strong buzz off the Joel Schumacher-directed Tigerland convinced studios that the Irish actor was going to be the next Tom Cruise. The majors threw all kinds of projects at Farrell, with multi-million dollar offers. It wasn't going at all well at the box office for Farrell by the time he did his last big studio film, Miami Vice with Universal

Two Douches Will Not Make A Return In Transformers 3

Two Douches Will Not Make A Return In Transformers 3 Two of the worse characters in a movie will not return in the upcoming Transformers 3. Director Michael Bay posted a simple message on his forums stating that " The Twins are not back in T3 ."  He is referring to Skids and Mudflap . In related news, actress/comedienne Kym Whitley(Next Friday,College Road Trip) posted on Twitter yesterday that she's part of the cast.  "Working on Transformers 3 today, a little nervous...always when starting a new project. I have said the Lords prayer 12 times,"  In a hidden extra for the Blu-ray version of Revenge of the Fallen, Bay expressed his intention to make Transformers 3 not necessarily larger than Revenge of the Fallen, but instead go deeper into the mythos, give it more character development, and make it darker and more emotional. Shortly after the release of Revenge of the Fallen, Orci said he would like to introduce Unicron "for scale's sake",
