Is The Big Bang Theory Our Generations "Friends"

Is The Big Bang Theory Our Generations "Friends"

Once upon a time, a multi-camera comedy about a group of young single friends, the core of them big-bang-theory-castliving across the hall from each other in an apartment building, aired Thursdays at 8 PM and was the biggest show on television. Will that happen again? Is The Big Bang Theory the new Friends? While the nerdy geniuses from Big Bang seem light years with the cool and sexy bunch from the hit NBC comedy, the two shows have a lot more in common than meets the eye. Both are ensemble comedies largely set at the two apartments across from each other where the main character leave. A guy from one of the apartments starts dating a girl from the other. Both shows have catchy title songs. And now, they both share the Thursday 8PM time slot. Just how ballsy was CBS’ decision to launch a comedy block at 8 PM anchored by Big Bang? The last time the network tried that was 45 years ago with Gilligan's Island at 8 PM.

There has always been an invisible segregation on the TV schedule. For instance, Thursday has always been NBC’s comedy night, Monday has been CBS’. Will viewers follow Big Bang if it leaves sheltered existence on CBS’ established comedy night and ventures into hostile territory? CBS already has a solid track record in gaining ground on Thursday: It was the first network to undermine NBC’s dominance on the night when it moved Survivor and CSI there nine years ago. And Big Bang already is the highest-rated scripted series on television. But it became No.1 thanks to airing behind Two and a Half Men this season. Its originals hover above a 5 rating in adults 18-49, but when it aired as an anchor at 9 PM recently, it dropped to a 4.6 rating. Even at that level, Big Bang would probably be the highest rated series on Thursday night but I’m sure CBS didn't go through all this trouble to get only a marginal improvement over long-time Thursday anchor Survivor. I'm sure CBS is hoping for a big ratings bang; I'm sure it is hoping for a new Friends.

Who Is The Man In The Shadow From Cowboys & Aliens?

Who Is The Man In The Shadow From Cowboys & Aliens?

Director Jon Favreau who’s about to film the adaptation Cowboys & Aliens, recently tweeted this image, which didn’t show much. Part of camera tests, showing a sihouette of some dude standing, with a very bright backlight, he’s obviously in costume but no one knows who that was. Jon talked to Collider at a recent screening of Empire Strikes Back that in deed it was film star Daniel Craig.

Favreau:

I know, if you look at him, we just did our camera tests. That’s him.

On the Twitter pic?

That’s him. We couldn’t really show too much because he didn’t want to reveal any images on Twitter but I wanted to kind of get a sense of the feel of it. He’s also somebody who plays an iconic figure that has a long tradition. So to have him playing a cowboy, I feel very good now having shot him and worked with him and hearing his thoughts. And the whole cast is great. With each person we add, the enthusiasm grows, with Rockwell and [Paul] Dano, of course Harrison. So far it’s great. The only thing that’s scary is we’re going to be shooting soon.

The movie will be starring Han Solo, James Bond, Justin Hammer, ever so sexy Quorra (Tron Legacy.) what more could you ask for in a film? The film really stars Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, and Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell and Noah Ringer. The film will be directed by Jon Favreau and Co-produced by Steven Spielberg.

The film will be based on a graphic novel written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley from an original idea by Rosenberg.

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

Comic-Con Documentary Heading To The Big Screen

Comic-Con Documentary Heading To The Big Screen

If you have never been to Comic-Con you need to get off your ass and leave all your worries behind and give it a try. This year is out of the question they have already Sold Out.

If you have an interest in attending Comic Con for the first time this year or sometime in the future have an open mind and enjoy yourself. It's more then just comics and geeks.

I got Mandalorian Love.

Comic-Con is headed to the bigscreen in a new documentary, "Comic-Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope."

Morgan Spurlock will direct and collaborate with "The Avengers" director Joss Whedon, comicbook vet Stan Lee, Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles and Legendary Pictures' topper Thomas Tull on the look at the annual fest for fanboys that takes place each year in San Diego.

The docu will follow seven fans from across America, and around the world, as they descend upon Comic-Con. Project will start shooting in June and wrap up in July at the Con. Confab takes place July 22-25.

Tull is financing the film independently from his day job as chairman of Legendary Pictures. Pic is expected to eventually be released in theaters.

Tull will produce alongside Spurlock's Warrior Poets producing partner, Jeremy Chilnick. Whedon, Lee and Knowles will executive produce.

"We look forward to capturing the spirit, energy and people that Comic-Con has infused into legions of fans, bringing these audiences and projects out of the halls and onto a world stage," Tull said.

Spurlock, best known for the docu "Super-Size Me," trekked to San Diego last year to film the doc "The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special: In 3-D! On Ice!"

"When I was a kid, comics changed my life and my world," Spurlock said. "So when I got to San Diego, I felt like I was home. It was such an overwhelming experience for me, and I soon found out that I was not alone. So for me to get to share the experience of Comic-Con with fans all over the world will be an incredible opportunity."

Legendary has a history in making films that appeal to the Comic-Con contingent, having co-produced Warner Bros.' recent redo of "Clash of the Titans," along with "Where the Wild Things Are," the last two Batman adventures, "Superman Returns," "Watchmen" and "300." It's planning a reboot of "Godzilla."

Oldman voices a character named Peacock who helps Po find the bandits but is more than he seems.

The plot will involve a new villain with a weapon so powerful it threatens the very existence of kung fu and their world. It is up to Po (Jack Black), Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), and the Furious Five (Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and Jackie Chan) to defend what they know. Along the way, Po must confront his past.

New Extended "Inception" Spot

Official synopsis for Inception:

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. Ashley Greene And Hayden Panettiere Offered Roles In Scream 4

Ashley Greene And Hayden Panettiere Offered Roles In Scream 4

Lake Bell is in negotiations to join the franchise, and offers are out to “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin (“Twelve”) for key starring roles.

“Scream 4” reunites Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who kicked off a horror- movie revival with his “Scream” script in 1996. The story brings back original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, though the new flick is seen as a passing of the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, with Williamson already under contract to write a fifth installment.

If deals are concluded, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin Jill, essentially the heroine of the movie, and Panettiere would play her best friend, a nerdy film geek. Culkin would play a potential love interest for Jill.

Bell is negotiating to play a police officer who knew Sidney (Campbell) from high school.

Casting is proceeding slowly because Craven and Dimension are not sending the script to agencies in order to protect its secrecy. With only character descriptions, actors are having a difficult time deciding whether certain roles are for them. Reps for the actors declined comment.

Craven, Williamson and Iya Labunka are producing the feature, which is slated for an April 15 release. Original producer Cathy Konrad is not aboard the production and is suing the Weinsteins, alleging that she was cut out of “Scream 4.”

James Franco To Become An Ape

James Franco To Become An Ape

James Franco has his damn dirty paws on the lead role in “Rise of the Apes,” Fox’s prequel to its “Planet of the Apes” franchise.

Rupert Wyatt is on board to direct the feature project, which focuses on a scientist (Franco) who has been working on a cure for Alzheimer's that is being tested on apes. The test subject named Caesar starts to evolve rapidly, and the scientist takes him home to live with him and protects him from cruel doctors.

The story is designed to be show the modern-day event that set in motion the eventual dominance of apes over humans seen the classic 1960s and '70s movies. It is unclear how much of the movie will focus on the ape inciting an ape revolution, but given that effects company WETA is on board, the monkey play could be significant.

The apes will not be actors in costumes but rather rendered digitally to be photo-realistic by WETA, employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for “Avatar.”

Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark will produce for Chernin Entertainment under its new pact with Fox. Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa wrote the screenplay and are producing.

Emma Watson What To Do After Harry Potter?

Emma Watson What To Do After Harry Potter?

What are you going to do when the Harry Potter films are over jump right into an Indie film. That is what Emma Watson is going to do.

Emma Watson and Logan Lerman are in talks to star in indie coming-of-age drama "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," set up at John Malkovich's Mr. Mudd.

"Perks of Being a Wallflower" author Stephen Chbosky will direct from his own script with Lianne Halfon, Malkovich and Russell Smith producing.

For Watson, the casting would mark her first feature role outside her work as Hermione Granger in Warner Bros.' eight "Harry Potter" films. Final pic, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II," is set for release in July 2011.

She appeared in 2007 telepic "Ballet Shoes" and voiced Princess Pea in 2008's "The Tale of Despereaux."

Lerman, who starred in "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," has been cast as D'Artagnan in Paul W.S. Anderson's version of "Three Musketeers" for Constantin.

Here’s the synopsis of the book…

“Standing on the fringes of life…

offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a provocative new voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

This is the story of what it’s like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie’s letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.”

Robert Rodriguez Acquires Fire And Ice

Robert Rodriguez Acquires Fire And Ice

Producer Robert Rodriguez  told AICN, that he has bought the right to the 1983 animated movie Fire And Ice. I have never heard of this film before, maybe growing up in Japan as a kid is a bad thing? But I bet it is one of Rando's Favorite.

Yep! The awesome Ralph Bakshi and I have been working it out for a while, and it’s now a TROUBLEMAKER STUDIOS PICTURE. What’s cool is, unlike past projects that I’d get involved with that would get stalled for various reasons, I control the rights to this one. So it’s actually in my power to set it up and get it made, which wasn’t the case on other projects. And for you filmmakers out there, that’s really the best way to get things done. If you can manage to get the rights yourself to a property by dealing directly with the artists and creators like I did with Frank Miller on SIN CITY, and now with Ralph Bakshi on FIRE and ICE, it makes a world of difference and you can get started sooner rather than never.

The original version, released by Fox, directed by Ralph Bakshi in collaboration with the late Frank Frazetta, was made using the process of rotoscoping, in which scenes were shot in live action and then traced onto animation cells.

Two New Jonah Hex TV Spots

Two New Jonah Hex TV Spots

We got our hands on two new Jonah Hex Television spots.  From what they have shown in the trailer and these two spots the film looks to be action packed for sure. Let's just hope they saved some of the action for us to watch during the film.

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone... and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the "other side." His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah's past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah's oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Early rumors emerged about a zombie army or Quentin trying to rewin the war, but these were dismissed when producers said "Quentin is more of a terrorist upset about the outcome of the war not someone trying to fight and rewin it."

Megamind Full Trailer Starring Will Ferrell And Brad Pitt

Megamind Full Trailer Starring Will Ferrell And Brad Pitt

Here is your first look at "Megamind" Starring Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill. DreamWorks Animation is really putting out the films in their animation department. Looks like they are trying to keep up with Disney/Pixar films. I am not for sure that I would want to go see this film, but being a father of two little kids I am sure I will make my way out to theaters.

Here's the Story Synopsis:

Megamind is the most brilliant supervillain the world has ever known. And the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way. Each attempt, a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as 'Metro Man,' an invincible hero until the day Megamind actually kills him in the throes of one of his botched evil plans. Suddenly, Megamind has no purpose. A supervillain without a superhero. He realizes that achieving his life's ambition is the worst thing that ever happened to him. Megamind decides that the only way out of his rut is to create a new hero opponent called 'Titan,' who promises to be bigger, better and stronger than Metro Man ever was. Pretty quickly Titan starts to think it's much more fun to be a villain than a good guy. Except Titan doesn't just want to rule the world, he wants to destroy it. Now, Megamind must decide: can he defeat his own diabolical creation? Can the world's smartest man make the smart decision for once? Can the evil genius become the unlikely hero of his own story?

Megan Fox- "My Decision Not To Return To Transformers 3"

Megan Fox-"My Decision Not To Return To Transformers 3"

Yesterday the buzz around the movie world was that Megan Fox was not returning to Transformers 3. And that Paramount won't be picking up Megan Fox's option on Transformers 3 -- and that it was "ultimately" director Michael Bay's decision.  Who do you believe?  I could really careless to be honest, just get this sorted out and move on with the movie.

It was only time till we heard from Megan herself or her team about these rumors. One of her reps wanted to clear up the rumors:

“Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3,"  "It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”

Variety reports the studio and the film's director, Michael Bay, intend to cast another actress as star Shia LaBeouf's love interest to move the story in a different direction.

Top 5 Stoner Movies Of All-Time

Top 5 Stoner Movies Of All-Time

Since the beginning of its popularity in the United States, marijuana has influenced generations, cultures, as well as blockbuster Hollywood films. Marijuana is so popular, it has been said that more than 18 million people used it in 2009, and that's just the out-of-the-closet potheads. What if you added the behind-the-scenes, no-one knows, users? That number would probably triple. If it wasn't so, Hollywood wouldn't make movies about it, and we wouldn't have these hilariously funny movies to watch. It's time to countdown the Top 5 Stoner Films of All-Time, so sit back and relax, because it's time to get BAKED! (Note: When I say Stoner films, I mean Stoner films. These are all films that are either dedicated to or are influenced by marijuana.)

5. Pineapple Express - Written and directed by team Apatow (the guys who brought us Superbad, The 40-year-old Virgin, and Knocked up), this 2008 film is based on the lives of a pot smoking process server and his burnt-out weed dealer, who get caught up in drug war between two gangs after one of them witnesses a murder. After being witness to a murder, the process server (Dale Denton) runs to his dealers house (Saul Silver), and then the fun begins. While running from one of the gang leaders, who is a marijuana kingpin, the two engage in some ridiculous action sequences with Saul's supplier and two odd charactered henchmen. This over-the-top comedy's formula of constant humor, outrageous and ridiculous action scenes, and the perfect chemistry between actors Seth Rogan and James Franco, makes this one of the best stoner films to ever hit the big screen.

4. Grandma's Boy - This under-rated 2006 movie, is a hilarious film that comes from, Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions. The film is about a 35 year old pothead video game tester named Alex, who is surrounded by a bunch of burnt-out friends, and is forced to move in with his over-bearing grandma and her two room mates. To save face with his co-workers Alex makes up stories about having three sex-crazed room mates, and when the cat comes out of the bag, the real party starts at grandma's house. Filled with hilarious scenes throughout the movie, it very hard to pick a favorite, but I guarantee that this film will having you crying from laughing so much.

3. Friday - Released in 1995, this hilarious film about a typical day of two youths in South Central, depicts the reality of growing up in the hood without all the shoot-em gang banging found in most fils about inner city life. The two main characters of the movie are played by Chris Tucker, who plays "Smokey" a marijuana-worshipping homeboy, and Ice Cube, who plays "Craig", a frustrated teen that is right in the middle of all the drama of the hood. After Craig gets fired on his day off, the two embark on a marijuana filled journey, as Smokey influences him to get high with him. Throughout the movie, the two encounter crackheads, a neighbor hood bully, a drug dealing gang banger with a perm, and a scheming girlfriend, in hilariously funny skits. This is definitely a must see film, regardless if you are a stoner or not.

2. Fast Times at Ridgemont High - This 1982 film, was written by Cameron Crowe, after he spent a year undercover in a California high school researching for a book he was writing. The story line deals with the lives of a few iconic teens, including one of the schools most popular kids, a nerd, a teen queen, and the class stoner, who finds himself in a battle with a strict history teacher. This very entertaining and hilarious film launched the careers of Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Phoebe Cates.

1. Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke - This 1978 film should top all stoners lists and it can be considered the "Holy Grail", of Stoner films. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong make their film debut as acclaimed potheads in this rock-n-roll comedy classic. The film is based on two bumbling potheads that are on a journey looking for "Primo Bud", rock-n-roll, and good times without realizing the van they are driving is completely made up of it. Throughout the film the two are being followed by a group of undercover cops that are trying to bust them, but seem to have a problem doing so, since they are continuously getting a contact high from the smoking van. One great scene in the film, is when the undercover cops pull Cheech and Chong over, and then forget why they did while standing next to the van. This is definitely a must see film if you love love stoner films. Stoners missing out on this film, would be like a person that loves mafia flicks, never watching "The Godfather".

Jemaine Clement To Play Villain 'Men in Black 3'

Jemaine Clement To Play Villain 'Men in Black 3'

“Flight of the Conchords” star Jemaine Clement is in final negotiations to play one of the villains in Columbia’s “Men in Black 3.”

Will Smith recently signed his deal to return as the alien-chasing government agent, as did returning director Barry Sonnenfeld.

Most of the action is taking place in 1969, with Josh Brolin playing a young Tommy Lee Jones, who will bookend the movie.

Most of the new casting will be the villains, whose identities, look and super-abilities are being kept under lock and key. It is known that Clement is playing a villain named Boris, who is described as being charmy and creepy at the same time. (The name Yaz was used as a filler name, and since the script is still being polished, there is a chance the name may change again.)

My mother just got back from Japan and I ask her to bring back a Japanese film magazine called Screen so I can look through the magazine and enjoy something different. Maybe see some different advertisements or articles.

Flipping through the magazine there were a few pictures of Rob and Kristen.  The pictures in the magazine are some candid shots and pictures of the entire cast promoting Twilight Saga: New Moon in Japan.

Also in the magazine they had an interview with Anna Kendrick .

Man Twilight is everywhere I turn.

Captain America To Begin Filming In London

Captain America To Begin Filming In London

Really what is the big deal people, movies are shot all over the world. But if you have your panties in a bunch to why they are filming Captain America: The First Avenger in London,  we have some info for you to the reason behind the decision. Other than it’s WWII setting, it’s mostly to save cost and for the tax incentives…

The upcoming movie from Marvel Studios was originally to be filmed in Los Angeles. Instead, “Captain America: The First Avenger,” starring Chris Evans, Samuel Jackson and Hugo Weaving, will shoot this July in London, where the story is partially set.

But the studio, which was acquired by Walt Disney Co. last year, concluded that London was the best location for “Captain America,” largely because the story is set in Europe and will feature a number of scenes in London such as Piccadilly Circus, and also because of favorable tax incentives.

Though Marvel could have done the stage work in L.A. and shot exteriors in London, it wasn’t economically feasible to split the production between two locations, given the heavy filming required in Europe, said Marvel Studios co-President Louis D’Esposito, who oversees physical production.

D’Esposito, who was recently recognized by the Los Angeles City Council for his efforts to keep production in Hollywood, said he had strongly considered L.A.
“I actually had location scouts here to see what could be done,” he said. “But it would have required so much visual-effects work and set construction, it didn’t make sense.”

D’Esposito acknowledged that Britain’s film incentive, which offers a 20% to 25% payable tax credit on qualified expenditures, was another factor. Marvel could not apply for a tax credit from California’s program because the film’s budget, in the $140-million range, would make it ineligible, said D’Esposito, who personally lobbied California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to enact a film tax program, which took effect last year. California’s program excludes films costing more than $75 million.

Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

Starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull and Toby Jones as Arnim Zola

In addition to Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters THOR on May 6, 2011, and Marvel Studios’ THE AVENGERS on May 4, 2012.

Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.

Megan Fox Will Not Return In Transformers 3

Megan Fox Will Not Return In Transformers 3

Paramount won't be picking up Megan Fox's option on Transformers 3 -- and that it was "ultimately" director Michael Bay's decision. (So he gets his revenge for her remark comparing him to "Hitler".) Right now Bay and writer Ehren Kruger et al are finishing up the script for the threequel and "giving Shia a new love interest makes more sense for the story," an insider tells me. Bay will start casting immediately for the new female co-star.

Now we might all want to take this with a grain of salt, but Deadline has always been right on with their information.  And now we have news that  Variety has also confirmed this news.

So did Megan deserve to get fired? I say yes. No actor/actress can expect to go around dissing a director and expect to work together as if nothing happened. Much less the egotistical Bay. But in Fox, he had met his match. Why, as recently as this week Megan was quoted as dissing Bay yet again. In recent months she has shown off a more natural skin hue instead of her usual orange color -- and blamed the Transformers helmer for her unhealthy tanning binge. "I had been tanning a lot so that Michael would be happy with my skin tone. Every spare moment of sun that was outside, I had to be in it," the 24-year-old actress lamented in Allure magazine. "It's not going to happen again because of the damage and the possible skin cancer."

This is without doubt a huge blow to Megan's career, already damaged by her inability to open Twentieth's Fox Atomic film Jennifer's Body last September. The R-rated feminist horror flick did a pathetic $6.8M weekend for a script by Juno's Diablo Cody for a domestic total of only $16.2M and a worldwide take of just $31.5M. And talk about bad timing: right now she's doing publicity for her role in Jonah Hex to be released June 18th. Guess what everyone will ask her?

Nevertheless, my news today comes a shocker because back in October Bay announced that he had scheduled Transformers 3 for July 1st, 2011, and made a point to archly warn Megan personally about the rigors of this new installment:

"P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you."

Channing Tatum To Play Addict In "What's Left of Us"

Channing Tatum To Play Addict In "What's Left of Us"

The Dear John heartthrob and G.I. Joe action figure will star in What's Left of Us, based on Richie Farrell’s novel, which the author is adapting for the screen. Based on a true story, Tatum will play a heroin addict going through 7 excruciating days in detox.

The project is one of 3 films that new London and Los Angeles-based producer and financier Berkeley Square Films has announced here.

Meanwhile, BSF’s first $7M production, Black Pearl, will start filming in October. Star Wars star Mark Hamill, another board member, will direct based on his own Dark Horse graphic novel. Michael Uslan (The Dark Knight) is executive producing. Hamill tells me that Black Pearl will be a near-documentary look at what would happen if a vigilante dressed up as a superhero. “It’s about a guy addicted to adrenalin.”

Drew Barrymore Set To Revisit Oz

Drew Barrymore Set To Revisit Oz

Surrender Dorothy, yet another Wizard of Oz sequel, has been resurrected. The project was first announced in 2002. It was based on a Zach Helm script (Stranger Than Fiction) and had Drew Barrymore attached to star. She is now attached to direct, as a follow-up to her directorial debut, Whip It.

The original project seemingly stalled back in the early aughts. In fact, I can’t even find a mention of it since October 2002, but with the proliferation of Oz projects in development, there’s no time like now to resurrect an old idea. The project is still set up at Warner Brothers and Flower Films (Barrymore’s production company), though I have no word on whether she’s still planning to star as the great, great granddaughter of Dorothy who has to learn how to use the power of those ruby red slippers to keep the Wicked Witch of the West from taking control of the kingdoms of Earth and Oz. (That story doesn’t sound too dissimilar to Josh Olson’s version, which is also in development, along with a prequel that focuses on the Wizard, to which Robert Downey, Jr. is attached).

It’s wishful thinking, perhaps, but given Barrymore’s relationship with Ellen Page now, it might be cool to see her star as the lead in this sequel, as Page is closer in age to Barrymore when she was first offered the part. Also, I like thinking of Ellen Page as Drew Barrymore’s muse. And by muse, of course I mean: Make-out partner.

Will "Blood Oath" Be The Male Version Of Twilight?

Will "Blood Oath" Be The Male Version Of Twilight?

UPDATE:

According to Heat Vision Lucas Foster and his Warp Films have picked up the rights to “Blood Oath,”

From what I have heard about "Blood Oath" it is going to be nothing less than a hit. You know for sure Hollywood will be calling. Christopher Farnsworth is that your phone ringing?

With the success Of the Twilight franchise and True Blood, just to name a few, anything with Vampires in it is the new flavor of the week.

But only a great story and writer can make it a success. I am hoping that Mr. Farnsworth will indeed succeed.

If this book does get turned into a film it will be a refreshing look at vampires, no more vampire love stories or who's team are you on. Just a bad ass movie.

We need to get back to being Ballsy!!

Now here's a political-thriller concept with bite: Putnam will release "Blood Oath," which tells the tale of Nathaniel Cade, a vampire who has secretly served and protected every U.S. president for the past 140 years.

"It's got a bit of a '24' concept to it so some people are describing it as Jack Bauer meets Dracula, or '24' meets 'True Blood,' " said Farnsworth, a former Orange County Register reporter who walked away from journalism in 2002 to reinvent himself as a screenwriter. The writers strike undermined his plan to make "Blood Oath" a pure film project but vampire Cade may end up in a darkened theater anyway; there's already Hollywood interest in the property even though the publication date is months away.

Putnam is planning a series devoted to the adventures of Cade. In the first book, the duty-bound bloodsucker is paired with a new Oval Office liaison, the cocky and calculating Zach Barrows. The two uneasy partners then uncover a grisly plot to use the battlefield corpses of American soldiers as biological weapons. The mastermind behind the plot? An ageless scientist who inspired Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein."

The idea for the character of Cade was plucked from the work of Charles Fort, the American writer who died in 1932 after years of investigations into the fantastic and the unknown that led to quite the following. Fort wrote of a man accused of vampirism who was pardoned by Andrew Jackson, and Farnsworth took that long-ago oddity and ran with it.

"I asked myself, 'What could the president of the United States offer a vampire?' and 'What could a vampire offer the president?' The answer to both is, well, quite a lot.... It was an idea that just wouldn't let go of me, I had to exorcise it, to phrase it as dramatically as possible."

Farnsworth knows that cold-skinned vampires are red-hot in pop culture these days, which he considers a good news-bad news proposition. "I'm definitely worried about vampire fatigue," Farnsworth says. "But then another way to look at it is the way a friend of mine put it: Saying the vampire thing is over is like saying the cop movie or the cop television show is over. There seems to be ongoing interest in it, so..."

Alfred Molina Joins Taylor Lautner In "Abduction"

Lionsgate just got a boost for its Cannes sales effort on Abduction, setting Alfred Molina to play a key role in the drama that stars Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner. Lautner plays a young man who realizes he was kidnapped as a child, and is forced to run for his life after he reaches out to find his real parents. Molina will play a dogged CIA agent who is one step behind, determined to bring the teenager in alive. John Singleton is directing the Shawn Christensen script.

Jaime King's Show "My Generation" Picked Up By ABC And Preview

Jaime King's Show "My Generation" Picked Up By ABC And Preview

Jaime King's new show has been picked up by ABC, "My Generation" will premiere as a lead into  "Grey's Anatomy" at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday nights on ABC.  Could you ask for a better time slot?

Jaime King's is one of our favorite actress in Hollywood with her love for Stars Wars and having one of the coolest husbands in show business director Kyle Newman.

"My Generation" is a faux-documentary about a group of high school students and where they are in their lives 10 years after they graduated.

It stars Michael Stahl-David ("The Black Donnellys"), Kelli Garner ("Lars and the Real Girl"), Jaime King ("The Class"), Keir O'Donnell ("Sons of Anarchy"), Sebastian Sozzi ("Choke"), Mehcad Brooks ("The Deep End," "True Blood"), Anne Son ("Wake"), Daniella Alonso ("Friday Night Lights") and Julian Morris ("24," "ER"). "My Generation" was created and written by Noah Hawley ("The Unusuals," "Bones"), who is also an executive producer.

What a difference ten years can make. In 2000, a documentary crew follows a disparate group of high schoolers from Greenbelt High School in Austin, TX as they prepare for graduation, then revisits these former classmates ten years later as they return home to rediscover that just because they're not where they planned doesn't mean they're not right where they need to be.

These students couldn't wait to graduate and head out into the real world. But the world they were entering got very real very fast. As these classmates return home to revisit their old hopes for their future, they'll discover that, even if you don't get exactly what you thought you wanted out of life, it's not too late to get what you need.
