Emilia Clarke Joins the Han Solo Stand-Alone Film

Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away -- and she's going to meet Han and Chewie. StarWars.com is excited to announce that Clarke, known for her stirring portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke's role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures. Clarke joins Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover — previously cast as Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, respectively — in the highly-anticipated film, which is set prior to the original Star Wars trilogy. The untitled Han Solo movie, helmed by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is set for release in 2018. Please Leave A Comment-

Here's Your New Han Solo

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo charged with the job of bringing a young Han Solo to our screens, appear to have made their choice of the man to fill the role for the stand-alone film. After a long casting process, Hail, Caesar! 's Alden Ehrenreich has clinched it. Now, we'd caution at this point that it's one of those "sources tell us" stories in the New York Post and hasn't (at time of writing this) been officially confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm. So we're obliged to fire up the old rumour klaxon for what will probably be the last time in this particular case. Ehrenreich , who is reportedly in the final stages of hammering out his deal to play the young rogue made iconic by Harrison Ford , won the role over the likes of Jack Reynor, Ansel Elgort and thousands of unknowns who tried out for it. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-writer Lawrence Kasdan working on the script alongside son Jon, story details are somewhat naturally being kept l

Is Ryan Reynolds Joining The Rosie Project?

First it was developing with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller , until they defected to Han Solo. Then Richard Linklater was attached with Jennifer Lawrence set to star, but both dropped out last October. So now it's all change again for The Rosie Project, and this time it's Ryan Reynolds taking an interest. The Rosie Project is based on the novel by Graeme Simsion (although Simsion actually wrote it as a screenplay before he turned it into a book). It's the story of professor Don Tillman, an on-the-spectrum genetics expert who never seems to be able to land a second date. He starts The Wife Project, working up a questionnaire to find the perfect partner, but is instead entranced by the free-spirited Rosie, who matches none of his criteria but might just be his soul mate. The book has been a bestseller both here and in Australia where it's set, and a sequel, The Rosie Effect, arrived last year. (500) Days Of Summer writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber wr

Seth Grahame-Smith Is In Talks To Direct & Write The Flash

THR is reporting Seth Grahame-Smith is in negotiations to direct and write The Flash , Warner Bros.' comic book movie based on the iconic DC Entertainment scarlet speedster super hero. The movie project has a treatment from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the Lego Movie duo that were also eyeing it as a possible directing vehicle. Instead, the busy duo is headed to a galaxy far, far away (in this case just down the street to Disney) to tackle the Han Solo Star Wars movie, thus instigating a new search for a helmer. Flash already has a release date – March 3, 2018 – and an actor who portrays the classic hero known as "the fastest man alive" – Ezra Miller . Miller’s Flash, aka. Barry Allen, is due to be introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , and then more prominently in Justice League Part 1, which will be released in the summer of 2017. The Flash is already generating awareness in the form of a hit television series on the CW. Charles Roven is pr

Lego Movie Creators Developing Animated Spider-Man Film

Yet another Spidey project trapped in the web. By Brandon Wolfe Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the sneaky geniuses behind the Jump Street films and The Lego Movie , are developing an animated Spider-Man film for release on July 20, 2018, in an announcement made by Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman at CinemaCon. The film will be independent from the live-action Spider-Man film being developed jointly by Sony and Marvel for Summer 2017. Lord and Miller will write and produce the animated film. Lots of Spidey action heading our way in the future. Discuss this story with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . 23 Jump Street Is In The Works

22 Jump Street is the tenth-highest-grossing movie of the year at the domestic box office–and the highest-grossing movie of the year to feature no superheroes, transformers, monsters, apes, LEGOs, or Maleficents. Unsurprisingly, Deadline reports that Sony is working on a Jump Street threequel (a possibility that 22 Jump Street teasingly joked about.) The studio has hired writer Rodney Rothman, who was one of the four credited writers on 22 Jump Street. It’s unclear at this point whether directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will helm the threequel, but they are already onboard as producers. Please Leave A Comment- Source- EW

22 Jump Street Review: Many Funny Parts But Original Is Better

The insanely funny 22 Jump Street has its many moments, but just falls behind its slightly better original. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in 2012 transformed a long-sleeping (and frankly boring) television series into a hilarious piece of comedy, demonstrating that nearly everything has a second life. Their follow-up 22 Jump Stree t is almost as funny as the original, but that doesn't mean we like it any less. Based almost entirely around the premise that our heroes Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) must do EXACTLY the same thing that they did in 21 Jump Street , they're set out to impersonate college students looking for a drug supplier. Their captain (Ice Cube) literally commands them: "Do the same thing as last time. Exactly the same thing." Soon, they're doing just that, partying at frat houses with Schmidt screwing women and Jenko acting as the star WR on the college's football team. But their relationship soon hits the
