With Tom Cruise in the lead, you might think that the new take on The Mummy would have the star power it needs. Apparently not! According to Deadline, Russell Crowe is in talks to join the film. With Alex Kurtzman already at work directing what he and Universal are aiming as the start of the new shared monster movie universe, the film finds Cruise as Tyler Colt, a special forces soldier in the present day confronted with the emergence of a powerful, ancient force (Kingsman's Sofia Boutella is playing the title character). Crowe, assuming he signs on, will play a Dr. Jekyll-type personality (or dual personality, given the character's history) and while Deadline's report says that he's currently only lining up a deal to work on this film, you've got to figure that it'll be a set up for future appearances. Currently riding high on the critical and commercial success of Captain America: Civil War , directing siblings Anthony and Joe Russo will have nary a moment to catch their breath before diving back into the Marvel universe for the behemoth that is Avengers: Infinity War Parts One and Two . Or at least, that's what the movies are called for now; the directors have told Uproxx that the names will change. Quite what the new titles will be has yet to be revealed, but the directors explained that they didn't want the public to be misled as to what the actual films are (besides Avengers instalments, obviously). “The movies are two very different movies,” says Joe. “The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. Variety is reporting Frank Grillo will star in “ Wolf in the Wild ” for Awesomeness Films. The film centers on a young man who is taken in by his best friend’s family after his grandmother dies. Life initially seems idyllic, until he stumbles upon proof that his adopted father may be a violent criminal. Tonally, the film is meant to be a mixture of “Disturbia” and “Rear Window.” “I’m excited to be working with Awesomeness on a script that is a throwback to suspense thrillers I love,” said Grillo. Grillo has been in a number of high-profile projects, of late. He anchors the acclaimed MMA fighter series “ Kingdom ” and reprises his role as Crossbones in this summer’s “ Captain America: Civil War .” Other upcoming parts include “ The Purge: Election Year ” and “ Beyond Skyline .” Claire Holt (“The Vampire Diaries”) will co-star.
