It's not exactly unusual for superheroes to team up. Spider-Man and the X-Men have done so on numerous occasions in the comics, so it should come as no surprise that they are doing so again - sort of - on the big screen. But surprise! There is an X-Men: Days Of Future Past clip in the credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , which marks a possible new era of collaboration between competing studios with Fox and Sony working together. Now this isn't a post-credits sting as we've seen before in the Marvel universe, setting up some sort of crossover between the two worlds. Rather, it's a clip from the X-film that gives us a taste of the action we're in for. We've been told by Sony that the clip will be attached to the film in the UK. There have been many trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 . This, the latest, is a whole three minutes long, and though it features plenty of footage we've already seen, it also has a decent chunk of new Spidey goodness. Pin back your earholes and prepare for a new dose of arachnid dubsteppery. This snippet comes very much from Jamie Foxx's chief bad guy Electro's perspective, with plenty of spooky monologuing going on, but there are still a few humour beats to enjoy, in particular between Gwen Stacy ( Emma Stone ) and Peter Parker ( Andrew Garfield ). Another day, another pointer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , as the drip-drop of posters, clips and information continues. The latest offering comprises three posters that show one of the film's set-pieces. Does anyone else feel like we might just possibly see a major Times Square showdown in this film? Jamie Foxx's Electro is in the same pose in all three pictures here, suggesting that he's been cut-and-pasted for the promotion and we shouldn't draw too much from what we see of him. What's much more exciting is the other grimacing face we see projected on the Square's jumbo screens. That's clearly Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, but judging by the drawn brows, the toothy snarl and the hint of a collared green costume, it's also the Green Goblin, and a slightly better look than we've previously seen. You may recall that in mid-December the first full trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swung online. Hidden within was a URL for a website (then called " electroarrives ", now mysteriously renamed " enemiesunite ") on the single page of which was a countdown to New Year's Eve. What would happen then? Now we know: it's a new teaser trailer for the film, introduced by Stan "The Man" Lee himself, true believers! Unsurprisingly given the location where it was revealed, the new clip expands on the glimpses we'd already seen of some Spidey-vs-Electro action in New York's Times Square. We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man . There are a number of scripts in the works” involving characters and villains in the series, Sony Pictures Entertainment chief Michael Lynton told analysts in a Q&A session wrapping up his operation’s first meeting with investors. But he didn’t offer details, except that Sony is “working closely with Marvel and Disney.” But lest fans of the Marvel world take that to mean that Spider-Man could finally join his buddies in an upcoming The Avengers or other Marvel/Disney film — think again. Sony’s longtime rights deal with Marvel for Spider-Man allows them to exploit any character within the superhero’s universe — including villains, girlfriends or even Aunt May. But Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009, owns merchandising rights to Spider-Man and those related characters, so any further exploitation would have to involve Disney.
