BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Brad Pitt Attached To Alpha

Lionsgate has picked up Alpha , a sci-fi project that sees Robopocalypse author Daniel H. Wilson teaming up with Brad Pitt and his Plan B banner. Anthony Scott Burns, a Canadian filmmaker, is attached to make his feature debut with Alpha , which Pitt would produce with his Plan B partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Wilson came up with the original idea and will write the screenplay. Details of the project are being kept secret, but it is known to be sci-fi survival story that has shades of Jack London, the author behind such tales as White Fang and The Call of the Wild. Part of the pitch involved a fake commercial, shot by Burns, for a fictional company that is central to the story. Wilson is the author behind books with a robotics bent, such as How to Survive a Robot Uprising and Robogenesis as well as Robopocalypse, which Steven Spielberg came close to adapting. He also wrote several screenplays, including a remake of Cherry 2000 for MGM and adapting his book Bro-J

Fury Review: Brutal, Barbaric Tank Epic Largely Succeeds

Fury is a brutal, even barbaric, take on the last months of WWII. To those of you who have served or continue to do so, I thank you. The task of defending our country is not an easy one, especially when forced to make tough choices that result in the loss of lives when war is unleashed. The David Ayer WWII tank epic Fury sure doesn't pull punches about those choices, delivering the most brutal affair since S aving Private Ryan . In the final months of WWII, the effort to defeat the Germans has been met not with surrender but with desperation. Caught in the madness of war, tank commander Don "Wardaddy" Collier (Brad Pitt) leads a motley crew of psychopaths: the tank driver Gordo (Michael Pena), the vicious backwater "Coon-Ass" (Jon Bernthal), and "Bible" (Shia LaBeouf), an evangelical Christian with the gift of biblical gab. Suffering the loss of one of their own, Wardaddy is forced to take on fresh recruit Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman)

Pitt's Sergeant 'Wardaddy' Collier is the tank commander on a mission behind enemy lines. Watch the Trailer for Fury

The trailer for Brad Pitt's WWII tank movie has arrived. Writer/director David Ayer has had it rough as of late. The creator of the highly-acclaimed End of Watch struck out big time with Arnold Schwarzenegger's Sabotage , but now the Oscar-winner is back with a look at the final year of WWII. He goes back in time for the goes back in time with the upcoming historical thriller Fury . The trailer, which can be viewed below, offers up a 300-esque showdown involving an American tank against hundreds of German soldiers. In the trailer, we can see Ayer's trademark gritty style, but it's his writing that fans are most hopeful to witness. The story tells of Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman), who served under Sergeant Wardaddy’s (Brad Pitt) tank crew, as the team fights through the final bloddy days of the war. There seems to be a strong Band of Brothers theme occurring here as well. Ayer is no stranger to WWII films - he wrote U-571 , which strayed away from fact

The Harlem Hellfighters Heading To The Big Screen

Overbrook Entertainment will produce the film based on the latest work from the " World War Z " author. Sony has picked up rights to The Harlem Hellfighters , Max Brooks' upcoming graphic novel based on the true story of an African American WWI Army infantry unit . Hitting stores on April 1 via Broadway Books, The Harlem Hellfighters is based on the Army's 369th infantry division, an African American unit fighting in Europe during World War I. Breaking down racial barriers, the unit spent more time in combat than any other American unit, never losing a foot of ground to the enemy, or a man to capture, and went on to win countless decorations. Though they returned to the U.S. as heroes, the unit faced tremendous discrimination, even from their own government. The story chronicles their journey from the enlistment lines in Harlem to the training camp at Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the trenches in France. The Counselor Review. Does Ridley Scott's Return To Crime Thrillers Pay Off?

The Counselor Review By: MattInRC TWITTER: Does Ridley Scott's return to crime thrillers pay off in The Counselor? Not so much. The well-cast but poorly-edited The Counselor takes too long to suck us in.   Warning: Boring times and SPOILERS ahead! Do you have control of your life once the 'big decision' is made? Job? Marriage? Family? How about a Juarez drug deal gone horribly wrong? That's the premise of The Counselor , a well-cast but horribly-edited film that stunningly wastes all of its assets, making us realize that bad decisions do have consequences. A lawyer ( Michael Fassbender ) on the financial ropes enters the drug trafficking world, only to see his 'investment' stolen by the scheming girlfriend of his naive partner Reiner ( Javier Bardem ). Malkina ( Cameron Diaz ) loves the fine life, climbing the ladder by screwing and (probably) killing her way through men and their money. She's the quintessential 'damaged goods' girl,

Pitt Talks World War Z's sequel

Perhaps the biggest problem for World War Z's sequel is what to call it. World War Z 2? World War Zour? World War Z: Zed's Dead? Then there's possibilty of the threequel's name being World War Z 3, which doesn't even bear thinking about. And yet, it is under consideration, as Brad Pitt revealed to the press at this year's Toronto Film Festival. “We’re certainly talking about it, yes,” he told Variety . “We have so many ideas on the table from the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how the zombie worlds work. We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further.” Very loosely based on Max "Son of Mel" Brooks' apocalyptic zombie novel World War Z, the Marc Forster movie cost nearly $200 million to make - thanks, in part, to lengthy third act reshoots that led many to believe it would be a cast-iron clanger on release - but has so far made $533 million at the worldwide box office. This makes it Brad Pitt's h
