BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Michelle MacLaren Has Exited Wonder Woman

The invisible jet needs a new pilot. By Brandon Wolfe Michelle MacLaren, the prolific TV veteran, has exited the director’s chair of Warner Bros’ upcoming Wonder Woman film. MacLaren, who has cut her teeth on such shows as Breaking Bad , The Leftovers and Better Call Saul , has cited “creative differences” as the reason for the split in a statement. The Wonder Woman film, starring Gal Gadot, is set for release on June 23, 2017, and the character will make her debut in next year’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice . While unexpected director turnovers happen from time to time (even to the almighty Marvel ), such an early instance of behind-the-scenes tumultuousness isn’t exactly an encouraging sign for the burgeoning DC Cinematic Universe. Inside the Bucket Podcast #57

The newest episode of Inside the Bucket is online! Revel in the digital mastery! It's another fabulous edition of Inside the Bucket , as Matt, Brandon, and David to deliver the best movie and television news from our website SANDWICHJOHNFILMS.COM . On this week's show, we rub our eyes from the self-inflicted mutilations that are The Netflix Original Series Daredevil . Actually, we all really liked it, but listen to the show to hear why. We also discuss several items of news, including a possible director for Aquaman and reboots of popular 80's movies...because that never happens! Please check out these and other stories which we've included below. Later, the three go on their Rants and Raves, where they bitch and complain about all the things they're watching, following, and have their panties in a bind about from the week. Since there are no quality films this week (sorry/not sorry, Longest Ride fans) they review The Netflix Original Series

All Superhero Movies to 2020

We have the final, final, final version of the list. Story by Matt Cummings With the sudden announcement of the Sony/Marvel Spider-man deal back in February , the entire Marvel calendar was upended, pushing titles back and others out of the way. We wrote about this back when the news broke , but it's clear that the situation hadn't exactly settled. The addition of 2016's Gambit hadn't yet been figured out, which caused yet another wave of bloggers to hit the UPDATE button on their old stories. But it doesn't end there. Other news - such as the lackluster performance of The Amazing Spider-man 2 which forced Sony to seek out a co-partner in Marvel in the first place - also changed Sony's plans regarding Drew Goddard's Sinister Six , effectively ending its development for the time being. Not one to be left out, the all-new DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe) is also vying for our hearts (and wallets), and with news on that front happening nearly ev

Updated Marvel/DC/Fox Comic Book Film Timeline

Here's how the biggest entertainment news of 2015 affects the next five years. Story by Matt Cummings If you're feeling a little shell-shocked over the huge news about Spider-man finally joining the MCU , get in line. These days, comic book news is hitting us faster than a punch from The Flash and harder than The Hulk. With word reaching us about Spider-man, the entire Marvel release schedule has been upended , but it's also left a high-profile release completely off the list. Truth is, every Sony Pictures production of a Spider-man related property is now off the books, replaced with what appears to be a single universe shared between Sony and Marvel. But, we'd be in error if we didn't mention that there's still other comic book universes out there, starting with your friends at DC. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is happening next year, and DC themselves are moving forward with a huge slate of films, both team-ups and individual stories.

The Game of Superhero Chicken Continues

Here's why Marvel and DC's game of Scheduling Chicken needs to end soon.  Story by: Matt Cummings While Captain America: The Winter Soldier continues to rake in the box office bucks, an impending release continues to garner almost as much attention.  As we all know, a certain DC film will be premiering on May 6th, 2016 which is the same date for the next Captain America film.  Recently, Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution for WB, said the cinematic version of Chicken is still on schedule over at his studio: “It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16. However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for ‘Batman vs. Superman.’”  There's several levels which are readily apparent here, the first of which is more machismo than anything.  After the big delay by Director Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. is now locked into a brass knuckles fight with Marvel t

"The Marvel Plan" Through 2028

Here's why we like Marvel's plan to keep you in theaters until 2028.  By: Matt Cummings Marvel Studios has redefined the way we watch movies - what other film series consistently keeps the audience in their seats to wade through the credits?  Their pull has forced a paradigm shift in the way movies and entertainment are marketed and distributed.  Other studios, feeling much like a schoolkid who gets dunked on by the larger stronger baller, are trying to follow suit, but their efforts have been spotty and are short-sighted.  DC's demand to merge Batman vs Superman into a glorified Justice League film demonstrate just how desperate they are to tap in to Marvel's mojo without really knowing how to achieve it. In its first week, WS made over $96 million worldwide. Take the release of  Captain America: The Winter Soldier , a film we personally love, not because we're superfans, but because it's good...really, really good.   Built up slowly and through
