Star Wars Trilogy On Blu-ray Uncut To Be Released In Near Future

For a long time Star Wars fans have been clamoring for Disney/Lucasfilm to re-release the original, unaltered cut of the first Star Wars trilogy, and Comicbook.com has now confirmed with two independent reliable sources that just such a plan is under way.

According to our sources, Disney has plans to release the original cut of the Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray. Our sources indicate that the project has been under way for quite some time, but it’s been challenging because of some damage to the original negatives they are utilizing. The goal is to release A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of Jedi in their complete, unaltered, original form without the redone special edition SFX.

Our sources did not have an exact date as to when the original cut of the Star Wars Trilogy would be released on Blu-ray, due to the challenges Disney has encountered in pulling everything together. However, our sources indicated the goal is to have it ready and released before Star Wars Episode VII is released in theaters.

Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. The Expendables 3 Tanks At The Box Office

Lionsgate and Millennium Films' The Expendables 3 opened to a muted $875,000 Thursday night from more than 2,200 locations. While on par with the $870,000 earned by The Expendables and ahead of the $685,000 grossed by the sequel, the threequel rolled out at 7 p.m., compared to midnight for the first two films.

To boot, The Weinstein Co. and Walden Media's new YA film adaptation The Giver wasn't far behind, pulling in $750,000.

Expendables 3, featuring a multigenerational lineup of action stars, is expected to take in $20 million to $25 million for the weekend, a series low. In addition to potential franchise fatigue, a pristine copy of the film leaked on the Internet is likely to hurt grosses, much like what happened when X-Men Origins: Wolverine was pirated before its release in 2009.

The weekend's other new offerings are the R-rated comedy Let's Be Cops, which got a jump on the competition by opening Wednesday, and The Giver. A trio of specialty films all but expand nationwide: Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight, Richard Linklater's indie hit Boyhood and Daniel Radcliffe romantic comedy What If. Magic in the Moonlight will be playing in a total of 964 theaters, while the other two will be in more than 750.

Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is widely expected to stay atop the North American box office in its second weekend with $30 million or more.

Buddy action comedy Let's Be Cops, starring Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson, is already off to a strong start, grossing $3.2 million Thursday for a two-day total of $8.4 million. (It earned an impressive $1.2 million Tuesday night when rolling out at 10 p.m.) The 20th Century Fox film cost a modest $17 million to make and earned a B CinemaScore.

Directed by Luke Greenfield, Let's Be Cops follows two friends who pretend to be Los Angeles police officers. Andy Garcia, Nina Dobrev, Rob Riggle, Keegan-Michael Key and James D'Arcy also star. It is playing in 2,936 locations.

Let's Be Cops came in No. 3 Thursday behind TMNT and Guardians of the Galaxy, which grossed an estimated $4.3 million and $4.2 million, respectively, for domestic totals of roughly $89.2 million and $197.5 million.

The Expendables series is the brainchild of Sylvester Stallone and Avi Lerner, whose Nu Image/Millennium partnered with Lionsgate on the series. The films have generally cost in the $90 million range to produce and have done especially big business overseas. Expendables 2 took in $220.4 million internationally, compared to $85 million in North America.

The first Expendables opened to $34.8 million on the same weekend in August 2010, followed by $28.6 million for the sequel in August 2012.

This time out, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and other team members battle villain Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). The sprawling cast includes Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Randy Couture, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Kelsey Grammer, Terry Crews, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz and Robert Davi.

Millennium and Lionsgate's aggressive marketing campaign for the threequel, which will be playing in 3,221 theaters domestically, included a major stunt at the Cannes Film Festival in May that saw the cast roll down the Croisette in tanks.

Going after younger moviegoers and faith-based audiences is The Giver, directed by Phillip Noyce and based on Lois Lowry's 1993 YA novel of the same name. More than two decades in the making, the $30 million film was co-financed and co-produced by The Weinstein Co. and Walden Media.

The Giver, starring Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep and Brenton Thwaites, is expected to debut in the mid-teens and will be playing in roughly 3,003 locations.

THE GIVER Review. No One Can Help This Ship From Sinking

Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, can’t help this ship from sinking.

Look who's back with another review. RAMA. I want to thank him again for reviewing the film. Make sure to follow him on Facebook and twitter.

I’ve never read the book yet, so I’m not the millions who say that THE GIVER is one of their childhood favorite but as a movie, I just don’t see anything special about it. The story or the concept may be special and unique or groundbreaking when it first hit the shelves, but to have it now, in a sea of other dystopian utopia formulaic young adult stories like it, THE GIVER just seems too late, too familiar, and too flat, there’s nothing extraordinary about this film, which is heartbreaking considering I’m a huge fan of director Phillip Noyce’s ‘Jack Ryan’ movies and that THE GIVER also showcases such greats as Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, but even they can’t help this ship from sinking.

Brenton Thwaites, Odeya Rush, and Cameron Monaghan play three best friends who are distinctly older than the ages of their characters, they live in a community govern by high ranking officials and elders who make sure that that place has no war, no pain, no suffering, no lies, no popularity contest, no disorder no choice, and every teen is assigned their purpose, so yes, it’s more or less ‘Divergent’ all over again, even though THE GIVER book may have come first.
There is no contest forcing kids to battle each other to the death but just like any of those films, THE GIVER also presents us with a world in which everything is controlled for the sake of peace and harmony… which to me, in and of itself is hilarious, because how is it that you enforce no lying, and yet you allow or justify sanctioned murders?! That’s what all these movies are trying to underline, the idea of double standard that people of authority always seem to have, no matter which way you’d want to reform it.

And of course, you’ll have one young adult who’ll eventually rise or revolt or simply break out and run free. In this case, that man is Jonas, played by Brenton Thwaites who I think is one of today’s most talented rising stars, he just still needs to find that one defining role, which I hope will come to him in the near future, sadly, THE GIVER isn’t it.

From filmmaking standpoint, I think you can appreciate the beauty of its cinematography, how it plays the color and the black-and-white to differentiate the monotony vs. the discovery of all kinds of emotions, and how one slowly takes over the other.

But as far as pace and tone, even I who haven’t read the book, can sense that they fast forward through a lot of stuff. The Giver gives Jonas memories of what once was, and I think the point from which Jonas get struck by the cold hard reality to the point where he runs off, just isn’t explored as well it could be. That right there could be an opportunity for Brenton to floor us, but that opportunity just isn’t there for him to work on. It gets worsen by the film’s anticlimactic and inconclusive ending.

I understand the film’s intention to provoke thoughts, I understand the themes in this film, I understand that the film wants us to wrestle with those themes, but THE GIVER just doesn’t do enough to challenge me, the whole film feels like one ticket to boring lane. One of this year’s sleep inducers.

The Expendables 3 Review: The Indescribable Expendability of Dumb

Slight improvements keep the brainless The Expendables 3 off life support...barely.

These days, 60 is apparently the new 30 and what better what to celebrate such an inappropriate consideration than to see a bunch of old dudes try to remain relevant in an industry that seems ready to show many of them the front door? This is The Expendables 3, a measurably better experience than previous entries, but still of little value beyond mindless action apathy.

With a smaller team, Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and his friends (Jason Staitham, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Dolph Lungren) raid a prison train to liberate the maniac Doc (Wesley Snipes) for what he calls 'tax evasion.' But soon the team is caught in a deadly shootout with Barney's former Expendable buddy Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), whose love of gunpowder and large-scale death is equally only by his love for fine art. When a teammate goes down, Barney decides to protect his friends by hiring a younger crew (Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, and Glen Powell) that get themselves captured. Using his contacts including standby Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger), the mysterious CIA man Drummer (Harrison Ford), and a talkative new recruit (Antonio Banderas), Barney heads to a final bloody showdown with Stonebanks, a fight which only one can survive.

Beyond the obvious, the problem with Expendables 3 is one of asset management and intent. There's not enough time to develop Drummer, Doc, and Galga enough, because all of our other leads need their time in front of the camera. A story about aging heroes brought to life by these three actors would have been a great film, their stories as diverse as the other, yet perfectly matched like a triangle. But it's also clear that the Writer Stallone saw only limited potential in those assets, mismanaging them with dime-store drama surrounded by explosions and unrelatable stunts.

It's not that Expendables is terrible, but even though I knew what I was getting before the lights dimmed, the result is decidedly taxing in many parts. The CGI makes The Legend of Hercules look like The Hobbit, a cornucopia of ridiculous helicopter maneuvers and poorly-lit green-screened night scenes. Actors speak in the most cliched manner possible, with Schwarzenegger reduced to uttering lines from his previous movies to remain relevant. And then there's the clown-car of elder 'heroes,' each of whom looks more ready for a fishing trip than taking on an entire army. Some emerge just long enough to keep our interest, then climb under their rock (or cryo chamber) before they're called upon again by Director Patrick Hughes. A newcomer to big Summer affairs, one can Hughes' mistakes all over the digital canvas, from overly-choreographed fight scenes to overly-simplistic camera angles that look no better than an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

But within this evolving disaster, there are things which actually work. Snipes is fun to see on screen again, his crazy streak reinvigorated here as is Gibson, whose declaration to "open your meat shirt and show you your own heart" is the best line of the film. A reborn Ford is cagey and ready to get angry for our delight, a vast improvement over the near-zombie state of Bruce Willis. But the biggest surprise is Banderas, whose physical comedy is matched by his sensitivity as he relates to Stallone about the death of his team. When this happens near the beginning of Act 3, its appearance is such a surprise that I wasn't sure if a previous (and better version) of the film was accidentally cut in. These four performance give a much-needed boost of intelligence when onscreen, and their absences equally drive the IQ back down to near-comatose levels. There's also a sense that our heroes will mostly survive intact to have an overly-long goodbye over beer, and that lack of danger never elevates the feeling that our heroes are anything but bullet-proof.

With so many of them potentially collecting Social Security, it's hard to fathom why Stallone and company don't fade away to the semi-quiet convention circuit, signing autographs and sitting in panels while competent replacements help to forge the next chapter in action films. Like a former star quarterback who can't see that retirement is their next likely move, Stallone and Schwarzenegger's resistance to leave is actually complicating that needed transition. Violence for the sake of it is a 20th Century convention, and with more intelligent alternatives like The Bourne series already proving Hollywood's potential, The Expendables as a franchise feels like it's 20 years too late.

It's no secret that Expendables has become the victim of Internet piracy, as a DVD-quality copy of the film has now been downloaded more than 200,000 times just as its theatrical version is set to premiere. That will no doubt affect domestic ticket sales, which were considered low-hanging fruit at best and Hollywood pipe dream at worst. Such a situation reminds us that the Hollywood model of clinging to old habits does result in slow painful deaths. You can make three Expendables movies with mindless violence to boot, but talk of a Deadpool flick somehow makes studio heads queasy.

The Expendables 3 isn't worth much beyond the inevitable Netflix arrival, but with so many copies of the movie already leaked, it's hard to imagine this can gain traction above a quiet opening and an embarrassingly quick run. In a world where hyper violence is celebrated like a national holiday, Expendables 3 doesn't come close to separating itself from more deserving choices, its 'violence' feeling as old as these actors look. Luckily, there are bright spots in Snipes, Banderas, and Ford, none of whom are on screen long enough. When they are, the scene immeasurably improves, when gone it's like a black hole of dumb took their places. And yet, I think this is the best we're going to get from Stallone and company, heroes long past their prime like a quarterback that doesn't know it's time to leave the game. On so many levels, that time is now.

The Expendables 3 is rated PG-13 for violence including intense sustained gun battles and fight scenes, and for language and has a runtime of 126 minutes.

The crux of ‘Tyrant’s’ first (and hopefully only) season finally locks into place in “Meet the New Boss” as Bassam begins the preliminary stages of a coup against Jamal, drawing in allies to remove his brother from office. This is the character arc that Bassam has had earmarked since the pilot, embarking on a journey from wanting nothing to do with his country or legacy to gradually developing an inevitable thirst for power. After the debacle with the sheik’s death, Bassam has decided that Jamal’s incendiary temper makes him unfit to rule Abuddin, which is almost certainly true, but one begins to wonder how much of Bassam’s drive is truly motivated by what is best for his country versus what his own ego suddenly demands.

You’re going to keep wondering about that, too, because Adam Rayner isn’t getting across any of the ruthless ambition fueling Bassam. This is very much the Walter White character template being played out here, where a seemingly good man sets foot into a world in which he doesn’t belong and allows it to corrupt him bit by bit. Yet Bryan Cranston always allowed us to witness the gradations of megalomania chipping away at Walt’s soul, where Rayner gives the same flat, passionless performance in every scene. Whether Bassam is motivated by what’s right or what he desires is anyone’s guess because all Rayner does is recite his lines with no fire behind any of them. He remains completely inaccessible to us as a character, a flavorless avatar going through the motions of what the plot demands rather than a flesh-and-blood creation brought to life.

“Meet the New Boss” functions almost entirely as tablesetting, with Bassam putting all the pieces together for his power play while Jamal remains entirely in the dark, believing more than ever before that his brother is looking out for him. Bassam gets oily American ambassador John Tucker on his side, as well as Lea Exley (Leslie Hope, Jack Bauer ill-fated wife from way back in ‘24’s’ first season), a hard-bitten spook from some undisclosed intelligence agency. The group agrees that any strike against Jamal will only succeed if General Tariq, Bassam and Jamal’s fearsome uncle and head of Abuddin’s military forces, can be brought down first. Bassam implores the father of Jamal’s daughter-in-law, who owns the largest telecommunications company operating in Abuddin, to use his influence to oppose Jamal and Tariq, but the man fears them too much.

Bassam also realizes that what he is attempting to do will create some very powerful enemies, so his first order of business is to get Molly and the kids out of Abuddin and back to America. When Molly opposes Bassam’s insistence that the family board a plane home immediately, he snaps at her to do as he says for once. This leads to a conversation where Bassam has to finally disclose his plans to his wife, who is stunned to learn that the man who didn’t even want to come to Abuddin in the first place for a quick wedding now wants to stay and become its president. This should be a powerful scene, but Jennifer Finnigan matches Rayner note-for-note in fresh-faced blandness, so none of it lands with the oomph that it should. We’ve been too spoiled by similar scenes between acting titans like James Gandolfini and Edie Falco, Cranston and Anna Gunn, for these daytime-soap-caliber thespians to have any impact.

Jamal doesn’t have much to do this week beyond constantly mooning over how great his brother is and how much he loves him, allowing ‘Tyrant’ the clumsy dramatic irony that it mistakes for complex nuance. He does confront Nusrat, the daughter-in-law whose pre-wedding violation by him has saddled his son Ahmed with an instantly dysfunctional marriage. Jamal attempts to sanitize his previous actions with what he believes to be sound logic, but it doesn’t fly. Nusrat instead disrobes and dares Jamal to finish what he started, either as a challenge to him to see what kind of man he is or as evidence of how much his attack has damaged her. Either way, Jamal opts to turn around and leave the room rather than pursue any further untoward dalliances with his son’s wife. What a guy.

With two episodes left, it seems clear that the remainder of ‘Tyrant’s’ inaugural season will deal with Bassam deposing his brother and ascending to the top. I can’t say that I’m altogether that eager to see what happens, but I certainly am very eager for ‘Tyrant’ to be over with.

Tom Hiddleston To Star In Ben-Hur?

Deadline is reporting MGM, Paramount and Timur Bekmambetov set a February 26, 2016, release date on an epic remake of Ben-Hur; have they found their chariot driver in Tom Hiddleston? I hear that he’s the one the studios are courting to play Judah Ben-Hur in the adaptation of the 1880 Lew Wallace novel Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ, which was the biggest-selling novel of its time until it was eclipsed by Gone With The Wind.

Hiddleston isn't being fitted for a toga just yet. He has other projects vying for his services, including the MGM pic Me Before You. Keith Clarke, who scripted the Peter Weir-directed The Way Back, wrote the script that MGM pounced on after that company got ambitious following its emergence from bankruptcy and huge hits in Skyfall and The Hobbit. Mark Burnett and Roma Downey joined Sean Daniel and Joni Levin as producers, with Clarke and Jason Brown exec producing. Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave scribe John Ridley wrote the last draft.

MGM released the 1959 Charlton Heston-toplined Ben-Hur, as well as the 1925 silent film Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ. That doesn’t mean much here, after all the library strip mining done by Kirk Kerkorian in the 1980s. Wallace’s book is public domain, and that makes it possible. Pic leans heavier on the book than did William Wyler’s film, playing up a parallel storyline involving Jesus Christ. That’s juxtaposed by the blood feud between Judah Ben-Hur and Messala, who grew up best friends before the Roman Empire took control of Jerusalem. Judah Ben-Hur was a Jewish prince and Messala the son of a Roman tax collector. After the latter leaves to be educated in Rome for five years, the young man returns with a different attitude and mocks Judah and his religion. When a procession passes by Judah’s house and a roof tile accidentally falls and hits the governor, Messala betrays his childhood friend and manipulates the accident so that Judah is sold into slavery and certain death on a Roman warship, with his mother and sister thrown in prison for life. Judah vows revenge, culminating in the famed chariot races.

Betty Boop Film Could Be On It's Way

The desire to turn every recognizable property into a film franchise is nothing new. Now the Eye of Sauron-alike gaze of the entertainment industry has turned once again to Betty Boop, the 1930s cartoon icon.

Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment has entered a partnership with Animal Logic Entertainment – the animation company behind Happy Feet’s dancing penguins and The Lego Movie’s bricktacular – to nab the rights from Fleischer Studios for what is described in Variety’s report as a music-driven hybrid animated comedy.

Betty has been around since 1930, appearing in numerous Talkartoons from Max Fleischer and then her own cartoon series. An animated superstar, she’s since shown up in a wealth of shorts and other shows and has become a licensing goldmine, flogging everything from Chupa Chups to NASCAR in her time. On the big screen, she made a cameo in 1988’s ‘toon-laden Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

“Betty is an icon, and one of the biggest stars in the world – I’m thrilled to be working with her,” Cowell said in a statement. “Betty, I’ve worked with some serious divas but I think you could be the biggest of them all!” Hahahaha! It’s funny because…. It’s not funny.

No director or writer is attached for now, and given its ‘toon status, we don’t expect Betty to be dancing back on screens for a couple of years at least.

Aquaman Gets Two Separate Writers

Will Beall, who wrote 'Gangster Squad,' and Kurt Johnstad, who wrote '300: Rise of an Empire,' are tackling two separate scripts for Warner Bros.

The scribes are writing — separately — scripts for Aquaman, one of the installments in Warner Bros.’ multimovie scheme to create a cinematic universe based on the DC Entertainment characters.
Aquaman is being developed on dual tracks, where studios and producers hire two separate writers to work on the same project in the hopes of getting the best version. The practice allows for release dates to be set while a project is still in development while giving it a muscular push. Warners needs just that as last week it dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020.

Warners is not revealing which one of those will be Aquaman, but the first untitled DC movie is due for release on Aug. 5, 2016, with two more due in 2017, on June 23 and Nov. 17, respectively.
Aquaman is one of comicdom’s classic characters, having been created in 1941 by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. The character has been with the Justice League since the team's inception in 1960 and got a major boost in pop culture recognition with the 1970s cartoon series Super Friends. The show, however, also made him the butt of jokes about him being too hackneyed and simple; the perception was that all he could do was talk to marine animals.

(The jokes continue to this day. An Aquaman movie was at the center of a major storyline on HBO's Entourage and just last week Zack Snyder, who is directing Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice as well as the Justice League movie, surprised a Detroit radio talk show, whose DJs were disparaging the hero, by calling in and defending him.)

Jason Momoa is widely acknowledged as having secured the role of Aquaman in Warners’ DC cinematic universe, although Warners had not yet officially confirmed the casting.

Both Beall and Johnstad are part of Warners’ familiar stable of scribes.

Beall wrote Gangster Squad for the studio and worked on a version of Justice League before the project was made part of the DC movie tapestry. The writer,  also penned episodes of TV’s Castle.

Johnstad, is a Snyder favorite, having worked on the director’s 300 and the recent Snyder-produced 300: Rise of an Empire.

Shannyn Sossamon Set To Star In Sinister Sequel

Following the success of 2012’s Ethan Hawke-led horror pic Sinister, the Blumhouse Productions team is going the Purge route for the sequel: maintain the concept, and swap out Hawke for new faces. Well, one new face so far, As Shannyn Sossamon is set to star in the next instalment.

James Ransone is returning from the first Sinister as the Sherriff’s Deputy who tried to help Hawke with the terror-infused home movies he found in his family’s new home. This time around, he’ll be coming to the aid of Sossamon’s single mum, who herself moves into a rural house with her nine-year-old twins, only to discover that the place is loaded with creepy supernatural phenomena. You really think the estate agent would have mentioned that alongside the healthy yard space.

Citadel director Ciaran Foy is taking over the megaphone for this one, working from a script Scott Derrickson wrote with Sinister collaborator C. Robert Cargill. The cameras are set to start rolling next week in Chicago and Universal has slotted the sequel in for an August 21, 2015 release.

ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE Opens In LA

THE BLOC ROLLS OUT THE RED CARPET FOR ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE

Austin-Based Theater Chain Expands its Major Market Footprint into Los Angeles' Premier Urban Destination

The Ratkovich Company, in partnership with National Real Estate Advisors, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema today announced the Alamo Drafthouse will open its first Los Angeles, California theater at The Bloc, a 1.8 million square foot mixed use destination at the hub of the city's retail, entertainment, financial, and sports center. The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown is slated to open in 2015 as The Bloc completes its $180 million renovations and opens its doors as a vibrant, open-air, pedestrian-friendly, urban destination.

"We've been eyeing Los Angeles for many years now," said CEO and founder Tim League. "With The Bloc, we finally found the perfect location and partner to bring our brand of cinema to the birthplace of the industry."

Alamo Drafthouse provides a unique combination of theater and restaurant, showing first-run and independent films and special programming events with an extensive menu made from scratch in a state-of-the-art culinary kitchen. The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown will be located in the southwest corner of The Bloc next to Macy's third floor.

"Alamo Drafthouse has re-invigorated the movie-watching experience, much the way we intend to reimagine the traditional retail and entertainment experience and enliven the 7th Street corridor with The Bloc," said Wayne Ratkovich, founder and president of The Ratkovich Company. "We want Angelenos to come to The Bloc for distinctive, curated experiences and Alamo Drafthouse provides just that."

Alamo Drafthouse Downtown will have nine screens and seat approximately 800 people for new release movies, independent, foreign and classic films, as well as an exhaustive slate of the Alamo's unique signature event programming. Each of the auditoriums will be equipped with state of the art 4K digital projection, big screens and amazing sound. In addition to providing superior presentation, the Alamo eliminates the traditional front rows to ensure there's no bad seat in the house. The theater will also be equipped for 3D and archival 35mm projection.

In keeping with the Alamo's commitment to providing the best in-theater dining experience, the downtown LA destination will feature locally inspired and sourced food and drink. Moviegoers can order food and drinks from their seats while servers silently attend to them throughout the film. The Alamo will also be opening an adjacent craft beer bar featuring an extensive array of Californian beers.

Accessibility and integration with the city at large continues to be a priority for The Bloc and the Alamo Drafthouse. The Alamo Drafthuose Downtown will be conveniently accessed without needing to go above ground via the Blue, Expo, Purple and Red lines at the 7th Avenue Metro stop. Future Metro expansion will connect the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown to Santa Monica, Pasadena and the San Bernandino Valley. The theater will offer four hours of free validated parking as well as free bicycle valet.

Due to a lackluster summer at the box office, the motion picture industry is down 7% year to date.Forthe same period, Alamo Drafthouse same store sales are up 2.64%. By focusing on great film, food and drinks along with exceptional presentation, a no-advertisement policy and a notoriously strict no talking/no texting policy, the Alamo Drafthouse strives to be the movie theater by movie fans for movie fans.

The theaters have been heralded for their unique programming events and high exhibition standards, earning accolades like "Best Theater Ever" (Time Magazine).

Caught between life and death in a limbo state, Mia must choose between fighting to live in a world where she’ll face tragedy and passing on to a presumably peaceful death. The film itself has survived a period in limbo, originally set up back in 2009 with Dakota Fanning attached, it was moved to MGM after a period in turnaround and is finally ready to hit the screen.

With a script by Whip It’s Shauna Cross and R.J. Cutler calling the shots, If I Stay also features Lauren Lee Smith, Jakob Davies and Liana Liberato
