Here's why Marvel and DC's game of Scheduling Chicken needs to end soon.  Story by: Matt Cummings While Captain America: The Winter Soldier continues to rake in the box office bucks, an impending release continues to garner almost as much attention.  As we all know, a certain DC film will be premiering on May 6th, 2016 which is the same date for the next Captain America film.  Recently, Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution for WB, said the cinematic version of Chicken is still on schedule over at his studio: “It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16. For fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the stories of Iron Man , Thor , Hulk, and Captain America have done more than merely entertain, occupying our time well into the credits, while we anticipate a juicy tidbit about the next film. With the surprising credits scene in 2012's The Avengers , audiences felt a sea change occurring, as if the genre itself was embarking upon bold new ground. The release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier all but solidifies that, throwing our titular hero into a world of intrigue and drone warfare, while dusting off a conspiracy that comic fans will no doubt love. “ Captain America: The Winter Soldier ” will “set critical events in motion” that will lead directly into next year’s “ The Avengers: Age of Ultron ,” The Walt Disney Company CEO and Chairman Robert Iger told investors and analysts Wednesday. In addition, the Disney chief said that the parts of the “ Captain America ” sequel’s plot will be reflected in ABC’s “ Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D .” It continues Disney’s transmedia strategy, an approach that weaves a narrative across multiple media platforms, spanning movies, television shows, comics and social media outlets. The company has used this approach in previous Marvel Comics adaptations, orchestrating “ Iron Man ,” “ Iron Man 2 ,” “ The Incredible Hulk ,” “ Thor ” and the first “ Captain America ” so they all bled into “ The Avengers .” The studio isn’t the only adherent.
