Brett Ratner To Direct Ben Stiller In "Tower Heist" A $50 million van Gogh masterpiece was swiped Saturday from a Cairo museum by thieves who took advantage of lax security, simply walked in and liberated a painting from its frame with a box cutter. In Hollywood, the planning and execution of a good heist is never that simple. After almost four years, Universal Pictures is aiming Tower Heist for a November production start in New York. Howard And Grazer To Adapt "Legends" Graphic Novel Classic fairy tales are drawing Hollywood heat, with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment and Radical Pictures the latest to work their magic. The two are teaming to develop for the big screen “ Legends ,” a graphic novel from Radical’s publishing arm that brings together such characters as Red Riding Hood, Jack the Giant Killer and Hansel & Gretel in a dark fantasy setting. The story in “Legends ” is set in motion when the remains of Pinocchio are discovered. Red Hood , now a noted wolf hunter, and Jack partner to discover who is murdering the creatures of folklore. Along the way, they are assisted by characters such as Goldilocks , re-imagined as a mercenary, and Hansel & Gretel , now psychic exterminators. Who Is The Man In The Shadow From Cowboys & Aliens? Director Jon Favreau who’s about to film the adaptation Cowboys & Aliens, recently tweeted this image, which didn’t show much. Part of camera tests, showing a sihouette of some dude standing, with a very bright backlight, he’s obviously in costume but no one knows who that was. Jon talked to Collider at a recent screening of Empire Strikes Back that in deed it was film star Daniel Craig. Favreau: I know, if you look at him, we just did our camera tests. That’s him. Sam Rockwell Joins Cast Of  "Cowboys and Aliens" Sam Rockwell is reteaming with Jon Favreau for another comic book adaptation, DreamWorks' "Cowboys and Aliens." Rockwell, who portrays arms manufacturer Justin Hammer in the Favreau-directed "Iron Man 2," has joined the cast of "Cowboys," the alien invasion-meets-the Wild West project that Favreau begins shooting in June. Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford are already cast in the tale, based on a Platinum Studios graphic novel, of cowboys and Indians rising up against aliens. Rockwell will play a bar owner named Doc who joins in the pursuit of the aliens. Once Favreau and the writers -- Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof -- learned that Rockwell was interested in the movie, they reconceived and expanded the role, which initially called for a heavy-set man. Real Genius Getting Remade? Why do people in Hollywood think it is a good idea to remake some of the best classic movies I grew up with? Maybe they want to introduce the movies to the younger generation, I can understand that, let them watch the original movie then.  Isn't anything sacred anymore. Pajiba is reporting that their Hollywood source Imagine Entertainment (yes, that’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer) have now targeted the movie as a likely candidate. The 1985 original, which despite a low box office result, remains a beloved cult comedy,  starring Val Kilmer and Gabriel Jarret. Daniel Craig To Star In Cowboys and Aliens As we wrote before that Dainel Craig may star in the upcoming film. It has been confirmed he will star in the movie. Daniel Craig has closed his deal to star in Cowboys and Aliens for DreamWorks and Universal, as I predicted. Craig will star in an adaptation of Fred Van Lente's graphic novel that was published by Platinum Studios and revolves around cowboys and Native Americans who put aside their Old West differences to battle invading aliens. Craig will play the lead cowboy Zeke Jackson, replacing Robert Downey Jr who exited to jump right back to the Sherlock Holmes sequel. While he likely won't identify himself as "Jackson, Zeke Jackson," Craig has put himself in an enviable position: Cowboys and Aliens has franchise potential. Vince Vaughn To Star In A Dark Comedy Directed By Ron Howard The studio is putting the pieces together for a film project exploring the subject of infidelity that will be directed by Ron Howard and star Vince Vaughn. Imagine topper Brian Grazer came up with the idea and is producing with Vaughn, who will produce with his Wild West Picture Show Prods. Allan Loeb wrote the currently untitled script, which would go before cameras in the spring. The story follows a man who learns that his best friend's wife is cheating and must then navigate treacherous waters to decide what do with that knowledge. The project is said to continue Vaughn's interest of tackling the dark areas of relationships, which he did with "The Break-Up" and, to a lesser extent, "Couples Retreat," which ended up leaving its darker moments on the editing room floor. Gus van Sant Is In Talks To Develop and Direct Restless Gus van Sant is in negotiations with Columbia to develop and direct "Restless," an original screenplay by first-time screenwriter Jason Lew. Brian Grazer , Ron Howard and Bryce Howard will produce for Imagine Entertainment . The logline is being kept under wraps, though it is described as contemporary and distinctive take on young love. Lew and Bryce Howard attended New York University together and it was there that Lew first wrote the story as a play. Howard, who had acted in plays with Lew, got a peek at the story and encouraged him to write it as a screenplay. After several drafts and a "gestation period," Bryce Howard brought it to her father Ron who, taken with Lew's perspective and originality, wanted to further develop it for Imagine. Lew kept on working on the screenplay with Imagine execs, who ultimately showed it to Van Sant. Grazer was looking to reteam with his friend, with whom he worked on t
