Michael Bay Let's Use Know Transformers 3 Going To Moscow And Chicago

Michael Bay Let's Use Know Transformers 3 Going To Moscow And Chicago

Well, it looks like Red Square and the Sears Tower are the next global landmarks facing swift and explosive destruction at the hands of Michael Bay and his enormous robot troops, with the news that Transformers 3 is set to film in Moscow and Chicago.

The sequel, which is set for July 2011, starts shooting in May, with Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf returning to play the hapless humans running away from rampaging robots(probably carrying a Macguffin) and Ehren Kruger writing the script (not joined this time by original screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman). Bay has previously promised that this one will not go for more and bigger explosions, instead delving into the Transformers' mythos and becoming "darker". We'd still bet Grandma on there being a fair whack of destruction though, so remember that "fewer explosions" is relative.

Alyssa Milano And Christina Applegate Get A "Hall Pass"

Alyssa Milano And Christina Applegate Get A "Hall Pass"

I have been a huge Alyssa Milano fan since I first laid eyes on her in the show Who's The Boss, to buying up all her music CD's while I lived in Japan. So anything that stars her I will be letting the world know about.

Christina Applegate is the latest to join the Farrelly brothers comedy "Hall Pass," in production at New Line. Alyssa Milano, Larry Campbell and Vanessa Angel also have jumped aboard.

The new cast members join Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer, Amanda Bynes, Stephen Merchant, J.B. Smoove, Nicky Whelan and Derek Waters in the comedy, which began shooting Tuesday in Atlanta. The film centers on what happens when two husbands are given permission to go outside their marriages for guilt-free romantic liaisons for one week.

Bobby and Peter Farrelly wrote the script with Pete Jones and Kevin Barnett and are producing with their Conundrum Entertainment partner Bradley Thomas.

Angelina Jolie Chooses "Gravity" Over Wanted 2

Angelina Jolie Chooses "Gravity" Over Wanted 2

Universal craved a sequel to Angelina Jolie’s assassination tango/loom tutorial Wanted. Unfortunately for the studio, Jolie is leaving them…wanting. We’ve just heard the actress has pulled out of the planned Timur Bekmambetov-directed sequel at Universal, and the studio has pulled the plug rather than recast the film. As for Jolie, we hear she is now intent on starring in Warner Bros.’ Gravity, a space thriller to be directed by Children of Men’s Alfonso Cuarón from a script he wrote with his 28-year-old son, Jonás.

Like Wanted 2, Gravity had previously been set up at Universal, with Jolie set to star. But a few weeks ago, the studio put Gravity into turnaround, possibly because it’s such an artistically challenging project: Jolie would be alone on-screen for much of the movie, playing the sole surviving human member of a space mission, desperately trying to return home to Earth and her daughter. (In that way it’s reminiscent of the brilliant, little-seen Moon with Sam Rockwell. Seriously, why won't you see it?) Now Warners has snapped it up, and it will be produced by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows producer David Heyman and Legendary Pictures.

The Yellow Handkerchief Movie Review by Windy

The Yellow Handkerchief Movie Review
by Windy

Sandwichjohnfilms resident film reviewer got a private screening of the film, and make sure you check out her blog to see how her experience was for this event.

“The Yellow Handkerchief”, loosely based on a short story by writer Pete Hamill, is the story of three lost souls who happen upon each other one average Louisiana day. Starring William Hurt, Maria Bello, Kristen Stewart and Eddie RedMayne, the film starts out with, quite fittingly, yellow-washed credits.

The story centers around Brett Hanson (Hurt), a recent ex-convict, making his way back home. He meets Martine (Stewart) and Gordy (Redmayne) on a trip across the river. Through a stroke of bad (or good) luck, the three strangers are stranded together and slowly learn about each other’s histories and how they ended up in the present day.

William Hurt plays Hanson with gusto. He’s lost, hurt, hopeless and hopeful all at the same time. He plays both loner on a journey and father figure to two lonely teens. Despite his ex-convict status, one gets the impression Hanson is not a bad person. Throughout the film, as you learn his past, you understand where his emotions and state of mind come from.

Stewart’s character, Martine, is also a lonely person. No caring family and no obvious friends, she takes the trip across the river in hopes of a quick joy ride allowing her to escape her desperate reality. Martine and her existence is believable, however Stewart still has some of her stereotyped panting and hair pulling which can sometimes make it hard to forget that you are watching Kristen Stewart. Forgetting these mannerisms, the part, including the southern accent, are well played.

Gordy, played by Eddie RedMayne, is an extremely awkward character to watch. I can’t quite tell if the character is supposed to be that awkward of an individual or if RedMayne over-acted. Though he and Stewart’s character are supposed to have chemistry on-screen, it’s only when she dislikes him that their chemistry is believable.

Bello is seen through flash-backs and has little effect on the likeability of the film. She effectively plays a beautiful object of caring and desire, but she isn’t given enough character depth and screen time to make an impact.

Unfortunately, I did not have much time to research this film before viewing. Upon leaving the theater, my impression was and still is that the acting by Hurt and Stewart was solid (and Redmayne if he was supposed to be that awkward), but there wasn’t enough depth to the overall story line. I thought to myself (and out-loud), “this film felt like a short story more than a film”. I am, therefore, not surprised to learn it’s loosely based on a short story.

With a deeper story line, this film could have invested the audience more. As-is, there just isn’t enough of a story to make a successful full-length feature film.

NBC's Chuck Season Spoiler

NBC's Chuck Season Spoiler

Looks like EW has a Buy More mole just tipped me off that Josh Schwartz is casting younger versions of Chuck and Ellie ( 7 and 11, respectively) to appear in a flashback sequence in Chuck’s

season finale. No other details were provided, but I spy a connection between this and Scott Bakula’s return as Bartowski patriarch Steve. Also, if you recall, Schwartz recently declared that Bakula’s Chuck comeback arc would be “the biggest thing we’ve ever done on the show.” Put it all together and what do you get?

The Flash To Be Directed By Green Lantern Scribe?

The Flash To Be Directed By Green Lantern Scribe?

By Last we heard about a proposed movie based on DC Comics' Flash, writer David Goyer said it was "shrouded in mystery." Well, the mystery has lifted a bit, if we are to believe our athletically inclined pals at IESB.net: They're reporting that Greg Berlanti, co-writer of the upcoming Green Lantern and director of Life as We Know It, is in line to direct:

The name should ring a bell or two, Berlanti wrote "Green Lantern" with one my favorites Marc Guggenheim and was once attached to direct the film before WB settled on Martin Campbell.

It's unclear whether Flash will be based on Goyer's initial idea or will be written by someone else. And, of course, way to early to know who will put on the red suit, though Ryan Reynolds was once Goyer's choice (he's not involved and will instead play Hal Jordan in Green Lantern).

Bradley Cooper Leaves The "War"

Bradley Cooper Leaves The "War"

Bradley Cooper has dropped out of 20th Century Fox comedy "This Means War."

Cooper, who was attached to star opposite Reese Witherspoon, didn't offer a reason for the decision.

Cooper's upcoming projects include Warner Bros.' "Hangover 2" and Rogue Pictures' "Dark Fields."

Witherspoon remains attached to star in "This Means War," which McG will direct. Fox and McG hope to begin lensing as early as late spring or summer.

Will Smith's Overbrook shingle is producing the comedy.

Script has gone through multiple rewrites over the years. As it stands now, storyline centers on two spies who are lifelong friends until falling in love with the same woman. It was scribe Timothy Dowling's revision that attracted Witherspoon and Cooper, and pushed the project toward being greenlit.

"Blue Mountain State" Coming Back For A Second Season

"Blue Mountain State" Coming Back For A Second Season

I had the chance to meet the guys from Spike's "Blue Mountain State" at Spike's Scream Awards last year and they were some great guys taking the time out to talk to me and for giving me some insight on the show before it came out. And so far this season the best episode has got to be when Craig Shilo looses his promise ring at the strip club, when they went there to celebrate and throw him a promise bachelor party.

The show has been renewed for a second season which is great news for us over here at sandwichjohnfilms.

The series follows three incoming freshmen (Darin Brooks, Chris Romano, Sam Jones III) who attend Midwestern football powerhouse Blue Mountain State and must quickly adapt to college life while juggling football, women, classes and nonstop hazing.

Co-starring on "Mountain" are NFL running back-turned-actor Ed Marinaro as the team's coach, Gabrielle Dennis as Jones' controlling girlfriend and Alan Ritchson as a senior on the team.

New Trailer For How To Train Your Dragon

New Trailer For How To Train Your Dragon

How to Train Your Dragon, also known as How to Train Your Dragon 3D, is an upcoming computer-animated film by DreamWorks Animation loosely based on the 2003 book of that same title. The film stars the voice talents of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Gerard Butler, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Craig Ferguson. The film is scheduled to be released on March 26, 2010.

Here is the new trailer from DreamWorks Animation.

The film is set in a mythical world of Vikings and dragons. The story centers around a viking teenager named Hiccup (Jay Baruchel), who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. The teen’s smarts and offbeat sense of humor is disliked by his tribe and its chief, Hiccup’s father, Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler). However, when Hiccup is included in Dragon Training with the other viking teens, he sees his chance to prove he has what it takes to be a fighter. After he entangles a dragon with a bolas-shooting cannon, Hiccup releases and ends up befriending the dragon, who he dubs with the name, Toothless. This relationship flips his world upside down as he strives to convince his tribe that they don't need to be dragon-slayers

Directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, the film features the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrara, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, Kristen Wiig and T.J. Miller.

Matt Damon To Star In Robert F Kennedy Biopic

Matt Damon To Star In Robert F Kennedy Biopic

In this tough marketplace, if you want to make another movie about a complex historical figure like Robert F Kennedy, you'd better bring to the table an actor with chops and bankability to excite a financier. Matt Damon does both those things. I've just heard that a deal closed at New Regency for an RFK film that has Damon attached, with Gary Ross directing and Steven Knight scripting. Damon will wait to see the script before we know whether or not the project will really happen. The film will be based on the Evan Thomas biography His Life, which Landscape Entertainment’s Bob Cooper optioned and will produce with Ross and his Larger Than Life partner Alison Thomas.

While Damon just played South African rugby star Francois Pienaar in Invictus, he has never played a real figure like Kennedy. The film will trace RFK's transformation from the younger brother in the shadow brother President John F Kennedy to a strong national leader in his own right before he was gunned down in 1968. His assassination at the Ambassador Hotel was the backdrop for Emilio Estevez’s Bobby, and Chris Columbus and his 1492 partners are developing The Last Campaign on RFK's presidential run. Ross, too, has long been fascinated with Kennedy and once optioned the Thomas book himself.

Shooting is scheduled to start in Bulgaria in March.

Captain America Casting News

Captain America Casting News

It could happen as Marvel conducts screen tests this week in its search for the actor to play Steve Rogers, the alter ego of the title character in its "Captain America" movie.

The company's latest superhero movie is being directed by Joe Johnston and tells the story of the young infirm man rejected from enlisting who becomes America's symbol of liberty during World War II and eventually a member of Marvel's superhero team the Avengers.

About seven actors have moved to the front of the super soldier serum testing line and have either tested or are expected to screen test this week and next at Marvel's Manhattan Beach headquarters.

Those known to be on the list with John Krasinski include Michael Cassidy (who appeared in"Smallvile" and who tested for the Superman movie when McG was going to direct it), Patrick Flueger (one of the stars of "The 4400" who most recently appeared in the Tobey Maguire movie "Brothers"), Scott Porter (TV's "Friday Night Lights") and Mike Vogel ("Cloverfield").

Chace Crawford is also in talks to screen test, though no deal has been made.

Garret Hedlund, already starring in Disney's "Tron," was also on the list to test but has fallen off, at least for now, because of scheduling conflicts. Insiders say he may still make the testing round. Jensen Ackles is another actor who had scheduling conflicts.

The studio has put the actors on 30-day holds during the testing process.

Sources on both sides caution that an actor may not be found from the tests, which happened during Marvel's search for the man who would be "Thor." For that movie, currently shooting in Manhattan Beach, the studio conducted several rounds of testing but found its star, Chris Hemsworth, late in the game, after initially passing on his audition reel.

While Marvel is looking for someone on the youngish side and who can play rugged, one key ingredient emerging is that the actor be American, according to insiders. So far, no British or Australian actors have been seriously considered though the search could widen if no suitable candidates are found.

David Goyer Writing Superman Man Of Steel?

David Goyer Writing Superman Man Of Steel?

I know a lot of you folks are going to ask "Isn't Goyer writing the third Batman film?" Goyer is only helping in the story, he ain't writing it. Just like The Dark Knight where he only helped with the story.

Without any further adieu..

The talented David Stephen Goyer, the man who made sure Nolan stuck to the legend of El Dark Knight, has been hired to write the next chapter.

1. Thomas Tull, the head of Legendary, got tired of all the discussion and decided chingate, let's do it. So he went to Goyer and Goyer had an idea that actually takes the movies back to the John Byrne incarnation. Modern. Believable. FUN! So Tull got Goyer hired.
2. The film will not be called Superman and will be called THE MAN OF STEEL.
3. Brandon Routh will not star in the film.
4. Nic Cage will NOT star in the fllm (lol)
5. Bryan Singer is not expected to direct.

Mark Millar walks around acting like he was going to write it? El Taco discovered that this was always BULLSHIT. Paul Levitz hated the guy and he was never even discussed to write it. He made all that "almost" stuff up.

I can tell you that Goyer's story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology.

Comic-Con Might Be Moving To Anaheim?

Comic-Con Might Be Moving To Anaheim?

I been going to Comic-Con the past few years as a fan and I have really enjoyed the city and all it has to offer. Met some really cool people and saw some amazing stuff. Something I look forward to every year.

If it did go to Anaheim I could add a stop to the Happiest Place on earth Disneyland, and I am sure that the prices of hotel in Anaheim would be much cheaper then San Diego. And it would be easier to access other attraction around the area like Hollywood and Los Angeles.

Wherever they decide to hold Comic-Con I will be there.

The city of Anaheim is trying to lure the annual comic book and sci-fi convention called Comic-Con from its home in San Diego.

Anaheim officials confirmed this week that they have submitted a proposal to Comic-Con board members to host the event at the Anaheim Convention Center in 2013.

With Comic-Con being such a bust to the economy of San Diego I would be surprised they would let it go with out a fight. Internal surveys show attendees spend $60 million on lodging, food and transportation during the four-day event.

Comic-Con began 40 years ago and has grown into one of the region's largest annual conventions. It routinely attracts more than 120,000 people.

The San Diego convention center has also submitted a proposal to keep Comic-Con there through 2015.

The Karate Kid Full Trailer Or Should It Be Kung Fu Kid

The Karate Kid Full Trailer Or Should It Be Kung Fu Kid

I don't care how high the movie scores it will never compare to the original film. But from the full trailer doesn't look half bad.

Generation Xers may have bemoaned the redo of their 1984 childhood favorite The Karate Kid (I know I did) with none other than silver spooner Jaden Smith taking on the Ralph Macchio role. But, perhaps the results from Sony’s early test screening of the movie from director Harold Zwart (The Pink Panther) will win converts to rejiggering Mr. Miyagi’s karate-lessons-hidden-in-manual labor. (Jackie Chan takes on the Wax on, Wax off mentor role.) Pay attention to the last scene, Remember the song. Gotta love that one.

Official Synopsis:

In Columbia Pictures' The Karate Kid, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying - and the feeling is mutual - but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts "the karate kid" on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life.

Fourth Realm Trilogy Has Been Picked Up By Fox

Fourth Realm Trilogy Has Been Picked Up By Fox

Fox has picked up the rights to the sci-fi book series known as the Fourth Realm Trilogy, written by reclusive author John Twelve Hawks, and has set "Watchmen" co-writer Alex Tse to adapt.

The first book, titled "The Traveler" and published in 2006, is set in a U.S. society run by a secret organization seeking to control the population via constant observation. Seeking to rebel against these constraints are an almost extinct group of people called Travelers, who can project their spirit into other dimensions, and their protectors, called Harlequins.

The inaugural tome centers on a reluctant Harlequin named Maya who must protect two naive Traveler brothers.

The books were best-sellers and critically well-received, with comparisons to Dan Brown, "The Matrix" and "Star Wars" used to describe a series that explores the ideas of free will and public surveillance, secret societies and good versus evil.

Helping to make the books a hit was the reclusive nature of the author. Hawks, not the person's real name, lives "off the grid," according to the series' publisher Random House, and neither his editor nor agent has ever met him. Hawks, seemingly intent on imitating some of his characters' lifestyles, communicates only via a voice scrambler and untraceable satellite phone, and during the book tour he used stand-ins.

Tse has made a name for himself in the sci-fi fantasy realm. In addition to working on "Watchmen," Tse wrote an adaptation of Japanese manga classic "Ninja Scroll" for Warners and an adaptation of Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man" for Zach Snyder, also at Warners.

Shane Black Attached To Direct Doc Savage

Shane Black Attached To Direct Doc Savage

AICN reported back in October of last year about this news and now Variety is confirming it now.

Studio is bringing Doc Savage -- known as the Man of Bronze and hero of pulp novels, films and comicbooks -- back to the bigscreen.

Shane Black is attached to direct the film from a screenplay he is penning with Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry. Neal Moritz ("Fast and Furious") will produce through his Sony-based Original Film banner.

Shane Black, who scribed screenplays such as "Lethal Weapon" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight,"

One of the most popular characters in the pulps of the 1930s and '40s, Doc Savage was also popularized on radio, film and TV. Trained since birth to be nearly superhuman in every way, Doc Savage uses his skills and powers to fight evil all over the world.

"Doc Savage is an icon, a character with limitless possibilities," said Columbia co-president Matt Tolmach of the character, who is by turns a scientist, physician, adventurer, inventor, explorer and researcher. "We have had a great experience working with Neal to bring another classic character of the era, the Green Hornet, to a new generation of fans, and we think he and Shane make the ideal team to bring Doc Savage back to the bigscreen."

“This is an opportunity to provide our fans with another cool way to watch UFC programming on the big-screen, live, in high-def and in surround sound,” said White. “UFC 111 has a stacked undercard and St-Pierre vs. Hardy and Mir vs. Carwin are both title fights, so this is the perfect event to kick off our new deal with NCM Fathom.”

I can only imagine what it is going to look like to see the fighter bigger then life on the screen and the action. Man I can not wait to attend this event. Being a huge UFC fan that I am this is going to be a must.

A little History about the fighters:

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (fighting out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 19-2 professional record) has been unstoppable since regaining the title in 2008. The 28-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt holds two career wins a piece over the legendary Matt Hughes and current UFC lightweight champion and former welterweight champion BJ Penn. The 170-pound champ defended his crown most recently against feared striker Thiago Alves at UFC 100 last July, and now St-Pierre makes his fourth title defense against one of the fiercest threats to his crown in UK superstar Dan Hardy.

Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy (fighting out of Nottingham, England, 23-6 1 NC) is unbeaten in the UFC and fresh off wins over Marcus Davis and Mike Swick. A black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, the brash 27-year-old is looking to extend his seven-fight win streak as he becomes the first British fighter to contend for a UFC title. With 11 wins by KO/TKO and three by submission, the UK fighter with the 4-0 mark in the UFC always looks for the finish.

Winner of four of his last five fights, former two-time heavyweight champion Frank Mir (fighting out of Las Vegas, Nev., 13-4) has put on the necessary muscle and weight to face the biggest challengers in the heavyweight division, and he is refocused on earning back the world title. A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with immensely improved striking, the 30-year-old knocked down feared striker Cheick Kongo at UFC 107 and then proceeded to submit the French contender with a guillotine choke, putting him firmly back in the title picture.

Originally scheduled to face UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, No. 1 contender Shane Carwin (fighting out of Denver, Colo., 11-0) has been on a tear ever since he stepped foot into the Octagon. A former national wrestling champion with dynamite in his fists, Carwin has made quick work of all three of his UFC opponents, finishing Christian Wellisch, Neil Wain and Gabriel Gonzaga within 91 seconds each. Now he takes the next step in his career against Frank Mir.

Kevin James And Vince Vaughn Best Buds

Kevin James And Vince Vaughn Best Buds

We reported last month about this film coming out. and now we have more news about the upcoming film and who will star with Vaughn.

Ron Howard is setting Kevin James to play Vince Vaughn’s best friend in the untitled Universal Pictures comedy about infidelity. The film is Howard’s next directing vehicle from a screenplay by Allan Loeb. Howard and Imagine partner Brian Grazer are prepping a spring start in Chicago. Kevin and Vince will play best friends and business partners, and Vaughn is tortured when he observes his pal’s wife getting intimate with another man. Should he tell? The comedy came from an idea by Grazer, who’ll produce with Vaughn and the actor's Wild West Picture Show banner. Imagine’s Kim Roth is executive producer. The buddy system has made for a nice transition for James after his long-running TV sitcom King of Queens. He paired with Will Smith in Hitch and Adam Sandler in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. After carrying Paul Blart: Mall Cop, he re-teamed with Sandler in Grown Ups and plays the title role in the MGM comedy The Zookeeper.

Well looks like we found another one of those gems from Japan starring American actors doing anything for a few bucks.

Growing up in Japan I have seen many of these commercial, My father was in an ad with Janet Jackson once playing Santa Claus. So this isn't that strange to me.

Die Hard 5 Could Be Coming Next Year

Die Hard 5 Could Be Coming Next Year

What do you all think about another Die Hard film? I really enjoyed the last Die Hard film, with all the action that it had for us. I know it will never win an Best Oscar award but it is one hell of a roller coaster film.

"I think we're going to do a 'Die Hard 5' next year.

That is what Bruce Willis told MTV while doing an interview for his upcoming film "Cop Out"

"The John McClane that exists is only in film and in people's minds. And it continues to grow, that mythology continues to grow," he explained.

Looks like the next film will take us worldwide. We have been in a building, an airport, in New York and the internet, so why not the entire world.

"Well it's got to go worldwide," Willis concluded. "That would be my contribution to [the next movie]."

Marlon Wayans To Portray Richard Pryor

Marlon Wayans To Portray Richard Pryor

Looks like Marlon Wayans has beat out my man Eddie Murphy to portray Richard Pryor in the upcoming biopic of the comedy giant, the news was greeted with Internet jeering. Wayans wasn't surprised when he read the disparaging comments -- you can't hang your star on films like "White Chicks" and "Little Man" without consequences.

"Look, I want to be able to make the stupidest movies ever, because they make people laugh and they make money," Wayans recently said with a smirk. "But that's not all I want to do. And I think I've proven to some people -- the ones paying attention -- that I can do more. Everybody else, well, they can wait and see and make up their mind."

Wayans believes he is on the verge of winning over skeptics and just maybe establishing a name for himself that goes beyond his status as "the other Wayans" -- or maybe even "the other-other-Wayans."

"I have no complaints," Wayans said, "but I do have a plan. I love doing comedy, but I also love to do drama."

When it comes to laughter and tragedy, it would be hard to think of a figure that bundles them together in more compelling fashion than the late Richard Pryor, a Peoria, Ill., native who grew up in his grandmother's brothel, was expelled from school at age 14 and went on to become a firebrand force in pop culture as a stand-up comic, movie star, writer. When, in 1998, he became the first recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, he was described by Lawrence Wilker, the president of the Kennedy Center, as a signature voice in the national conversation: "He struck a chord, and a nerve, with America, forcing it to look at large social questions of race and the more tragicomic aspects of the human condition."

And here's a quick fact
Quick fact: CASH Producer Naveen was the first in the US to hire Chris Hemsworth, picking him up only 6 weeks into his move into the US. Now that is before Star Trek and his upcoming Film "Thor"So all you Marvel and Thor fans should thank Mr. Naveen for giving this young man a job.
Enough for now.

And make sure if your on Twitter to add them to you friends list.

Here is a little tease of some "Behind The Scenes" of the film.

Also demand the Film Ca$h in your city and win cold hard Ca$h.

Roadside Attractions has acquired the U.S. right to "Ca$h" the film will be hitting theaters on March 26th, I am hoping that it will get a large relase and not a selected theater in only the major cities.

Lionsgate has acquired the the film for DVD. The film was produced and financed by NaveenChathappuram, of Immortal Thoughts, with Prema Thekkek serving as Executive Producer. Media 8 Entertainment is handling international sales.

If you have watched the movie South Central then you know the work of Stephen Milburn

And now he is coming back to the scene with the movie "Cash" Starring Chris Hemsworth(soon to play Thor) and Sean Bean(Boromir in The Lord of the Rings and National Treasure)

Anderson. The film had to be one of the best movies that depicted the gang life in South Central LA. Still to this day I can remember O.G Bobby Johnson. Deuce Deuce (Hoover Street Deuces). Please Leave A Comment-

Waking Sleeping Beauty Trailer

Waking Sleeping Beauty Trailer

Waking Sleeping Beauty is a documentary that we have heard incredible news about, and I am excited to finally see it with my own eyes. This is documentary is for the hard core and casual Disney fan out there. The documentary is a behind the scenes look at Disney and what what happened behind close doors from 1984-1994.

Official Plot Synopsis:

Waking Sleeping Beauty is no fairytale. It is a story of clashing egos, out of control budgets, escalating tensions… and one of the most extraordinary creative periods in animation history.

Director Don Hahn and producer Peter Schneider, key players at Walt Disney Studios Feature Animation department during the mid1980s, offer a behind-the-magic glimpse of the turbulent times the Animation Studio was going through and the staggering output of hits that followed over the next ten years. Artists polarized between the hungry young innovators and the old guard who refused to relinquish control, mounting tensions due to a string of box office flops, and warring studio heads create the backdrop for this fascinating story told with a unique and candid perspective from those that were there. Through interviews, internal memos, home movies, and a cast of characters featuring Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Roy Disney, alongside an amazing array of talented artists that includes Don Bluth, John Lasseter, and Tim Burton, Waking Sleeping Beauty shines a light on Disney Animation’s darkest hours, greatest joys and its improbable renaissance.

Seann William Scott To Star In "Hit Somebody" A No BS Hockey Film

Seann William Scott To Star In "Hit Somebody" A No BS Hockey Film

Looks like Seann William Scott wants to shake the Stiffler type cast. As we reported last week Universal is in talk to make a forth American Pie film.

Sean said that he wants to do a part like Christoph Waltz in 'Inglourious Basterds,' I did 'American Pie' three times and then versions of that in ten other movies. If it makes sense and if it makes people laugh than maybe.

Watch the video at the bottom of the post which the film will be based on.

"Seann William Scott also told us that Kevin Smith has asked him to play the main role of Buddy in his upcoming hockey movie "
Hit Somebody", based on the Warren Zevon hockey song of the same name. That song was co-written by Mitch Alborn who also wrote the screenplay with Smith, and it's about a hockey player who gets into the other hockey league of the '70s, the WHA (World Hockey Association), based on his fighting skills rather than his hockey skills.

"He's doing it for me, he's going to ask me to play the character. We've talked about it," Scott confirmed. "I grew up playing hockey, which is good because the character's not supposed to be a great player, he's a great fighter, so it's a really amazing film. He's writing it right now and he asked me about a month ago to do it and I'm like 'for sure.' I can skate okay, I'll definitely have to practice... but I can fight."

A little later, Smith told us a little more about the movie, reiterating that, counter to popular belief, it won't be his version of the '70s hockey comedy Slapshot:

"I'm going for the 'Forest Gump' of sports movies, but not in terms of the visual effects, but it takes place through many different eras," Smith told us while trying to describe the movie which has yet to find a studio to back it. "It starts in the '50s and ends in the '80s, and primarily it's a big Valentine to the game of hockey, and an even bigger Valentine to Canada. The whole movie is about the game and the land and how they're one and how only Canada can produce a hockey player. I've been a 'Canadaphile' for years now, and in terms of influence, it helps to have the writings of Stephen Brunt, the guy who wrote 'Gretzky's Tears' and 'Search for Bobby Orr,' stuff like that completely helps fill in the gaps for me not actually being Canadian."

"There's a lot of fighting, but shooting something that's visually interesting," he continued, talking passionately about the sport he's clearly loved since featuring it in his first movie Clerks. "Here's the problem with hockey in this country. In terms of visually on TV, it's not nearly as fascinating as it is in person. It's the best sport to watch live, but TV doesn't capture it the way TV can capture football, so the idea in making a hockey movie is make it as visceral as possible, so to do that, you'd have to up the action ante, and I think 'Cop Out' was a way to start that."

Natalie Portman To Star In Best Buds A Stoner Comedy

Natalie Portman To Star In Best Buds A Stoner Comedy

Natalie Portman and her production company, Handsome Charlie Films, are currently searching for a director to helm Best Buds, a stoner road comedy Portman is producing and set to star in. The independently financed comedy is said to be in the vein of Harold and Kumar and Half-Baked and will center on two best female friends who take a road trip to their friend’s wedding in order to save her by bringing her weed.

Portman has been consistent in recent years with her script choices, regularly alternating big-budget fare with independent projects. She started her own production company in order to field more scripts suited to her tastes, and she’s already got Hesher (with Joseph Gordon-Levitt) ready for theaters (it debuted at Sundance), and it’s her production company that’s also moving forward with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which is expected to come after she finishes filming Thor. Best Buds would line up well following Zombies, after which she has no other go projects.

Best Buds also seems well suited to the marketplace rife with road-trip comedies (The Hangover, the upcoming Due Date) and stoner comedies (Pineapple Express and Portman’s own Your Highness), and it would be nice to see a female-driven stoner comedy, for a change. Note, also, that this is not a remake of the Cheech & Chong film of the same name.

Newly developed Vendome Pictures, co-producing Best Buds.

Shutter Island Movie Review By: Windy

Shutter Island Movie Review
By: Windy

Another review by Windy, make sure to stop by and say Hello to her. I am so glad she is on my team.

Shutter Island, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Michele Williams and Ben Kingsly, is the story of a Federal Marshall, Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio), sent to a mental institution to investigate the disappearance of a patient. However, as we get deeper into the film, we learn Daniels has alternate motives for visiting the island.

Having fought in World War II, rescued prisoners from Dachau Concentration Camp and lived through the loss of his wife, Daniels is a person who is more troubled on the inside than he realizes. DiCaprio sinks his teeth into this role and loses himself in his character. This is one of the few films where I forgot I was watching DiCaprio and instead focused on the character. Every aspect of Daniels is well executed – from his mannerisms to his display of emotion, including loss, confusion, anger and resentment.

Daniels’ partner, Chuck Aule (Ruffalo), is suited fine for a secondary character, but he remains somewhat expressionless throughout the film. His character purposely doesn’t have much backstory until late in the film, but this lack of depth takes away from Ruffalo’s ability to bring the character to life. This is likely a fault of the character itself, and not indicative of Ruffalo’s acting.

Dr. Cawley (Kingsley) is superbly played. Everything about him makes you question his motives. You might think he’s evil in one moment and the next moment he shows compassion for his patients. Kingsley does absolutely everything right with this role and you immediately are intrigued and suspicious of his character. He was the spot-on choice for this role.

The film itself is captivating. At 137 minutes, you don’t feel a moment of the film is wasted on superfluous dialogue or imagery. Scorsese uses every minute of the film to tell a compelling, thrilling story. Particularly vivid and captivating are Daniels’ day dreams and night mares. The imagery in these scenes is sometimes romantic, sometimes sad, and always entrancing.

There are, however, two aspects to the film that could have been better. The first is the use of the “green screen” when DiCaprio and Ruffalo are against the ocean backdrop. To an avid movie-goer, it’s evident that the two actors are nowhere near an ocean. The second instance is the music in the first half of the film, which is too dramatic for the slower action. The story doesn’t really build up until after Daniels and Aule are on the island, yet the music starts off as dramatic as it ends. There was no build-up to climactic sound.

Overall, Shutter Island is a well-made film with a very strong cast. Everything about the characters and island is lifelike, and it’s a place I sure hope I never have to visit (unless it’s on DVD).
