“Camera Cars” New Featurette From NEED FOR SPEED

The fourth in a series of Behind-The-Scenes Featurettes, “Camera Cars,” from NEED FOR SPEED is here.

DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” marks an exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when the authenticity of the world brought a new level of intensity to the action on-screen. Tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing, the story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country journey for our heroes — one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Based on the most successful racing video game franchise ever with over 140 million copies sold, "Need for Speed" captures the freedom and excitement of the game in a real-world setting, while bringing to life the passion for the road that has made our love of cars so timeless.

The film centers around Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul), a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Maddon (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey's shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn’t commit, and sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out West.

Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge — but he knows his only chance to take down his rival Dino is to defeat him in the high-stakes race known as De Leon — the Super Bowl of underground racing. However to get there in time, Tobey will have to run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet that includes dodging pursuing cops coast-to-coast as well as contending with a dangerous bounty Dino has put out on his car. With the help of his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

“Need for Speed” is presented by DreamWorks Pictures, produced by Patrick O’Brien, John Gatins and Mark Sourian, and directed by Scott Waugh. The screenplay is by George Gatins. The story is by George Gatins & John Gatins, and, based on the video game series created by Electronic Arts. The film releases in U.S. theaters on March 14, 2014.

Disney's Frozen Heading To Broadway

Spending weeks at the top of the US box office charts, defying even its own company’s high expectations. Overtaking The Lion King to become the highest-grossing Disney film in the States. And sending its soundtrack album roaring to the head of several music listings. No surprise, then, that the Mouse House is seriously looking at turning Frozen into a musical.

Given how the company likes to spin-off its movies, this was probably a given from the opening weekend, but, talking to Forbes magazine, CEO Bob Iger has said they’re in deep discussions about the idea, though he says, "We're not demanding speed. We're demanding excellence."

Frozen, even more so than, say, Tangled, has Broadway in its bones thanks to the lyrical (and story) contributions from composing couple Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who have between them contributed to various hit musicals including Avenue Q and The Book Of Mormon. While Frozen’s technical challenges might be considerable given all the snowy scenes and effects, it’s probably no more problematic than, say, making The Lion King work. And though the composers, who worked closely with directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, are busy on other projects (including one for Disney itself), they’ve said they’d be interested should the story of Anna, Elsa and co. make it to the stage.

With the film still storming the box office and yet to open in Japan and China, its stage future seems assured.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: The Cast (Past and Present) Offer Wild Speculations & Teasers For the 100th Episode. By Tiffany Vogt

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: The Cast (Past and Present) Offer Wild Speculations & Teasers For the 100th Episode.
By Tiffany Vogt

Look who's back with interviews from the cast of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. Tiffany is the Senior West Coast Correspondent: Columnist/Entertainment Reporter for thetvaddict.com and runs her own site http://thetvwatchtower.wordpress.com. Please give her a warm welcome and a follow on Twitter.

Hitting its milestone 100th episode mark, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has a lot to celebrate, which they did in fine fashion last November at an exclusive party in Atlanta. From the red carpet, the cast offered their candid speculations on who they would like to see revisit Mystic Falls, which character death hit them the hardest and maybe a teaser or two about what is upcoming in their epic 100th episode.

What can you tease about the 100th episode?

JULIE PLEC: I can tease some nostalgia. I can tease a good game-changing twists and turns. I can tease good sexy romance, a surprise hook-up, and some big tears. When you’re growing up and moving on from high school and moving out, the way you feel about certain people changes. Things change. You can make some bad choices; you can make some good choices; you can make some choices that are not in your best interest. We like to explore those relationship dynamics.

PAUL WESLEY: There’s a reunion. There’s a really beautiful reunion. Bring your tissue box.

CANDICE ACCOLA: We’re going to get to the root of everyone’s problem, which is really Katherine. She turned the Salvatore brothers into vampires; she turned Caroline into a vampire. She’s just basically caused all the ruckus in all the characters’ lives. So we’re going to have a nice episode about who this woman is and why everyone hates her so much. Is death too good for her? It might be.

MICHAEL TREVINO: Our 100th episode is going to have a lot of familiar faces from the past, which is nice and people are going to enjoy that. It’s hard to fit everybody in our storyline and have it make sense, but I think the writers accomplished that.

KAT GRAHAM: It’s just a very big episode. A lot of things that the fans have wanted to happen, happen. So it’s going to be a fan-favorite for sure.

STEVE MCQUEEN: There’s a lot. I can’t say what happens, but I can say that one of my favorite scenes is coming up.

ZACH ROERIG: Matt is still alive. It’s a reunion of sorts. The gang’s all back in town. A lot of people have left and gone out of town and are missing, and they kind of pop back up.

MARGUERITE MACINTYRE: Sheriff Forbes is making an appearance in the 100th episode. I’m really excited and happy that I get to be in it.

MATT DAVIS: I wish I knew. I don’t know!

SARA CANNING: Is Aunt Jenna in the 100th? You think I’m going to tell you that?!

NATHANIEL BUZOLIC: I actually know nothing about the 100th episode. But I’m sure the writers have planned something incredible because it’s such a special event.

What character death shocked you the most?

JULIE PLEC: You’ve got death knocking at the door; whether death succeeds, I will never say!

IAN SOMERHALDER: When Damon killed Jeremy. What an idiot: “I’m going to kill the girl I love’s brother.” The decisions this man makes blows my mind. Then somehow the audience forgives him. They justify everything he does, like “Oh, he was in a bad mood.” He killed her brother! What an idiot. But he does everything with so much heart.

NINA DOBREV: Oh my goodness, they’re all surprising. I was saddened the most by Kayla Ewell aka Vicki’s death because she was my roommate at the time and I didn’t want to lose my roommate and best friend.

PAUL WESLEY: Alaric’s.

CANDICE ACCOLA: Kayla [Ewell] and Sara [Canning].

MICHAEL TREVINO: Aunt Jenna. Sara Canning was with us for a bit there and I just didn’t see that coming. I didn’t see her being killed-off the show. I thought that was a little premature. That one hurt.

STEVE MCQUEEN: Bonnie’s.

ZACH ROERIG: Any of the girls’ deaths. They all are like sisters to me and I have so much love for them still to this day. But probably the first was Kayla, because that was so unexpected and I don’t think any of us thought that any of us were going anywhere. Kayla and I to this day are super close. I have a lot of love for her. She’s probably one of the best people I’ve ever met.

MALESE JOW: When Jeremy died for like the millionth time, when Silas killed him. I remember being really emotional watching the episode.

MARGUERITE MACINTYRE: This is going to seem funny, but when Rose died, the way that Damon was with her. That was so beautiful to me. How he helped her and how he created the space for her to have a beautiful death.

MATT DAVIS: Aunt Jenna. Losing Aunt Jenna and losing Sara Canning was the hardest for me.

SARA CANNING: Kayla Ewell’s [death]. She played Vicki and that rocked me hard, just ’cause she’s so wonderful and she still is a significant part of this group of friends. It was sad and it was also the first major death.

Which character would you like to see resurrected?

I think whenever Lexi is on the show, she brings this breath of fresh-air, and sparkle and sunshine. She’s a really nice presence and it wouldn’t be so sad to have her back around. But we do, believe it or not, kill people for real and never see them again. So, for right now, I’d say there is no plans for a great resurrection. But you never know!

IAN SOMERHALDER: Rick/Alaric. I miss him a lot. There were so many deaths. Who doesn’t miss Anna (Malese Jow)? And Kelly Hu? We’ve killed so many people on the show. But Rick and Damon were so close, and Matt Davis and I are so close. So when you lose a character, you’re not just loosing a character on the show; you’re losing a family member. You’re losing someone in your daily life.

NINA DOBREV: That’s not fair. That’s like choosing your favorite child. I love everyone so much. I’d love to see Matt Davis come back because Elena doesn’t have a parental figure and I think she needs one really badly. So Alaric.

PAUL WESLEY: Alaric. He’s like Jesus. I want him to resurrect.

CANDICE ACCOLA: I feel like everyone ends up being resurrected!

MICHAEL TREVINO: I’d bring back Alaric. I think Matt Davis would come back to Atlanta. I’d bring him back.

STEVE MCQUEEN: Bonnie, obviously, and then probably Alaric.

ZACH ROERIG: Of course, Kayla [Ewell]. But because he’s my boy and cosmic brother, Matt Davis, just ’cause I’m a little bit lost in Atlanta without him. I think they should give Alaric his own spinoff.

MALESE JOW: It would be cool if Anna came back and have to be a scene with Jeremy. They would have to have a chance to reconnect. And I really think Anna and Bonnie could be friends.

MARGUERITE MACINTYRE: I love all of them so much, but I love Aunt Jenna. When I read that script, I could not stop crying. But it was so amazing and such a great story. I loved her. She was another wonderful human. And I love Lexi. I love it whenever Lexi comes back ’cause she’s so sparkly. Arielle [Kebbel] is great. I would love to see her come back too.

MATT DAVIS: I’d love to see Sara [Canning] as Aunt Jenna come back, for sure.

SARA CANNING: I feel like I should say Dillon Casey ’cause I’m doing a show with him right now and he’s playing my brother. He was like, “Thrown in a good word for me down there!”

(Videos of these fun interviews may be seen HERE.)

Based on where we left our characters in the mid-season finale, it is fair to say that the 100th episode is all about Katherine Pierce. With death knockin’ at the door, Katherine is desperate to find a way to extend her all too mortal lifespan. The episode is certain to be a look back at the sins of Katherine’s wanton and remorseless past – but who among them is really suited to be judge, jury and executioner? Are any of our heroes without similar sin or misdeeds hidden in their human and vampire closets?

To see the fate of Katherine Pierce, be sure to tune in for the epic 100th episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES on Thursday, January 23rd at 8:00 p.m. on the CW.

[Editor's Note: This opportunity to interview the cast at their 100th Episode celebration was provided by and sponsored by Warner Bros. Television.]

LUCKY BASTARD Trailer & Release Date Information

See what happens when the adult film industry and “found footage” mix in the lastest trailer for LUCKY BASTARD, the upcoming NC-17 horror-thriller from CAVU Pictures

The film will be released in limited theaters on February 14th in New York, March 7th in LA, and will expand into additional cities throughout the spring.

LUCKY BASTARD is the story of a shy young man who wins a contest to have sex with a famous porn star on an adult website. When the young man arrives at the porno house / set location, his every move is captured on the numerous reality television-style wallcams that are spread out everywhere in the house. It is the found footage from these cameras that tells the story of the inevitable and horrifying reality of what actually happened.

At the center of the story are: Mike (Don McManus), who owns the “Lucky Bastard” website; his top porn star Ashley Saint (Betsy Rue); and Dave G. (Jay Paulson), the unsuspecting shy young man who wins the contest.

The “Lucky Bastard” employees treat their work matter-of-factly. Mike once clearly had more serious artistic ambitions, but now he runs the company and directs all of the “Lucky Bastard” website’s content. Ashley, the website’s most popular performer, initially refuses to participate because she knows the winner will be humiliated by the experience, but ultimately gives in when offered extra money. And the contest winner, Dave, an unassuming and shy young man, finds himself driven by shame and humiliation into committing the most horrifying acts imaginable.

The director and co-writer of LUCKY BASTARD is veteran television writer-producer Robert Nathan, best known for his Emmy-nominated work on Law & Order, and who is also an award-winning novelist and journalist.

LUCKY BASTARD is rated NC-17 by the MPAA for explicit sexual content.

When the adult website LUCKY BASTARD runs a contest giving the winner a night with a hot porn star, the outcome turns from fantasy to horror in a deadly nightmare no one could possibly have expected. The film will be released in limited theaters on February 14th in New York, March 7th in LA, and will expand into additional cities throughout the spring.

Be sure to check out the official website for more action and the latest updates about the film.

Arrow Episode 211 “Blind Spot” Review

Arrow Episode 211 “Blind Spot”
Review by Nicolas Souza

Coming off of last week’s weak spring premier, Wednesday’s episode of Arrow was a return to the elements that make it a joy for fans.

Laurel’s drug problem is finally addressed. This was done in parallel with the Blood Brother conflict, as she believes Sebastian Blood to be the leader. This leads Blood to assist Laurel in destroying her own life. She’s been doing a pretty bang up job on her own with the pills, likely oxycodone. Blood sends his inside man, Officer Daily, to search her apartment and then arrest her for possession.

Since the season 2 premier, I’ve been slightly annoyed with Laurel; this was a good way to justify why she has been acting the way she has been. It will also be interesting to see if her downfall will bring Sara back to Sterling City, more on that in a second. Now the Oliver has admitted to having a “Blind Spot” when it comes to Laurel will he be more wary of trusting her when she is danger in the future? Also, how will this affect her father? We know he had a substance abuse problem in his past too; will it passing to his daughter bring him down as well?

Roy’s new abilities came front and center when he enlists his old friend Sin to help him stop a string of murders in the Glades. With his new strength uncontrolled he puts a guy in the hospital. This scene was another filled with great stunt work. The pulling a stunt guy over a car and into a support column after being kicked by Roy was just great stuff. When Oliver learns that Roy did, he quickly jumps in and offers Roy the chance he has been waiting for. Now that “Red Arrow” is in training, how long will we have to wait to see him in action?

Slade was revealed to have a part in what was going on with the Blood Brothers and the serum. Now it has been shown that he is in fact the puppet master pulling the string of Blood and his goons. The moment many fans have been waiting for took place in the closing minutes of the episode. Slade finally puts on full Deathstroke gear. Modeled after The New 52 armor he looked badass. It was extremely gratifying to see him jumping and slashing Blood’s cronies on screen.

Now that he has been revealed, and will likely be the antagonist in the closing episodes on this season, how will it play out? If you are a fan of the comics you know that Deathstroke once took on the entire Justice League at once, all of them. Yeah, even Superman. Since we aren’t likely to see Bats, Kal El, Wonder Woman, or Green Lantern; who is going to help Oliver defeat his toughest challenge so far?

I do expect Sara, The Canary, to return to assist Laurel and their father in what is going to be a rough road for them. Though this return is problematic, as it would bring the Assassins back, possibly one of the al Guls. The addition of Roy is good too; he will at least come close to matching the strength of Slade. Barry Allen is rumored to be back for at least one episode later this spring, around the time “The Flash” premiers, he might be called upon to aide the rest of the crew.

Seeing as we are only in the second week of the spring half, we can only wait and watch.

Next week’s episode “Tremors” looks like it will jump right into the training Oliver will give Roy to be a new do-gooder in Sterling City.

Win Tickets To An Advance For Screening For MONUMENTS MEN on February 5th – 7:00PM at Regal Natomas Marketplace in Sacramento.

THE MONUMENTS MEN is a 2014 American-German comedy-drama film directed by George Clooney, written and produced by Clooney and Grant Heslov, and starring Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville, and Cate Blanchett. Based on the book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert M. Edsel, the film follows the story of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program, an Allied group, tasked with saving pieces of art and other culturally important items before their destruction by Hitler during World War II

Based on the true story of the greatest treasure hunt in history, the film is an action drama focusing on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. It would be an impossible mission: with the art trapped behind enemy lines, and with the German army under orders to destroy everything as the Reich fell, how could these guys - seven museum directors, curators, and art historians, all more familiar with Michelangelo than the M-1 - possibly hope to succeed? But as the Monuments Men, as they were called, found themselves in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1000 years of culture, they would risk their lives to protect and defend mankind's greatest achievements.
