A Good Day To Die Hard Review. Has The Franchise Run Out Of Fuel?

A Good Day to Die Hard Review By: MattInRC Bruce Willis' return in A Good Day to Die Hard answers another important Movie Question of 2013. And that's not a good thing. Oh, Die Hard franchise where have you gone? To be honest, I stopped following you after the less-than-exciting 1995's Die Hard With a Vengeance . To me, you had run out of fuel, and other action films - other movies that year like Goldeneye and Crimson Tide offered more depth to the action than I had expected. Even your fourth film - 2007's Live Free or Die Hard - got beaten out that year by National Treasure II and Transformers , all signaling that perhaps your best days were over. Thus the Valentines Day release of A Good Day to Die Hard comes as quite a shock to us. Does your once great franchise rediscover its footing and usher Willis back into his old form? Not so much. Police detective John McClane ( Bruce Willis , Looper) learns that his son Jack ( Jai Cortney , Jack

Why Die Hard Is Perfect Valentine's Day Movie

From the " Twilight " trilogy to the tearjerkers adapted from Nicholas Sparks novels to nearly every film where Matthew McConaughey takes off his shirt, let's face it: Most cinematic love stories are made for women. Sound crazy? Stick with me. The 1988 original stars Bruce Willis as John McClane, a sarcastic New York cop visiting his estranged wife Holly ( Bonnie Bedelia ) and his two children in California. When he arrives at Holly's office Christmas party, the tension in their relationship is immediately evident. Holly is using her maiden name again and John doesn't even plan to stay with his family while he's in town. There's no doubt that John loves his wife and wants to rekindle the romance, but he can't seem to admit it. But while John proves incapable of communicating his feelings to his wife verbally, an opportunity arises allowing him to prove his devotion to her. Midway through the party, a team of terrorists led by the stylish H

Get Ready For More Die Hard Films

We’re days away from the launch of the latest Die Hard film – A Good Day To Die Hard – but it would seem Bruce Willis is already open to slipping his holster back on again. Talking to the BBC’s One Show , the McClane man was asked by hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones if we could expect a sixth entry. And he said… wait for it… “Yes.” Now, despite the fact that Bruce is the Die Hard icon, we’re all going to have to wait and see how A Good Day To Die Hard , in which the NYPD’s grumpiest cop heads to Russia to track down seemingly wayward son Jack ( Jai Courtney ), only to get mixed up in spy shenanigans, terrorist threats and one potentially explosive situation, performs at the box office. Plus, while 20th Century Fox is clearly happy to keep the franchise ticking over, it’s likely too early to infer that anything will actually happen. Still, if Bruce likes whatever script the filmmakers come up with, it appears he’s happy to keep on yippee ki-yaying. Please Leave A Comment- S

New A Good Day To Die Hard Trailer

Since the new Die Hard outing is set in Russia, we feel Chekhov himself – the writer, not the Enterprise ensign – would be forced to adapt his famous maxim to “If there is a car/building/helicopter in the first act, it will explode later in the film.” That certainly holds true for A Good Day To Die Hard ’s latest trailer. The fifth instalment finds Bruce Willis’ John McClane heading to Russia to help wayward son Jack ( Jai Courtney ). But what our hero doesn't initially realise is Jack is more than just a chip off the old block: he’s a covert CIA operative now under threat from a very nasty villain who has his fingers in some extremely unsafe pies So the endlessly frustrated NYPD veteran will have to find common ground with his estranged sprog, and let’s just say that the bonding time doesn’t involve many hugs or group therapy sessions. No, guns, grenades and jumping out of exploding towers are the order of the day here. We’re offered some fresh footage to supplement sh

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer. Can You See The Changes?

Remember that G.I. Joe sequel that was supposed to come out seemingly forever ago? Well, it's back and we've got the latest trailer just for you. Let's find out what's changed about the delayed film together, shall we? The official answer as to why Joe went from a 2012 summer release to the far-less-exciting March of 2013 is "increased 3D effects." Okay, yes, we can see how 3D is a good thing. Explosions, ninjas, Bruce Willis... all of the above could be made better if they're flying off the screen, but is that really all this is about? Considering Channing Tatum (who was supposed to be killed off for the sequel) appears right at the start of the trailer, we're gonna go ahead and say that his huge increase in popularity after 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike had a lot to do with the release date change. A Good Day to Die Hard Trailer

Moonrise Kingdom Blu-Ray Review. One Of The Best Films Of The Year

Moonrise Kingdom Blu-Ray Review By: MattInRC Make sure to follow MattInRC on twitter for all his reviews. Moonrise Kingdom is uniquely quirky, impressively captivating, and one of best the films of the year as it arrives for its Blu-ray release. To those outside of the indie movie clique, it might look as though the work of Wes Anderson represents no more than series of boring conversations about...well...nothing at all. Locked in a perpetual episode of Seinfeld, in which his characters essentially do nothing, Anderson's work is quintessential eye candy: extreme closeups and other unique camera angles mix with inventive storytelling that's deeply-layered and sometimes even bordering on self-parody. But it's his commitment to those quirky characters that also rules the days. His newest work, Moonrise Kingdom , is Anderson at his best, wrapping an intelligent script around a rich visual experience that plays very well on Blu-ray. The Movie - 5/5 The

Chris Hemsworth Offered Millions To Be An "American Assassin"

After trying since 2008 to turn Vince Flynn’s bestselling novel series into an action franchise, CBS Films thinks it has found the actor to play terrorist hunter Mitch Rapp. CBS Films has offered Chris Hemsworth $10 million to star in American Assassin . While it is the 11th book in Flynn’s series of espionage novels, American Assassin is an ideal place to start a movie franchise. The novel is a prequel that explains how tragedy transformed Rapp from a college scholar and athlete into a ruthless hunter of terrorists for the CIA. Bruce Willis is also in talks, to play Rapp’s mentor. The film will be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff , who has covered the terrorist hunting terrain directing episodes of Showtime’s Homeland and also helmed the Don Cheadle thriller Traitor. Nachmanoff also co-wrote with Roland Emmerich The Day After Tomorrow and helmed the pilot for the Dick Wolf-produced NBC series Chicago Fire. The most recent script draft was written by Mike Finch, who took

LOOPER Review. One Of The Most Inventive & Absorbing Films Of The Year

LOOPER Review   By: MattInRC  LOOPER is one of the most inventive and absorbing films of the year. And it's a Science Fiction film. Yay! The Science Fiction genre always seems to get slighted for one reason or another, the most common criticism of which is its fanciful and disconnected view from reality. The Oscars have not been kind either, relegating it to the technical achievement categories rather than desiring to place a ring on its finger. In reality, Science Fiction (which should not be confused with the action-heavy Sci-Fi genre) offers audiences the best of all worlds, due to its ability to weave drama, action, and comedy that is set on far-away planets. Star Wars brought us the best bad guy ever conceived in Darth Vader, pitting his oppressive Empire against a Rebellion determined to upend the Dark Sith. Even in the case of epics like Blade Runner , where the story is set in a futuristic Los Angeles, our Replicant robots demonstrated real human feelin

Red 2 Teaser Poster

Though the cameras have yet to even begin rolling, director Dean Parisot and his Red 2 marketing team wants to make sure we know that the sequel is coming. But with no footage to show, they’ve had to resort to a teaser poster for the movie, Red 2 features the return of Bruce Willis ’ retired-but-still dangerous operative Frank Moses, along with pals Marvin Boggs ( John Malkovich ), Victoria (Helen Mirren) and sort-of girlfriend Sarah Ross ( Mary- Louise Parker ). This time around, the aging heroes must deal with the threat of new enemies in Europe, which requires them to team back up. BALLSY Review For The Expendables 2

The Expendables 2 Review By: RAMA So did RAMA think this movie was BALLSY Enough? Track ‘em, find ‘em, kill ‘em! Shoot somethin’! THE EXPENDABLES is insanely awesome! Nothing like an old skool action and this is one of the best sequels for us old skool action fans everywhere. At times, it’s a hot mess but one that I wouldn’t mind watching again and again, because this is definitely NOT for those who complain that it’s just impossible that the good guys barely make it without a single scratch. This is NOT for those who complain how one man can beat an army, this is NOT for those who complain that the plot is too thin or the characters are predictable or the dialogue is cheesy. THE EXPENDABLES 2 is for those of us who want to see some R-rated badassery, that’s exactly what the film offers and that’s exactly what you’ll get. Arnold, Bruce, Van Damme, Norris, and Sly: 5 of the most iconic action stars of all time, battling it out, can’t get any better than that. Rock ‘em sock ‘em
