Syfy is developing a series version of the 2010 supernatural thriller Legion , which starred Paul Bettany . The feature’s director/co-writer Scott Stewart is set to direct and executive produce the TV adaptation, which will be written by Vaun Wilmott (Sons Of Anarchy). Sony Pictures TV, the TV sibling of Sony’s Screen Gems division that distributed the film, is producing the series project. The movie, produced by Bold Films, chronicled human race’s battle for survival against God’s legion of angels sent by him to bring on the Apocalypse. The people get an unlikely ally in Archangel Michael ( Bettany ), who disobeys God’s order and decides to help them. Bold Films’ David Lancaster and Michael Litvak, who were producers on the movie, will serve as executive producers on the potential series alongsideWilmott co-executive produces. PRIEST Animated Prologue has finally showed up online. This is the footage that they showed at Comic-Con 2010. Thanks to bleedingcool , the world gets to watch this video. "Priest" Gets Put back Into The Dark "Priest," the Screen Gems post-apocalyptic vampire movie starring Paul Bettany, has shifted its release date again. The Scott Stewart-directed movie is getting the 3D treatment and will now be released Jan. 14, 2011. The new date puts the movie in similar territory as the recent "Legion," the Stewart-Bettany action-thriller that opened Jan. 22. The movie has done OK for Screen Gems, amassing almost $31 million so far. "Priest" is based on a graphic novel by Min-Woo Hyung and sees Bettany as a warrior priest who teams up with a young sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a priestess (Maggie Q) to track down a band of renegade vampires. Priest Is A Vampire Story Set In The Old West Director Scott Stewart and actor Paul Bettany had so much fun working together on Legion that they teamed up again for Priest, an upcoming futuristic vampire story based on a Korean comic book. In the movie, Jedi-like warrior priests battle vampires in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that's like the Old West. Thing is, the comic book wasn't a future story and didn't deal with vampires; rather, it was set in the actual Old West, and its main character, the immortal priest Ivan Isaacs, instead battles fallen angels. That might seem like a big change, but Priest creator Hyung Min-woo doesn't mind. "Min-woo came out and visited us over the summer," Stewart said in a group interview last week in Los Angeles. "He'd read a translation of the script and came out and was really, really pleased with what he saw. We talk about the graphic novels as being the past, and [the film version of] Priest is kind of the future.&
