Jesse Eisenberg Will Be Playing Luthor Jr In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Here’s a turn up for the books. Jesse Eisenberg won’t be portraying the Lex Luthor we all know and love in next year’s ‘ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ’. In fact, Eisenberg will playing Alexander Joseph Luthor Jr, son of Lex Luthor Snr , who has taken over his father’s company and turned it into a tech giant. The unexpected news comes from a fictionalised profile of the character on Fortune , which says that Lex Luthor Snr was “indomitable”, “vicious” and more than a little curious about “strange meteorite crystals”. “Dad named the company after himself ten years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life. But investors seemed to respond to the idea of an adoring father building a legacy for his precious son. He used that to his advantage. It was a good shtick and, whatever else he was, he was a good businessman,” says Eisenberg’s character. Lex Snr passed away “unexpectedly” in 2000, leaving his son to take the reins. “The achievements of LexCorp’s founder pal

The REAL 'Batman vs Superman' Has REALLY Arrived

Warner Bros. releases the trailer less than a day after its leak. Story by Matt Cummings Thursday night was an interesting one for Warner Bros. Studios. The home of the DC Cinematic Universe, interest had been building for awhile with their plan to release an extended trailer for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice on Monday April 20th. Seats had been reserved, Zack Snyder "swag" had been hinted at by the director, and fans were ready. That is, until a Portuguese version of the same trailer popped up online that same Thursday night . Although WB did its best to knock down sites that distributed the grainy cam-capture, it was clear they were fighting an uphill battle. But this is The Internet afterall, and no one will keep a trailer down. That's why Warner decided late Friday afternoon to release the trailer, featuring a much clearer cut: Snyder isn't letting the leak deter him. On Friday, he Tweeted this message out, giving fans some hope

(Exclusive) What the Batman/Superman Trailer Tells Us

We analyze the footage for clues in this superhero throwdown. Story by Matt Cummings Warner Bros. is moving forward with a huge expansion of its Justice League universe, hiring a replacement director for Wonder Woman , prepping for a Suicide Squad film, and revealing their possible choice to direct Aquaman . At the center of this is the highly-anticipated Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice , a film designed to officially launch the entire ship of DC's greatest superheroes. In anticipation of that event, Director Zack Snyder is hosting an exclusive event at nearby IMAX theaters , whereby fans were promised a view of the trailer on Monday, April 27th. And then the Internet happened. It was revealed on Thursday that a subtitled Portuguese version of the trailer was leaked using a handheld camera or cellphone and eventually uploaded to YouTube. The trailer was quickly removed, but not before companies like CNET and others posted it, causing immediate fan reaction. Wh

Jason Momoa Cast As Aquaman

So remember a few weeks ago when Jason Momoa made headlines because he said he was tired of being asked if he was going to play Aquaman in " Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice "? Well, he's totally playing Aquaman in " Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice ." While Warner Bros. hasn't made that announcement officially yet, HitFix can confirm that he will be playing the part, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon. One of the things that has driven me crazy since the release of " Man Of Steel " is when people say that the last act of the film is a problem since there's no consequences for Superman after all of the destruction that results from his battle with Zod. I felt like it was pretty clear walking out of the theater that the next film would have to be all about consequences. I suspected that Lex Luthor would use the destruction as a way of making Superman look like

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Title Revealed

So what do you think of the title. After months of guesses, speculation and one reveal of Ben Affleck ’s Batman in a monochrome picture, we now know the title for Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel follow-up.  Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Clearly intended to lead – as everyone and their super-powered uncle could have predicted – to Warner Bros. planned Justice League film, Batman V Superman will see DC Comics’ two titans (plus Wonder Woman and whoever else shows up in cameo form etc.) duking it out over some presumed difference of opinion, egged on by Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, until they realise their forces are better united. And though he shot some early footage, Snyder is now officially rolling the cameras on the film in Michigan, with Henry Cavill back as Supes alongside Affleck, Eisenberg, Gal Gadot Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons (as Batman’s butler, Alfred) and Holly Hunter in a role shrouded in secrecy, which the official announcement refers

Hans Zimmer to Score Batman vs. Superman

The 2016 film gets its director. Story by: Matt Cummings We're happy to report that multi Oscar-nominated Composer Hans Zimmer will score the 2016 release of Batman vs. Superman, which will marks the second time he and Director Zack Snyder will collaborate, the first being 2013's Man of Steel . While Zimmer was concerned about singing on, due entirely to his work on the first three Batman films with Christian Bale, he's onboard now, adding an important part to a film that needs good news right now.  We talked about the game of Scheduling Chicken that Warner Bros. is playing with Marvel over sharing the release date, which has come under intense and negative reaction from fans. Zimmer's a creator of some of film's most iconic music in the past 20 years, includes Broken Arrow , Batman Begins , Pirates of the Carribean , and literally a dozen more.  His drum-heavy marches mixed with vocals has revolutionized an industry that used to employ orchest

The Game of Superhero Chicken Continues

Here's why Marvel and DC's game of Scheduling Chicken needs to end soon.  Story by: Matt Cummings While Captain America: The Winter Soldier continues to rake in the box office bucks, an impending release continues to garner almost as much attention.  As we all know, a certain DC film will be premiering on May 6th, 2016 which is the same date for the next Captain America film.  Recently, Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution for WB, said the cinematic version of Chicken is still on schedule over at his studio: “It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16. However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for ‘Batman vs. Superman.’”  There's several levels which are readily apparent here, the first of which is more machismo than anything.  After the big delay by Director Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. is now locked into a brass knuckles fight with Marvel t
